(Asaka Point of View)
He doesn't react to what I almost did so hopefully that means he didn't see it. I really hope he didn't. What's wrong with me? I should be able to keep myself under control but at the same time he is already here, I could just say that he has moved so he can't. work there anymore and then he will have to stay with me. Or I could say that he has died. No, I shouldn't do that. If his mom finds that would be a bad first impression and a lot of explaining. Plus, I don't want to scare him off. I can't do anything too extreme, endless that is something or someone gets in my way from having him.
"I'm sorry. I forgot to say thank you. Again. Thank you for getting me the milk and getting me the muffins." I almost didn't hear him speak. I look down at him.
"It's fine ba-darling. After all, I'm sure you are focusing on your burned hand more than anything else." What was that? I just said that I need to get my stuff together and I almost call him baby. I really need to calm down.
"Are you sure? After all, you have done more than needed to help me out."
"I'm sure. After all, seeing you safe is enough."
"Thank you."
"Of course." He is very thoughtful. Making sure that he apologized and said thank you. He is so cute. I love him so much. Wait what? No, I don't. Well, that's a lie. I should go back to eating.
When we are both done eating, I see him heading to the kitchen. I follow him. Does he want more? He would have asked me. I should ask him.
"Where are you going?"
"To get some coffee."
I did some research into Slovenian culture and they do drink coffee and alcohol a lot. I didn't think that he would still follow those habits as he isn't there anymore but I guess that is what most of his childhood was so it makes sense. Next time I go shopping, I should make sure to get everything he does for his coffee. "Oh. You normally drink coffee in the morning. You don't seem very tired though."
"I know I don't and that's because I'm not tired but I get coffee every morning. No matter what."
"I can make it for you."
"That's fine. I can do it myself."
I see him smile at me as he goes to make his coffee. I stay by him the entire time. I know I don't need to be over his shoulder and I should give him space but I know how hot my coffee pot can get and I don't want him burning himself again. I should give him some space and that might be good for me as well. After all, I need to get a hand on myself.
When the coffee is done, my cutie starts making his coffee. He takes a drink out of it. I can see his face change for a second. I guess I don't have what he normally puts in it. He looks over to me.
"Are you going to get coffee as well? After all, there is still coffee in the pot."
I look at him in surprise. "Sure. I have no reason not to."
I see him go back out into the living room. I make myself a cup. Does this mean we are on some kind of date? I feel like I read something about that. No, we are just drinking coffee together. I soon head out into the living room. I see him waiting for me with his coffee down. I sit down next to him. He smiles at me as he takes a drink of his coffee. I start drinking mine as well. Should I talk with him or just enjoy my coffee? I mean he did wait for me so maybe there is something that he wants to talk about. I set my coffee down on the table.
"I have a question for you about your name?" I might already know everything that I need to know but I want to hear it from him.
"What is it?"
"Where is your name from?"
"Well it's Slovenian so it is from the Republic of Slovenia"
I pretend to sound surprised. "Oh? Did you grow up there?"
"Well, I was there for a few years."
"How was it? What was it like?"
"Well, my mom grew up there so she has better memory and follows the culture better than I do. I still follow some and I know Slovenian."
He didn't really answer my question. Does he not want to think about it or something? "Do you ever want to go back?"
I see him pause for a moment. "Yes, I do."
"Do you miss it?"
"Kind of, yes."
"You know, I can take you there." I really hope this is a good move.
He looks at me confused. "Why? And how?"
I close my eyes as I smile at him, unable to lie, and look him in the eyes as I start speaking, "Well I have plans on doing some traveling so I have the money to plus, it would be nice for you to go back to where you grew up." I really hope I didn't just mess this up. If I did, I would have to do some more extreme things to get him to stay. No, I need to stay calm. I can't scare him away.
He looks down at his lap. "You don't need to do that. Plus, I like it here."
I pause for a second. I was going to speak when my phone rings. "I'm sorry. I should go take this."
"Take your time."
