Right after I got her out, Cana began moving her arms around my body frantically, checking for wounds.
"Are you alright?" she asked, looking really worried.
"Yeah, not a scratch," I said. I can't deny that I was a bit smug when I said it.
"Where are the others?" she asked.
"Nah, I came alone." Came my reply immediately.
"Alone..."
"Yeah, I did."
I should have taken the hint when she said "alone" in a slow manner.
"KARNA VERMILLION, WHAT THE HELL WERE YOU THINKING??"
YEP, guessed it too late.
"DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT IDIOTIC THINGS YOU WERE PLANNING ON DOING? WHAT IF THERE WERE MORE PEOPLE..."
And that continued for a few minutes. I would have cracked a joke to reduce the tension, but when I saw her tearing up in the middle of scolding me, I shut my mouth. She must have been really tense; the girl still has not grown up to be the Cana I saw in the anime. She is a teenage girl right now who will be afraid of this type of situation, even if she is a wizard.
As her voice started losing intensity and her tears started increasing, I went ahead and hugged her tight. I then said in her ear,
"You can cry now. Don't worry, I am here." I just patted her head softly.
Then she started crying on my shoulder, and I kept patting her slowly. After some time, she stopped crying and wiped her tears with her sleeves. Seeing this makes me want to go back and torture Ivan even more to make sure he never comes back to the world of the living again.
"You alright now?" I asked her softly.
"Mmm." She just nodded.
I then gave her the cards I got from the other room, which she put back in a compartment in her belt. Reminds me of cardfighter animes a bit. I wonder if she can replicate that, but thoughts on that later—right now, we need to go back.
"Come on, let's go."
"What about Ivan?"
"Like I said, I took care of him. He won't bother anyone ever again."
Cana felt like she had to say something, but then she shook her head and held my hand.
"Let's go back," she said.
"Yeah, let's go."
Returning to the guild, their reactions were hectic as hell. Cornelia was hugging Cana while crying. Ur and a few members went to the house to look for Ivan and only found the dead body I killed. I guess Ivan had backers, and if my guess is right, it must be Hades.
In the canon, it was said that Ivan learned about Lumen Histoire from Hades.
Gray and Ultear seemed a bit mad that I did not call them for help. Cornelia hugged me a lot and thanked me for saving her daughter.
After everyone calmed down and went back to rest since it was late, Ur, Macao, Wakabe, and I got together to discuss this.
Macao: "Do you think it was a coincidence?"
Ur: "With this type of accurate timing? Not in the least."
Wakabe: "One of the council members had called for this emergency meeting, which separated Master and Gildarts from the guild."
Karna: "Laxus was also called for a special A-class mission. The guy who gave the mission was a butler of a council member."
Ur: "Do you know who the council member was?"
Karna: "It was Aldrin, I guess."
"""Son of a bitch!"""
Karna: "What?!"
Ur: "That bastard always had a problem with guilds with strong members. He was one of the reasons for the disbandment of my old guild."
Macao: "He also created a lot of problems for the guild as much as he was able to and always hid behind his authority as a council member."
Wakabe: "He was also responsible for many of the wizards of Master's generation leaving the guild, but they didn't give up and started their own guilds to counter him."
Karna: "What do we do now?"
Macao: "As much as I'd like to smash that idiot's face in myself, fighting a council member is hard to get out of. The best we can do is tell Master about it."
Wakabe: "I'll go and send the message."
After Wakabe left, there was silence for a few moments. Suddenly, Ur grinned and turned toward me.
Ur: "I heard the kid had the courage to hold a girl's hand today."
Macao: "Haha, you know that is extremely lewd for your age, right?"
Macao said with a mischievous grin.
Ur: "What do you think will happen when Gildarts finds out?"
Macao: "Probably a few broken bones."
Ur: "I bet the spine."
Macao: "Deal."
I can't believe these people are betting on my future injuries right in front of me.
In the Capital City of Fiore
An intense amount of magic began to be emitted by two people, making the entire capital alert to danger. A few of the soldiers began sweating a lot.
Makarov and Gildarts were sitting in a room with the message from Wakabe in their hands. They were tense when they heard that Cana had been kidnapped and were thinking about finding a space-type magician to teleport.
Makarov was even considering risking the identity of his spy in the council to do it. Gildarts was thinking about spamming his Crush Magic to create a hole in space like Karna once suggested, but Makarov stopped him by talking about all the risks that would cause.
Thankfully, a letter came talking about the safety of the children, but the fact that it was planned and caused by a council member made their anger soar.
Gildarts: "Master, what's stopping us from killing that bastard now?"
Makarov: "The future of our children. If not, they would have begged for death by now. I would have made them see hell." Makarov growled.
"But if that bastard thinks he can get away with it, he is making a big mistake."
Makarov took out a crystal sphere with a lot of branches surrounding it.
"Master Warrod, your family requires your help."
The normally joking voice came out as a serious sound from the crystal.
"What happened?"
