Chapter 29 - PTSD Gone Wrong

Sunny opened her eyes slowly, and Sok-ji who was sleeping beside her began to wake up.

"Are you okay?" Sok-ji asked.

"Not bad, it's better, I fainted again?" Sunny trying to understand what happened.

"What I thought was that you're not fainted. Sun, you drank all the alcohol in my house, you know you're a strong drinker, right?"

"Yes, but it's not that simple."

"Hey, it's weird if your PTSD flares up because of alcohol."

"Sok-ji, how do you know about the diagnosis?"

"How long will you hide that from me?"

"No... I just didn't know the right time to tell you."

"You can tell me as soon as possible. So are you sure about your condition?"

"I don't know."

Sok-ji was silent, he got out of bed took the tray of food, and gave it to her.

"Eat first before we argue again."

"You know it's strange, but sometimes I do miss arguing with you."

"I know arguing with me is fun but there's no point in arguing if you don't have the energy. Eat and take your medicine."

"I didn't think that you would see me like this."

Sok-ji was silent while looking at her. He smiled while helping her eat.

"Now, it is time for you to rest. Let me protect you now. Besides, there is a reason why I dared to agree to NIS's request."

"I am indeed confused about one thing."

"What?" Sok-ji asked.

"Since when are you skilled at using weapons and doing all the sniping alone. Well, there's something you're not telling me?"

Sok-ji smiles. Indeed, this is something that is rarely told to anyone. Even though he doesn't have a license, he's good enough to do that.

"When Lay and I met with NIS for the first time, they gave me the results of my 2 years of military service, so..."

"How do they get that?"

"That I don't know. Sun they are the spy. So I wouldn't be surprised if they knew about that."

"And if I can ask you, how are you doing in the military?"

"Been good. I was in a special team and took sniper training."

"What? Why don't I know about this?"

"Hei, you might have a lot of money, but you can't use your money to get information from the government, especially the military."

"I get it. Even NIS approached me first. They know everything about me, but I don't know anything about them."

"Says someone who's working with the CIA."

"Start to regret what I've been doing."

"Don't regret it, babe. You finally get justice for you and your dad."

Sunny sighs breath. "Ya, hopefully, I do the right thing."

"Can I ask you something?"

"Sure, anything for you."

"Danny shows me the medicine, why did you take that?"

"Did Zax tell you why I took it?"

"Yes, he is. But I want to hear from you. Is it wine or alcohol?"

"Truth is. I don't know. But I am surviving PTSD. something happens and you know it. For almost 12 years, I was hiding trying not to get any attention from everyone. When she found out about the money, there was a car accident involving Min-tae and Seon Mi, and I was hiding from everyone, and then suddenly everything changed."

"So you are telling me you're afraid about the change. Sun but everything you have been doing all of this year is going to make everything change. No matter how it is."

"I know. But I don't know how to handle the change. You know my dad was killed by my mom, and then I had to get into the OR and have physical therapy for at least 4 months. From someone who is always at home and just doing research, suddenly you hold a company that has almost 10.000 people. I get what I want but I'm not ready to hold this company."

"I get it. It is too much to handle, it's like a snap of a finger and suddenly your life is changed."

"You get my point, maybe for someone it is easy, but for me, even people know me as a strong woman. I have my weakness and it eats me, and this is. This shit of PTSD."

"This PTSD shit is not going to eat you, babe. You need the medicine fine and you have to take it seriously, but I think you need Korean beers," said Sok-ji with a smile.

"Ya… but maybe you're right."

They were both silent for a moment, Sok-ji walked around Sunny's room, the atmosphere was different from her room in Korea. Everything seems to have changed completely 180% and this proves how anxious she is.

"Sok-ji, did you meet Walter earlier?" She asked.

Sok-ji looks at Sunny, he knows it's the same look when he found out the truth about KCC's resume.

"I met him, and I know you shouldn't have to look at me like that."

"But, I don't know how to choose you over him."

"And you choose him over me?"

"No. I can't tell him that I choose you over him, he's been my best friend for almost half of my life and he always says he wants me to be his girl, and there's something that I can't tell you…"

"And don't. Don't tell me anything okay? This is between you and him. And I am not a part of this. Maybe I am, but this is not how it is going. You have to tell him about our relationship and maybe that will break his heart. But I will never lose my faith in you."

"So you don't want me to explain everything to you?"

"Sun, you are the strongest person I know, and I never lose my faith in you. Maybe I am upset if something happens between you and him, but I am not letting you go. I will fight for you. And I will never lose you."

"That's why I love you so much."

"I know. I'm cool right?"

"Oh, my God. Definitely you are."
