Standing nervously at the grand entrance of the Academy, Nate's eyes fixed on the massive tiger lounging near the ornate gates. Professor Jodi, approached the beast with a casualness that belied its ferocious appearance.
"Well, are you coming?" she called over her shoulder, a hint of amusement in her voice.
Gulping, Nate took a hesitant step forward. The cobblestones of the entrance path seemed to stretch endlessly before him. The tiger's golden eyes locked onto him, a low growl rumbling from its throat. Nate froze, his heart pounding against his ribcage.
Professor Jodi burst into laughter, the sound echoing off the academy's imposing facade. She reached out to stroke the tiger's massive head, cooing, "Aw, don't worry, Verdant. He's just an ant we could easily crush."
