As the sun started to rise over Garbell Village, in a well-kept hut towards the back of the village slept a man with long black hair.
Suddenly his eye shot open, and he sat up in the bed. "Something is coming". He started to get up, "what, oh this could get interesting."
He fished his shirt out of his bag and headed to the door.
Joseph moved to the door and step outside, the hut next door opened and out step Sabina Mycoth looking like she never even slept.
He glanced at her. "Are you sensing it too?"
Their eyes met.
"Yes, something's coming that going to make this interesting." She smiled looking away.
Together they started to move, they walked just a few steps when a voice came from behind them.
"So, this is going to be an interesting morning." Standing a short distance away was Jonathan Thompson.
He smiled at them and came closer.
"Well, we are a fine group so early in the morning." Joseph said as they started to move.
"We better talk to Damian," said Sabrina.
"Either of you got any idea what it actually is." Joseph asked.
"No, it's fairly big and not something that I would expect to be around here." Said Jonathan smiling "after all most of the things around here are really weak."
They approach a decorative hut and Joseph knocked on the door and called out "Damian, you awake?"
The door opened slightly, and Damian appeared in the crack. As he saw all of them standing just outside, he pulled the door all the way open.
"What going on, come on in?" Damian said moving back into the hut.
As Damian went over to his pack and took out a dark over shirt and pulled it on, the others moved in to the hut.
"How are your sense abilities Damian." Sabrina asked as she took a seat on the edge of the bed.
Damian turned to look at them, "I'm not bad but have a pretty limited range why?" He stared at them all.
"Ah, ok" Sabrina moved slightly "well a short while ago we all started to feel something on the edge of our senses, and that something is making it closer."
"Is that really anything special?" Damian said as he sat in the chair by the window.
"Let's just say that what's coming isn't, hmm, normally found around here." Jonathan said as he pulled out the other chair by the table.
"What?" Damian exclaimed looking between them all.
"Yes, whatever it is, it is not something that I think they will easily handle in this village." Said Joseph as he leant up against the closed door.
They sat in silence for a short while. "Ok so what do we do then." Damian asked as he moved to stand up.
They all looked at each other for a short while.
"Damian, there is not much we can do right now." Joseph said, "All we can do right now is wait and see, all we really have to go on right now are our sense and that not any solid evidence."
"Alright, so we will wait and see what happens as the day goes on." Sabrina said, she moved to stand.
"For now, that is it, we are all supposed to leave today anyway, and we can't actually delay that without problems." Jonathan said as he stretched.
"Damian, can you be ready to relay a message if the need arises." Joseph questioned.
"Yes, I can do that with a little preparation." Damian answered.
"Can you get it ready just in case." Joseph said as he moved to the centre of the room.
"I will" Damian said.
"Alright we are short on time anyway in just under 5 hours, we will be leaving with our newest members. For now, we will keep an eye on the situation and prepare to leave with the newest students." Joseph sighed
"Damian it might be best if your group aims to stick close to one of ours, at least while we are picking up a warning for the area."
"Alright I'll think about it" Damian said as they headed out the the hut.
After they all left Joseph headed out towards the gate.
'Maybe I should have a look in the surrounding forest.'
As he neared the gate Joseph slowed down as he heard the guards talking to one of the youths from yesterday's testing.
' Isn't that one of my new students.'
"Stop talking nonsense boy" the guard hiss at boy. "Malikia's don't live in this area."
'Malikia! Could it be. Has this boy really seen a Malikia!'
"But sir" Before the boy could say anymore the guard started to advance on him. With his weapon drawn.
"Enough, I will hear no more nonsense from you." The guard glowered "Get away from here immediately."
Joseph watched the boy backing away from the gate and stand there staring at the guards.
'I wonder what the boy will do now.'
Just as he was watching the boy who appeared to be in the middle of a dilemma, his sense perception changed.
'What! Now there are four of them.'
'Well, I will have to talk to this boy as see what he has to say.'
Joseph twisted his wrist and a red glow appeared and took on the form of a raven.
"Go to Damian, Sabrina and Jonathan tell them to meet me at the gate, things just took an unexpected turn."
As he finished speaking and red glow of a raven vanished into the village, Joseph saw from the corner of his eye that the boy was moving.
'Hmm, so what choice have you made.'
Before the boy could even say anything though, the guard bet him to it.
"Stop right there," said the guard to the boy. "Where do you think you are going".
"Sir?" The boy stood just a short a distance away from the gate looking bewildered.
"You aren't welcome here boy." The guard shifted his weapon.
"You are not to enter the village," the guard snorted, "if you think I'm letting you in, to start spreading lies you have another thing coming."
The guard moved forward with his weapon pointing at the boy. "Back away from the gate, no one is going to let you in."
Joseph stood there in bewilderment.
'What is happening here, why is the guard baring a member of the village entry.'
"What's happing Joseph? "Asked Jonathan who had just appeared beside him.
"I would also like to know that?" Sabrina said as she moves into view with Damian just behind her.
They looked at Joseph, who just kept looking out the gate at the boy and the guard. For a few seconds Joseph just stood there before turning to them.
"We need to talk to the boy over there, if I remember correctly his name was Aven." Joseph said as he turned back to look at the boy.
They looked at one another before Jonathan final ask what they were all thinking.
"Why's that Joseph?"
"Malikia" was all he said as he moved forward.
The others stared after him in disbelief.
