Chapter 3 - AMNESIA

Selena's eyes fluttterd open as she looked around the place, she yawned as she stretched her arms.

"I thought you wanted to sleep the whole day" A voice spoke just next to her.

"Ahh" Selena shouted as she got up, she blinked several times as she looked at the figure lying on the bed. It took a while before everything registered in her brain, she couldn't help but curse when she realized that she had slept off.

"Hon, you are awake" Selena spoke with a smile as she walked closer but then halted. She didn't know if he still had the Amnesia, the doctor had said that his case was different and so there was no telling wether or not Damiens memories were back.

"You are my wife?" Damien asked as he looked at the girl in front of him. Damien had been awake for almost an hour now, when he first saw her sleeping next to him he was confused. He didn't want to wake her up, the little time he had he was able to make out what the situation was.

Selena didn't know what to say now, she had lied to the doctor, she had lied in the papers but this was different. She had to stand in front of Damien and agree to be his wife.

"How's your health now?" Selena asked as she walked closer to the bed, she didn't know what to do next and so she just pushed the button. "The doctor would arrive soon" Selena added.

Damien didn't say a word, he watched her tensed movements, he could tell that something wasn't right here, but Damien wasn't the type to react to situations. He would rather remain calm and analyze everything before speaking.

"How did we meet?" Damien asked out of the blue making her pause in her steps. Damien knew about his Amnesia, He had Amnesia since he was eight years old. But Damien knew himself better than anyone else, Damien knew that he didn't believe in marriage. Infact, he had said to himself that he wasnt going to get married.

"We got married a year ago" Selena spoke with a smile as she took a sit on the stool next to the bed, she knew if she continued to stand then her body gestures would just give her away. "It was winter, a few days to Christmas, there was an accident, not really a serious accident though, your car bumped into mine and that's... that's how it all started. " Selena spoke and acted like she was enjoying the non existent memory. "You don't remember, do you?" Selena asked with a sad tone as she looked at him.

"I don't" Damien answered, not beating around the bush. "I guess I told you about my condition right?" Damien asked as he looked at the girl.

"Yes but this is the first time, I didn't know it was that bad" Selena spoke sadly as a tear rolled down her cheek. "You are going to divorce me aren't you?" Selena asked with her head down.

Damien didn't say a word and just looked at her, he had seen too much for him to fall for tricks like this. There was a ninety percent chance that this lady in his hospital ward could be lying but Damien would have to wait.

Right now, all he could remember was events from five years ago, he could tell it had been that long because his eyes had found a calendar in the ward. Damien remembered the last time an event like this occured, it took him a month before he was able to get all his memories back.

Damien looked at the girl, she looked young, maybe a few years younger than him, she didn't look like the girls from his social circle. Damien knew himself to not be the kind of man to fall for this kind of women, even if he did want to get married then it would be business, marriage of convenience. In this case, it seemed like he had married her for other reasons, she wasn't among the elites here and he could tell she had no relation to them.

Damien reached his hand out and cupped her cheek, he raised her head up so he could look at her eyes. "What's your name?" Damien asked with his piercing gaze.

Selena swallowed the lump in her throat, she wanted to push his hand off and probably hit him hard before leaving but she had to just endure. At this rate, he was her Saviour, if Damien would just believe her so they can get pass this already.

"Selena Parker" Selena replied, she wasn't going to say her real name, of course she knew the kind of man Damien was.

'Clever' Damien thought in his head when he realized that she had not used her maiden name.

"Ahh" Selena yelled a little when Damien suddenly pulled her up so that she was now strangling him on the bed. His two hands were placed around her waist as he pressed her closer to himself.

"We are at the hospital" Selena said as she tried to get up but Xavier's grip was firm.

."I don't really care" Damien said as he looked at her eyes and then her lips, not able to hold himself any longer, he pulled her in for a kiss.

Selena couldn't process the whole thing, at first she was in shock but that was quickly changed to pleasure as Damien kissed her. She responded to the kisses so as to not raise any suspicion.

"Selena" Damien whispered abover her lips when he pulled away from the kiss, the way he said it seemed like he was trying to have the name engraved in him so he won't ever forget it.

"Damien" Selena whispered .

Hearing her call his name like that brought a strange feeling but Damien quickly pushed it away. He let go of his grip on her, allowing her to do whatever she wanted.

Damien wouldn't lie to himself, he still felt like something wasn't right here, the fact that there was no ring on his finger or on her finger was enough to create so many suspicions. But he couldn't call her a liar either, she was the one who brought him to the hospital, it would be weird for someone to just pick a stranger and the road and bring them here.

But then again if she was really his wife then she should know about William, if she did know about William then why would she bring him here?"

Damien pushed all the questions aside, there were so many possibilities but he wasn't going to start thinking about anything now, his condition was one that didn't require him to stress his brain.
