'What what am I meant to do now'. Aven stared wide eyed at the guard who was still advancing towards him.
'If I can't even enter the village not only, will I be unable to warn anyone, I won't make it to the meet-up either'.
Just then.
"What was that you said young man" came a voice from by the gate.
The guard jumped hearing someone coming up behind him and turned.
Standing there was the guests from the academic institutions, Aven couldn't help but to stare.
Will they listen.'
"Sirs, I'm very sorry about this, this is not something that you should worry about. I'm sorry that this" the guard shot a look at Aven before continuing "unruly boy has disturbed you."
Joseph Randall looked at the guard for a second before speaking "I don't know if what the boy said is accurate, but I can definitely say that it's a possibility."
Here he paused and the guard paled.
"We have sensed a being that is significantly stronger than the average creatures around here. At first, we only felt one but now I know there are four of them."
Aven stared as Joseph Randall waved his hand and a red mist formed into a raven.
'This may actually work after all they have sensed something too.'
"Go to village chief Dean tell him I need to talk to him now." Joseph said and the raven disappeared.
"Now then Aven wasn't it? Why don't you tell us what you were mentioning to guard a short while ago."
They all starred at Aven who gulped at being at the centre of attention.
Aven took a deep breath and focused on the people in front of him.
"Yes sir, when I awoke this morning, on the edge of the clearing I was camping in was a young Malikia, sir."
"What do you mean, why where you in the forest sleeping?" Sabrina asked.
Aven looked at them in confusion.
"I always sleep in the forest."
———————————————————
'What, why would any youngster from the village be constantly sleeping in the forest and not in the protection of the walls.'
Joseph looked to the guard's looking for an explanation but all he saw was their defiant expression.
'Surely not'
He turned to look at his companion and saw his own expressions looking back at him.
"Alright, putting that to one side for now, where was this clearing and describe what you saw for us" Joseph asked.
Aven point to his right.
"the clearing is roughly a mile from the tree barrier, when I woke up, I saw a creature that was feline in shape, it had eyes of fire red, and it had burgundy fur."
As the boy spoke Joseph listened attentively.
'He sounds like he is being truthful.'
Joseph turned to his companions.
"what do you all think?"
"Well, that could explain what we sensed this morning although there appears to be more of them now, which is definitely a cause for concern," said Jonathan with his head cocked to one side.
"That is true, although soon enough we will know as they are still heading this way." Sabrina said crossing her arms.
Behind them a commotion broke out, then from the gate appeared Village Chief Dean.
"What is going on here." He exclaimed as he came close to them .
———————————————————
Aven stood to one side as Village Chief Dean was talking to the guests from the Academic Institutions.
He was so confused he just didn't know what to do.
Aven's eyes suddenly widened, and he jumped back.
As he landed, he brought his dagger up in front of him.
'How, how did it get so close without me sensing it '
Standing in front of him was a malikia but this one wasn't the youngster that he had first seen.
'But this is not the youngster that I sensed was the closest, so where did this one come from.'
The malikia struck out at Aven it claws ranking through the air, showing the long claws that were hiding from sight.
This malikia was over 2 meter in length and stood taller than Aven even while it was hunch down.
Aven dagger and the malikia's claws collided and Aven found himself pushed back. As he skids, he struggled to hold the claws away from him.
Just before the claws reached his face the malikia fell of balance and hit the floor, almost taking Aven with it but at the last second, he managed to remove his dagger.
"Move back Kid" came a female shout from over by the gate.
'I so badly want to, but I can't outrun it and I have to get past it to get near the village'.
'I need to make sure that I keep my eye on it more than run, at least then I have a chance of getting out of this'.
The Malikia reclaimed it feet as wavered its eyes moving between Aven and were it was attacked from, it starred at where the guests where all of whom where in a fighting stance except for Damian who was now situated by the gate.
Joseph moved forward he held in his hand a sword that glowed golden in the light. Sabrina moved information with him welding dual daggers as they slowly advanced.
Jonathon stood behind them his hand raise and the residue of a magic spell dispersing away.
The malikia final made its choice and rounded on Aven again.
'What ? It's moving even faster this time' Aven thought as he barely manged to dodge to the side.
'I have to do something, or I will die here'
Avens dagger intercepted the claw coming at him again but this time he just managed to deflect the claws away.
Aven's sense narrowed done and the world fell away till all that he could see is the Malikia that stood in front of him, as he focused on the malikia it seemed to slow down.
'What is this, why does this feel just that little bit easier'.
The malikia struck out a few more times, Aven managed to avoid them but his instincts suddenly started screaming and Aven lunged forward with a roll.
As he regained his feet, his dagger now was coated with blood.
"Well done kid" Joseph said as his sword stop the malikia from reaching Aven's back.
"Watch closely, maybe you'll learn something new" said Sabrina as she ran to attack the malikia.
Sabrina's daggers flashed as she targeted the legs, and Joseph pushed the creature away the second she was clear.
It fell away and then a lightning spell came from the side and Joseph brought his sword down as the malikia was stun on the floor.
'Wow just like that they, finished the fight' Aven starred in disbelief.
