As they approached the rift border, Weifeng could sense the imminent danger closing in from the northwest—a pack of wolves converging on their position with alarming speed. Swiftly altering their course to evade the approaching threat, they veered slightly southward still determined to reach the safety of the rift border to the east as it offered the easiest and fastest route.
Navigating the increasingly congested urban landscape, Weifeng found his progress impeded by the towering buildings, each leap requiring greater effort and precision. Suddenly, a claw lashed out from the shadows, narrowly missing Weifeng's leg. There was no way these wolves were that intelligent to wait and set up a trap and the only way was that the wolf was here beforehand doing something and was alerted by its allies.
Unless there was something which was intelligent commanding them. But that was impossible since monsters with intelligence would appear with tier 4 or above.
Weifeng was able to dodge and jump again but it seemed that the left wind boot was damaged as it buzz and they started to fall but Weifeng quickly managed to use the other wind boot to stabilize the fall as he stepped on the wall and jump before they reached the ground and landed on the ground with his right foot first before his left foot. The disadvantage of the wind boots was that even though they were tier 3, they can be damaged easily but of course done by tier 1 monsters, that was a bit hard but since what Weifeng had gotten was a repaired one done in a hurry since getting a new one would take more time than necessary, it was evident. If it was a good one, it would not have been greatly damaged by early tier 2 monsters.
"You can put me down"
"I can walk, now"
"It will be much easier for you"
"Since the boots have broken"
It seemed that the medicine paste he had given to her to rub while they were traversing and as well as the pill he had given her had worked as her ankle had healed.
Weifeng put her down as they started to run towards the border but it seemed that time was not on their side as howls quickly followed and wolves started to rush from the alleyways as they passed them. Theron started to throw bottles upon bottles of weird substances which blew up, stopping the wolves
"Run"
"Don't look back"
He said as she saw her trying to see if he was fine. She was glad to see that he was fine and as she trusted him before, she trusted him this time as well and she was able to reach near the border as she took out the talisman.
As they passed through it, they reached the other side and the talisman started to burn and it turned to ash. As she exhaled and made a sigh of relief.
"We made it" Relief flooded over her, but her joy was short-lived as she realized that Weifeng was not with her.
"Don't tell me"
Panic rising in her chest, she pounded on the barrier, calling out desperately for her brother, her voice trembling with fear and sorrow.
"Gege"
"Gege.."
"Gege…."
In the wake of her cries, a heavy silence descended, broken only by the sound of her sobs. Tears streamed down her face as she clung to the hope that Weifeng had made it through unscathed, her heart heavy with the weight of uncertainty and dread.
"Please be safe"

Weifeng's heart raced as he sprinted through the desolate corridors of the towering building, his mind racing with strategies to outmaneuver the relentless horde of wolves hot on his trail. Spotting a building which was almost fifty stories high, a plan beganto take shape in his mind.
With a surge of power, Weifeng launched himself into the air, his powerful legs propelling him upwards in a series of monumental leaps as he arrived on the third floor, crashing through windows and leaving shattered glass in his wake.
After arriving, he knew that the wolves wouldn't take long to come from the stairs and threw an acidic viel towards the stairs as he climbed higher. After reaching a good enough floor, he started to use whatever furinture he could find to block off the stairs for each floor he climbed.
But the wolves were rushing after it had faded that Weifeng started to lose some ground as he had to go higher and higher.
Time later, on the 38th floor, there could be seen Weifeng as he moved the furniture.
"They are really relentless and how many are there even"
He finally sighed as he didn't hear the noises of the wolves no longer.
Then a shattering of glass was sounded and he looked towards the glass and there was a wolf which had somehow crashed itself through the window. He rushed towards this wolf and quickly struck it with his sword. The wolf tried to bite Weifeng but it was unsuccessful in that it was dodged by Weifeng and was delivered its first strike. The wolf was only left with a cut and tried to bite Weifeng again but quickly felt weak as it started to spazz out and fell to the ground.
Weifeng had coated his sword in poison. He struck the wolf again to make sure it was dead and looked as to why it was able to get this high and looked down at the building from the broken glass window to see that there were a lot of wolves which were climbing up apart from those which were going up the stairs. They used their claws to climb up with whatever they could climb up to.
He quickly went up towards the next floor and saw that there were tons of items which he could use to block the stairs and blocked it with them and one floor after another he blocked it with whatever he can. As he reached the 49th floor he held his sweat but he could no longer hear the wolves marking that it was his success at least for those coming from the stairs. There were still wolves climbing up from the side of the building it seems. Seeing that, he threw whatever item he could at them and many of them fell after getting hit and he bought himself a lot of time for both paths. He went to the top of the building after seeing that there was nothing to use at the floor he was in. He sighed in relief as he closed the steel door. He looked down at the building again to see that there were less wolves climbing up after his splendour.
