After answering the final question, a familiar-looking door appeared in front of everyone, but no one noticed it.
Asher gave a last reminder before disappearing through the door.
Exiting, Asher arrived at the previous room, with multiple doors on one end.
Others were also exiting their rooms, looking exhausted. Various scars and bruises were scattered on their bodies, showing the realistic aspect of the exam. Their expressions varied, from smug to anxious, all the way to despair.
Discussions began among friends and familiar individuals.
"Attention!"
The discussion ended abruptly. Everyone turned towards the culprit.
"I'm going to call out a list of numbers based on the rooms you used, if I don't call your number you've failed." Mr. Dandy stood on an elevated staircase, in front of him, a podium-holographic screen stood.
Everyone tensed up, anxiously keeping quiet. The moment of truth had come.
"Number 1, 2, 4, 5, 7, 8, 9, 13,..." Mr. Dandy's voice, echoed in everybody's ears.
Different expression, appeared on people's faces, from despair to realization and confusion, all the way to excitement.
Asher had passed, he didn't show much of a reaction though.
"Mr.Dandy, how did I fail, this doesn't make sense."
"Yeah! I know I got all the questions correctly."
"And I at least got a hundred points."
"I got slapped in the face, and just look at my injuries."
As soon as Mr. Dandy finished speaking, voices of complaints, echoed in the air. At least fifteen people were complaining.
"Quiet!" Mr. Dandy raised his voice, evoking silence. Pointing towards the first youth, "You, what seems to be the problem?"
Nervous, the first youth, plucked the courage from somewhere and said, "How is it that I passed yet my sister failed?"
Mr. Dandy glanced at the girl, before his gaze landed on the screen. After a while of reading, "Your sister, not only killed the trolls, but her actions indirectly killed five people."
Indirectly!
After saying that, he looked towards everyone with a sharp expression, "These are facts, and are non-negotiable. If I failed you then you failed. Everyone who failed wait for me outside, I'll escort you myself."
The room fell silent.
Those who failed, despaired even more, the wasn't a second chance. They left the room, with embarrassment on their faces.
"Take the stairs and head towards the second floor, the next test will be there." Mr. Dandy didn't waste time, and stated, before following the others.
At the end of the room, was a double staircase. It took a while but the candidates finally arrived on the second floor.
It was an open room covered in black tiles. With five black spheres in the room, one bigger then the other ones. There were a few technicians operating the computers.
"Good day everyone, the next part of your test is an affinity test." Standing at the front of the group, was a short middle aged woman with blond hair, she was also the head scientist.
"The first person, step forward and place your hands on large sphere." The woman gestured to the first boy.
The first boy placed his hands on large sphere, one smaller sphere lit blue, with water-like animation filling it up.
[Physique-0%, Mana 0% Mutation 65% Divine 0%]
[Genetic potential= 28%]
A display, along with an artificial intelligence voice, came from the large sphere.
It was extremely common for people to have a single type attribute, and the results varied.
The genetic potential was there because people were different. People with a high genetic potential found it easier to grow stronger, but efforts is what set them apart, and most people didn't pay it any mind.
Among the four, Physique and Mana, were 'popular' as they were mostly at the front lines. Mutation was the least "popular', as saints with these attributes would be way weaker then others, and would often not get a chance to venture to the frontlines.
Killing demons and magical beast, was one of the popular ways to make money.
Divine was the most unknown and rare of them all.
"Very good, may the next person step forward." The head scientist nodded while taking notes.
The second person stepped forward and received their results, then the third person, the forth, the fifth.... until it was Asher's turn.
His results showed.
[Physic-80%, Mana-50%, Mutation-30%, Divine- -0%]
[Genetic potential=90%]
Looking at his results, everyone froze, even the scientists who had been minding their business turned to look at the sphere, wondering if they heard incorrectly.
Asher's results weren't the best in any one attribute, but overall, he had one of the best results. Also no humans in history has gotten a genetic potential of over 50%, even the elves averaged around 80% let alone a 90%.
Only the angels were know to play around the 90% margin.
But what surprised people wasn't his overall or his genetic potential, it was his Divine attribute.
Ever since the beginning of the attribute test, the Divine attribute had been consistently zero, with no exceptions to humans or angels, except for today, except him.
Today something amazing happened.
Strangly, the number itself was negative! What did that mean? Even the scientist were scratching their brains.
