"Wake up!"
"Wake up, Damn it."
Feeling someone hitting me against my face, I wake up. "Ouch, who did that!"
"It's me, stupid, hurry up, we're going out." Tskuta said with a hint of annoyance in her voice.
"Huh?" Turning my head, I look through the window only to find darkness outside.
Realising this, I turned towards Tskuta and stared dazedly in doubt. (Where are we going at such an hour??)
"Get up." She said in slight anger.
Listening to her, I dare not disobey and quickly stand up on my feet.
"Come." Saying this, she grabbed my hand and dragged me out.
Outside the door, she pulled me by the neck and leaned in.
"Don't let me repeat myself again." She whispered in my ear, causing goosebumps all over my body.
I nodded my head like a chicken pecking at rice.
"Good." Satisfied with this, she points towards a certain house and asks. "Tell me, who lives there?"
A question I did not want to hear. Who lives there?? (How should I know who lives there? Believe me when I say I do not know.)
"Umm, a w..." I struggled to come up with something reasonable.
"What??" She said with a frown.
"Ww.... Wise man?" I blurted out.
(What, why did I just say that?)
Hearing this, Tskuta's green eyes glowed as she mumbled something to herself. "So that's it...."
Listening to her mumbling, I couldn't help but get curious as to why this was. (Could it be that there's really a wise man there? But what's a wise man anyway?)
"Hey." She said snapping me out of my state of curiosity.
"Yes."
"You still know the terms of our contract, right goblin." She said, but not even waiting for me to answer, she continued.
"Take this and put it inside of that house." Saying this, she hands me a small, red stone.
I looked dazedly at the stone in my hands. It felt warm and had a calming feeling to it, but...
"Wait, can we go over the terms again?"
Listening to me, she frowns. "Goblin, what do you mean, go over the terms again?"
I swallowed when I noticed her frown. I mean, I couldn't just tell her I forgot the terms of the contract or that I never actually knew what it was in the first place.
"I...wan-tt to change it." I replied in fear.
Her brows burrowed at my reply, and again, a coldness came over me as her face turned ever cold.
"Don't be greedy, you're lucky I even let you live and did not kill you with your wife. But now you are making me start to regret my decision..."
Stepping back in fear, my back was full of cold sweat. (I'm sure she can kill me with just a flick of her wrist, but I also don't want to go through a deal without knowing any information. What must I do in this situation?)
After a long silence, she frowned and finally spoke with a cold voice. "What do you want?"
This surprised me, I wasn't actually expecting her to let me change it. I mean, she is the dominant party in this relationship. So why?
Not hearing me answer, her frown increases.
Noticing this, I hurriedly ask, in fear of her changing her mind, "Can you teach me to hunt?"
Her brow raised in surprise, but then was replaced with doubt. "You first asked me for a years supply of food, but now, suddenly changing your mind, you want me to teach you to hunt."
(Wait, was the previous owner of this body stupid or what. You're selling your own kind just for a years supply of food. How stupid can you be.)
After being deeply shocked by what I just heard, I quickly regained my composure and replied, "Yes."
"Hmm." Listening to my reply, she frowns in thought before saying, "Deal, but if you dare change the terms again, I won't be as polite as I'm now."
I hurriedly nodded when I heard this.
"Now go, and make sure you place it in a conspicuous place."
(Huh, why in a conspicuous place??)
Despite having my doubts, I still nodded and headed off.
While walking, I couldn't help but think to myself. (I now have someone to help me hunt. So my level should be going up real soon. Although I'm actually aligning with my race's enemy I think, but if I play this smoothly, I might still have a chance of surviving.)
(But I wonder what her race is. She's not a goblin and yet looks like it.) The thought of this made me turn around.
But what I saw instantly turned my head in the correct direction. (She's really frightening. Even if I'm far away.)
Unknowingly, I had arrived at my destination. A broken-down wooden house that looked just like the rest of the houses.
(Should I knock first, or just barge in. I know barging in is rude, but if I knock, then won't they think I'm some kind of human. Do they even know what a human is?) As I contemplated, the door opened, and out came a small goblin.
Looking at the goblin in front of me, I became embarrassed.
"Oh, you're Kuta, right?" The small goblin asked.
Listening to him, I'm surprised at how well he spoke. Unlike the goblins I met before, he sounded genuinely nice. I even thought he looked kind of cute.
Small goblin with pointed ears. He didn't have many teeth in his mouth. Not that it looked ugly or weird, but it kind of reminded me of a baby. His nose was also a lot shorter compared to that of normal goblins. He was a truly cute goblin.
"Yes, I'm Kuta." I said, but suddenly remembered. (Wait, is Kuta my name.)
"Great, come in." The small goblin said with a hint of excitement in his tone.
I was taken aback by his enthusiasm and welcome, but considering my mission does require me to go into this house, I still went in, but what awaited me on the other side was something I truly did not want to see.
