Chapter 23 - Big Problems

As far as his fellow tribesmen knew, copying special skills was an ability only Seth had.

But copying a simple fighting technique was something that people with great cultivation could do after watching other people's techniques for a few moments.

When Atlas stole the sword of an enemy who attacked him, he copied the movement of that body cultivator and attacked without much power.

When he moved the sword, the space around the blade of that weapon shattered, and four spatial cracks appeared above the four opponents around him.

From these cracks, swords similar to the one in Atlas' hands emerged and slashed at the heads of the men with hidden identities.

The sword in Atlas' hand shattered into many pieces, but his blow had already injured the four enemies.

Atlas remembered Seth's words and avoided the vital points of one of the men but did not spare the other three.

All three were hit in their vital points and died instantly, one of them being sliced vertically by the semi-transparent sword that had appeared above him.

The two blonde women watched with wide eyes, seeing how this strange man could so easily kill opponents they found very difficult to fight.

The sole survivor fell to the ground, his eyes wide open and drenched in sweat as he was pushed by the translucent sword that had appeared from a spatial rift.

"Shit! Please forgive me! Don't kill me!" This man screamed in terror as he tried to keep from screaming in pain from the weapon pinning him to the ground.

He was very scared. The enemy had not only shown great strength but had also mastered the three levels of his sword technique and had easily used the strongest move of that technique.

If such a person could do that, he was in the hands of someone he could not insult under any circumstances!

"Atlas." Seth's voice rang out, and the man who had shocked everyone there changed his expression, feeling that he had let himself get carried away.

"Seth..."

"I thought I told you to go easy on them," Seth commented as he appeared on a branch of one of the nearby trees next to Emery and Dax.

"I'm sorry. I got a little carried away with the situation. But I left a man for you." Atlas pointed to the man who was begging for mercy.

The two blonde women in the area heard this and collapsed to the ground, unable to stand or maintain their strength to fight.

The power displayed by Atlas was too great for either of them to think of standing against it, so they could only wait for these people to decide what would happen.

Seth moved ahead of his group and appeared beside the man in agony.

"Who are you people? Why did you intervene?" Grace asked.

It was time to talk about it!

Atlas said as Seth questioned the dying man. "We are travelers seeking contact, fair lady. Someone to guide us would be very helpful.

We found the two ladies nicer than these six strange fellows, so it was easy to decide which side to help."

Grace felt less suspicious. What Atlas had said was that he had helped them in expectation of something in return. She and her young lady had already acted as mercenaries themselves, trading their strength for things of interest. So it was better for them that they were looking for something to offer.

The idea of one stranger helping another out of interest in something was not uncommon.

"What exactly do you need?" Grace asked as Felicity stared at Seth in silence.

Felicity couldn't help but focus on Seth, seeing how this man had made her last enemy stop screaming and begging for help by placing a hand on his forehead.

As she watched and listened to her personal guard talking to these newcomers, she couldn't help but feel a special attraction coming from Seth's body.

'What is with this person?' She felt an urge to approach him.

While Atlas answered Grace, Emery sighed as she looked at the young blonde woman, wondering what Felicity felt. 'That's the feeling that will make you share your ability with him, girl. Don't get too close, or soon, someone else will be using your powers.'

Atlas said to Grace. "We're going to Rosecoast. Some contacts and pointers in that city would be appreciated."

Grace sighed with relief, for they were returning to Rosecoast after a short trip. As residents of the largest city in the province, they knew the area well enough to attract the attention of this powerful group. "Then we can help you. We're only a few days away from Rosecoast, but we can get to it together.

You must be travelers from far away, right? I can tell you about the city and the most interesting places to visit along the way.

Since you rescued the young lady, you'll be able to access any of them locally, even if you don't reveal your powers." She said, looking primarily at Atlas.

"That will help." Atlas smiled, still acting a little differently than a mainlander would in this situation, but using the opportunity as an experience.

Dax ignored Atlas and Grace and asked Seth in their native language. "So? What kind of trouble have we gotten ourselves into?"

Seth left the body of the man he had just interrogated and stood up, looking at the young blonde focused on him. "Big trouble, I suppose. This woman is the daughter of someone powerful in the province. The group that attacked her is part of a rival faction that wants her father's position. They would kidnap her before taking the final step in their plans and taking action to dominate the province."

"Oh?" Dax looked at the beautiful young blonde with interest, not expecting to get involved in something so big by trying to win the favor of someone who stood in their way. "And now?"

"Now we'll see what we can get out of it. However problematic, her father or his enemies may know how to direct us to the best place. They're in Rosecoast, so we still have the same place to go through." Seth commented as he approached Felicity and Grace.

"My name is Seth, and these are Dax, Levi, Atlas, and Emery. We are explorers traveling through the province. Please, don't be surprised by our ignorance of local affairs." He indicated his companions and smiled.

"This one is called Grace." The middle-aged woman said as she introduced herself before showing her miss. "And this is my young lady, Felicity. Don't be so modest, Senior. You saved us, so we'll do our best to get you to Rosecoast."

"Hmm." Seth nodded at her. "Are there more of you, or is it just the two of you? If there aren't, we can rest a bit and get back on the road."

"Unfortunately, there aren't more people with us... They're all dead." Grace said sadly, having lost her companion to that group minutes ago. "Those damn assassins almost wiped us out!"

"That's my fault," Felicity said for the first time since Seth's group arrived, sighing with regret.