Is this a god thing or a bad thing? The head scrienst wondered as her gaze landed on Asher.
'The machine here is more advanced then the other one.' Asher looked at the results and walked back to his position, not particularly surprised.
His first result, from his 'sponsor', weren't this high.
It took a moment for the head scientists to react, her gaze lingered on Asher, before falling to her screen, she wrote something down before saying "uh good, next person please."
Asher ignored the gazes and whispers around him, choosing to close his eyes.
The test continued...
_Thirty minutes later_
The second test concluded, and the results varied. There were a few others, who hadn't awoken any attribute, their expression were ugly.
They were sure of failure, but to their surprise, the head scientist told them all to proceed to the third floor for the final test.
On the third floor, was an empty room with white walls, floor and ceiling. The only other thing was a man wearing dirty clothes sitting behind an old fashioned wooden-desk.
"Ahh, Who are you lot?" The man's eyes shot open, when he sensed other people in the room.
The man's appearance wasn't appealing.
His faded hair was unkempt, his clothes were dischevelled and dirty, a pungent odor radiated from him.
The kids didn't risk approaching anymore.
"We're here to partake in the third entrance exam." The second person, a boy wearing glasses spoke up, the boy was wearing a black suite with black shoes.
Confused the man looked around for a bit, he briefly glanced down before asking "Can't you guys come at another time?"
Everyone else was confused, that shouldn't be possible.
Are you even a teacher here? What are we suppose to do? Wait outside?
"Aren't you an invigilator! How can the academy allow such poor behaviour? If your not going to invigilate us, it's fine I'll do it myself! The boy with glasses shamelessly stated, surprising everyone. His expression not show emotions.
He continued, "Now! What's the procedure for the final test?"
Looking at the brazen kid, the man's shocked expression slowly morphed to one of anger, "You dare say that to me! I'm in a good mood but another disrespectful word from your mouth and I'll fail you myself. "
"No need for that. So long as you explain what the test is, I won't care about your mood quiet frankly." The youth shook his head, stating while adjusting his glasses.
What surprised everyone, was his deadpan expression, seemingly unaware of his action.
"Boy!" The man wanted to slam the table and stand up but he stopped.
His expression shapened and his voice became clear, "Listen here, four-eyes! Your really stepping on my nerve! I'm the invigilator, and your here to take the test, if I wanted to, I could fail everyone here and no one would do anything to me."
"Now take your scrawny ass and wait until I give you the permission to come in!" The man's voice suddenly became deeper.
"How would the Dean react to this." Suddenly another voice mumbled, but the mumble wasn't low enough and was heard by everyone.
Turning to look at the boy, the man was stunned. The youths of today, are ballsy. Thinking about the Dean, the man held back his rage.
"And what are you? Four-eyes's boyfriend?" The man asked.
"You've envoke my wrath! Since you all want to enroll, I'll make sure you don't enjoy your life here! " The man's chilly voice sent a chill up everyone's spine. Neither of them understood the gravity of his words, or the hell in a bottle they had unlocked.
The hack, what did we do to you. The others were surprised.
"Everyone sit down, I just hmmm..... I just want to get this over with." After calming down, the man's voice sounded.
Rubbing his temples, the man explained, "The last test isn't actually a test, what you'll do is pick the courses you want to apply for, and...."
Looking up, the man was surprised to see everyone sitting on the floor. His gaze swept across the room before landing on someone.
"Four-eyes and your boyfriend, I know you don't know what a chair looks like, but please act accordingly, you'll destroy the academy's image if you behave like that." the Man looked at the two boys who spoke up just now with disdain.
Everyone else was sitting on the floor, yet he singled them out.
"Arise." The man commanded, the hexagonal tiles on the floor started to rise
A plethora of seats arranged next to each other, with desks at the front, emerged from the ground
The man continued to explain and gave everyone a chance. While everyone was busy apply, the man finally got up and walked around the room.
Saints academy comprised of two campuses, one focused on training saint while the other focused on teaching other courses.
Despite hell ascending on the world, society still needed people to fill curtain stem jobs. Even saints needed to at least pick a stem job course.
Asher finished applying for his courses. From the corner of his eye, he saw a woman quickly leaving the room.
Sometime passed and everyone received their student numbers, time table, etc.
Everyone relaxed, they had finally became students. The next course of action, was to become saints, fight demons and free the world.
