Everytime Barry invites me to a party, something crazy always happens and I was sure it was gonna happen again.
I pointed to my chest. "You are inviting me to a party" I said to be sure I heard his words correctly.
"Yeah" his lips barely moved.
I sighed, glancing away from his face.
He held my two hands gently in his big ones "Pixie, please. I know deep down you're mad at me, but I just want to...." he trailed off, searching into my eyes.
I stared back into his eyes. "Are you inviting me as the mate you rejected or as the mate you're planning to accept?"
He quickly darted his eyes away from mine, biting his bottom lip hard. I waited for him to say something but he kept his lip clamped down with his white teeth.
