Selena looked out the window, she could feel Damien's piercing gaze but she tried to ignore it, she was a good liar, a hard stare from Damien was not enough to put her down.
"What's wrong" Damien asked.
"Nothing" Selena replied with a deep sigh. "I'm just really tired, it's been a long day" Selena spoke with a small smile on her lips, she finally turned away from the window.
"You seem tensed" Damien commented with his eyes on her, he looked at her intently, he made sure not to miss anything.
"well I'm not Hon, it's just the weather" Selena spoke while rubbing her arms together trying to keep herself warm.
"Here" Damien said as he carefully placed his suit jacket on her shoulders.
"Thank you" Selena spoke with a smile.
"How did it happen?" Damien asked.
"What are you talking about?" Selena answered with a question, right now she was sitting at the edge of her sit ready to fight at anytime. She was sure she still had a knife placed in her thigh just in case of emergency.
"Since I can't seem to remember what happened in the past five years, I was hoping you would explain to me." Damien said with his legs crossed as he focused on her.
"Explain what?" Selena asked again in confusion, she didn't like where this discussion was going.
"For starters, our marriage, how did it happen?" Damien asked, he too was finding it hard to believe that he of all people was married.
"It was a simple court marriage, just the both of us" Selena spoke all the while avoiding his gaze. Damien Parker was a business man, it was possible that he would be able to see through her lies. Selena knew the risky game she was playing here but she was going to take it.
"Just us?" Damien asked again, what she said did make sense, Damien knew himself to not be the type to like extravagant parties, a court marriage was exactly his style.
"Yeah, you didn't invite your parents" Selena added.
Damien paused for a moment, he looked at her for a few seconds, though she was avoiding his gaze, he didn't stop. Her last statement had left him confused but that was just the clarification he needed. Those words she had just said was enough for him to conclude, now he knew exactly what was going on here.
Xavier's eyes darkened as he realized, of course all this was took good to be true, the thought of him getting married and all of that was just not possible. Now he knew the truth, he didn't know what to do yet, he could send her out now and get her arrested but Damien didn't want to do that yet. He still wanted to get the rest information, the chances were too high and so he was going to use every opportunity he got .
"Are you done with your questions now Hon, I need to relax" Selena added as she placed her head on his shoulders, she closed her eyes as she tried to sleep.
Damien glanced at her from the corner of her eyes, he wasn't going to let her go yet, first he wanted to know her reason for all this.
"We'll soon get to the mansion" Damien whispered just above her ears.
Selena could feel his hot breath on her skin and his words were so close to her ears, she wondered why he would do that.
"I'm sure I can rest a little before we get there" Selena said pretending to be half asleep.
Damien didn't say another word and just withdrew himself back, he placed his arms around her shoulders to keep her from falling of.
'She looked like someone he had seen before' Damien thought but he knew better than anyone else not to believe his thoughts, afterall he just lost his memories for the past five years. Ever since Damien was seven years old when he lost both his parents, his life had not been the same. When Damien was only twelve years old, he had a serious accident, one that caused him to be in a coma for a week. When he woke up, he had amnesia, luckily it only lasted for a month and then he was able to remember everything again.
A few years later Damien had another accident, a car accident, this time he was in coma for three days before he woke up, he did loose half of his memory but he recovered quickly.
Now the same thing was happening again, only this time he didn't stay in a coma, this time he woke up with a woman by his side claiming to be his wife. This time Damien knew that it was going to be so much harder than the last time.
With a sigh Damien turned his attention outside the car, the streets were busy at night especially when it's winter. So many kids stood outside playing with snow. Everyone was enjoying the holiday but Damien was not in the spirit, the holidays was always a reminder of what he lost. It was a reminder that he could have been among those children a long time ago, but someone had taken that opportunity from him. That someone, Damien knew he would never forgive that person .
