Chapter 25 - Arrival in Rosecoast

After a few days of uneventful travel, the group arrived at Rosecoast at the beginning of a rainy night.

But even at night and in the heavy rain, Seth and his companions observed with interest this place that was at least four times the size of Lastwood.

Even at night, the group could see a large illuminated area of the city, where special lamps lighted the main streets, and those on the outskirts had whale oil lamps that brought light into the darkness.

There wasn't much movement in the streets of Rosecaost now, as it was night, and the heavy rain falling on the province's capital would 'scare' anyone interested in leaving their house.

But a few people could be seen here and there in the more central streets of the city, where taverns and other establishments, such as the local mercenary guild, had their doors open and a few people around.

The smell of this place was also very different from Lastwood, which was a small city that smelled of nature, different from Rosecoast, which smelled like the big cities.

"This is my city," Felicity said to the group, feeling much more comfortable with these people after days of traveling together.

"This place shouldn't be big or developed compared to where you came from, but it has a little of everything. Grace and I will take you to the most important places you might want to pass through over the next few days. Before that, it might be interesting for you to learn a bit about the local situation on our property." She suggested as Atlas led the way to the Pennel estate on the city's south coast.

The people in Seth's group said nothing, keeping their origins a secret.

They had spent time in Lastwood to learn how to behave in front of the people of Ihaes. Now that they knew the basics of this society, they would not risk revealing their origins to anyone.

On the surface, they were just a group of explorers traveling the continent for no particular purpose, just to get to know this vast continent.

Felicity and Grace thought they came from somewhere bigger and more developed than their city.

Levi then asked. "Does your father know the king, Felicity?"

Felicity looked at the youngest member of the group and answered. "Yes, my father isn't exactly a friend of His Royal Majesty, but he has met him several times. All the nobles in my father's position have regular meetings with him, so they are very close to our leader."

Seth was interested and asked. "What about you? Do you know things about the king because of your father? We're thinking of going to the capital of the dynasty. If you can tell us anything to help us get there, I'd appreciate it."

Felicity found these people's interest in the king a little unusual and even thought of some strange things. Seth's group Should be powerful enough to undertake dangerous journeys...

But what she knew, many others in the kingdom also knew, so they would get those answers with or without her help.

From her point of view, it was better for her to tell them and maybe win their favor!

"I don't know many things. But His Majesty is said to be a brilliant man. He is a dedicated scholar who studies the cultivation way, the continent, and ancient legends in his spare time.

He is influential and knows several rulers on the continent. Some are his allies, while others he has problems with or doesn't know very well.

These relationships make him a rather dangerous person to deal with. He knows things and is involved with powerful people who can turn the world upside down with their decisions."

"He sounds like an interesting person, doesn't he?" Dax commented to Seth as they both thought that if Felicity's father couldn't help them, the king would be their next target.

'Moses will probably go straight to that person...' Seth thought to himself. 'I just hope he doesn't get in our way.'

Seth knew that Moses would go to the king because of Emery and the information they had before when they were in the same group.

The differences between the two were not where they wanted to go but how they wanted to get to certain places.

Seth saw the dynasty king as a target for his group. But he intended to approach the king through friendly contact, whereas Moses would probably go directly to the man demanding things.

Seth wasn't sure where these different strategies would lead them. But he believed that his method would be safer for him and his companions and would eventually lead them to where he wanted to go.

He wasn't in such a hurry and was only slightly worried about what Moses would do to the king.

'I hope that guy doesn't make things difficult for us...' Seth closed his eyes until his group arrived at the Pennel estate, and Felicity showed them the way.

The moment they arrived at the Duke's estate, several people on the estate moved as Felicity's father appeared to greet them.

News of the deaths of the men in her party had already spread, and everyone in the family was worried about her and Grace's current situation!

"My daughter!" An elderly-looking man with gray hair, wrinkles in his eyes, and a thin body shouted as he saw the blonde girl getting off the strange carriage that had just arrived at the gate of his estate.

Meanwhile, Grace appeared next to Felicity with a rather complicated look on her face. She didn't know whether to show happiness about returning alive or regret for the people she had lost before Atlas rescued her.

Seth's group then left their vehicle in silence, watching these people and noticing the peculiarities in the environment, from those with special powers to those wearing strange items that could change their appearance.

"Who are they?" The Duke worried that these were problems for him to solve.

But then Felicity explained to her father, "These are some friends we've made recently. They helped us with our problems and escorted us back into the city, Father."

"Oh?" The look on Duke Pennel's expression changed, a friendly smile forming on his lips.

"So you're friends of my family! Come here! Let's have a drink to celebrate Felicity's return!" The Duke said as he pointed to Seth's person, not giving them time to introduce themselves.
