"You should take a nap first," Chloe stated after looking over Nate, clearly seeing the exhaustion etched on his face.
Nate nodded, also looking forward to getting a bit of rest. Spending the entire night out on a stakeout with Professor Jodi and fighting off arcane hollows had left him feeling more tired than he'd ever been in his life.
Chloe stood gracefully, her movements fluid and practiced. "I can take you to rest for a bit in my room."
"Sounds good. Lead the way," Nate replied as she grabbed hold of his hand and began to guide him out of the sitting room.
Their footsteps echoed on the marble floors as they walked through the castle's ornate corridors. Servants shot them curious glances, some of the females even blushing after getting a good look at Nate's appearance. He caught snippets of whispered conversations as they passed.
"That's the new viscount."
"He's so handsome!"
"No wonder the princess is so smitten."
