Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: Conflict Between Women

With a slumped back, a low mood, and terrible growling hunger, I walked out of my previous and present father's house.

"I seriously need to do something about this."

"I can't just let them boss me around, but they're just so strong. How am I supposed to contend with someone multiple levels higher than me?"

"I need to level up."

Grrrrrrrr

My stomach grumbled with disappointment.

"Don't worry, I'll feed you too, but just wait. We can't just eat human flesh; that's cannibalism." I told my stomach in a teacher-like atmosphere.

Grrrrrrrr

It grumbled again, like a child resisting guidance.

"Sigh, a hungry stomach, and a waiting lioness." I sighed as I walked, but suddenly, heard two familiar voices.

Turning my attention, I saw Tskuta and Kina arguing with one another. Of course, most of the arguing was done by Kuta.

Seeing this, I ran towards them, but soon regretted making that decision.

Seeing me, Kina's face flashed with sadness. She ran towards me, hugging me out of nowhere, as she said. "Kuta, you have to hear what she just said."

I felt helpless and embarrassed. Helpless for involving myself in this. Embarrassed for actually having a reaction when her chest pressed against mine.

"Uh-h, I..." I stuttered.

In response to my voice not even giving me a chance to finish my broken sentence, she starts madly rubbing her body against me. Her chest went up and down, causing my blood to rise and my face to turn red.

"She said I did not look pretty, and even an Ogre looks prettier than me." She spoke in a frightened tone, acting like a scared little girl.

Looking at me with her green, teary eyes, she asks "Kuta, do you think that's true?"

I swallowed at this and was truly horrified at her acting talent. (What's an ogre? Should I say yes? Or no? No, I can't say yes, but if I say no, then...)

With this thought, I turn my attention towards Tskuta.

"Gulped," I saw a cold-faced goblin girl staring at me, daring me to say no and see what happens.

"Uhhm, I uhmm, can I say it's uhh..."

"What!! So you also think I'm uglier than an Ogre!" Kina shouted loudly, tears running down her face.

Seeing this, I started panicking.

"No, I don..." Before I could finish my words, Tskuta's cold aura came over me, causing me to shiver in fear.

(What must I do now? I don't want to upset Tskuta; what if she kills me for it. I also don't want to upset Kina, because this body genuinely has feelings for her. So who must I choose...)

I could not wrap my head around this.

(I know Kina's acting, but why does Tsuta, who's not even my real wife, act like this? I know she doesn't have affection for me, so maybe dignity?? Who knows what women think anyway??)

"Hey Kina! What's up!" A voice shouted behind me.

Turning around, with Kina still tightly clinging to my side, I saw a female goblin with a pair of bold green eyes.

"Sina, what are you doing here." Seeing this woman, Kina's face turned cold.

Walking towards us, the goblin named Sina, ignoring Kina's cold face, came forward and put her arms around me.

(Don't tell me another one joined this fight.) I thought while feeling my head ache at this sight.

"Long time no see, brother-in-law." She said coyly and turned her head behind me. "Oh, Tskuta, you're also here."

Listening to this, I turn my head to see Tskuta's expression. Tskuta wore a frown on her face with a look of disgust in her eyes.

"Oy, what's up with that frowny face." Sina taunted while chuckling.

Not replying to this, Tskuta turned her attention to me and spoke in a deadly voice, "Husband, let's go."

Hearing the tone of her voice and seeing the cold look on her face. I knew she was really angry right now.

"Umm, can we continue this tomorrow." I asked with a hint of tiredness in my voice, but was I truly tired? Nope, not in the slightest.

Seeing me like this, Kina looked angrily towards Tskuta, and just when she was about to talk...

Grrrrrrrrr

My stomach grumbled.

Hearing this, both Kina and Sina looked embarrassed.

"I really need to get some sleep and also eat. So can we please continue this tomorrow?" I asked with my eyes almost fully closed.

Kina looked conflicted, not knowing if she should let me go, but suddenly her eyes lit up. "Why don't you stay with us for the night?"

Tskuta's face turned ever colder when she heard this.

(What am I going to do now?)

"Sis, I don't think that's a good idea." Sina said with an embarrassed face.

Listening to her sister, Kina frowns. "Why."

Leaning towards her sister's ear, she whispers. "Well, you see...."

Kina became angry after hearing what Sina said.

Gritting her teeth, she looks towards me and says, "OK, let's continue with this tomorrow."

Hearing this, I breathed a sigh of relief and wanted to walk forward, but discovered I couldn't.

Turning my head, I looked speechless at the hands that held me tightly.

Sensing my gaze caused Kina to become flustered.

"Umm, bye." She said and quickly let go of me before turning and walking away.

"Bye, brother-in-law." Sina waved mischievously at me before following her sister.

"Phew, finally they're gone." I said in relief while wiping the sweat from my forehead.

"Goblin." Tsuta's cold voice sounded out behind me, causing my body to stiffen.

"Let's have a nice long chat, OK." Her green eyes glowed as she said this.

"Gulp, ok"

-an hour later-

With a painful, swollen reddish green face, I slept on the floor, but although my eyes were closed, I was not truly sleeping. With all the stuff that happened to me in one measly day, it was enough to make a man go crazy.

Fortunately, I'm not a man anymore; by that, I meant hu-man. With clearly conflicted thoughts in my head, I prayed that it would all work out. But the pieces just don't fit.

"Sigh, if only I went to the afterlife and not to a life of, well, this, a life of this." I said with helplessness, with my eyes closed.
