"We have to kill one gig, bro," Jason grumbled as he slammed the Lexus door shut.
"And pray tell, which one is it gonna be?" Abel answered, getting out of the car and heading toward the trunk.
Jason stayed silent for a moment, though it was clear from his expression that he knew what he was suggesting wasn't possible.
"I do know, man... It feels like I've never known rest. I mean, even seeing a homeless guy sitting around doing nothing makes me envious," Jason admitted as they started unpacking their gear.
Abel mulled over Jason's words.
Life was a double-dealing bitch, he thought.
Rarely, if ever, did it give anything for free. Just a few months ago, he would've given anything to make some real money.
