Chapter 33 - Chapter 31 - Morning......

I got up very early this morning and for unknown reason, I can't go back to sleep. All I can do right now is to get up, which is annoying since I would rather to get more rest to not tire myself up.

Apparently, life refuses to listen to my request and I had to deal with it. I yawned quietly, making sure I didn't woke them up.

Still can't believe I'm out of that accursed forest and on an adventure with two powerful people.

I rub my eyes before getting up and looking around. Good, no monsters nearby. I then look at the stone dagger on the ground. I think I may have accidentally drop that last night...

I grab it and stares at it for a while. Both Liza and Eric are monsters in strength and I'm just a Kobold. I can't help but feeling doubt about myself. Will I going to hold them back because I'm weak?

I got up and walk around the forest before noticing a wild boar. I'm not going to hold them back, me being weak is not enough excuse. I grip my dagger and starts to rush towards the boar with the intent to kill.

Eric's POV

When I woke up from my rest, I expect nothing much other than few animals passing by, a monster almost ambushes us, or enemies get too close to Miss Elizabeth.

What I don't expect is Sir Darren sitring next to the campfire while cutting down a dead boar, and there's like 6 more right besides him. Did he woke up early just to hunt down food?

"Oh, you woke up....." Day by day, he gets closer to speak in full sentences without any difficulties. It was amazing of how a Kobold manage to gain intellect in the first place.

It's like a human somehow possess the body and try to adjust to their new body. But, then again, it's only possible if you're undead and I don't smell a hint of rotten flesh coming from him or sense a sinister mana from him. And there won't be any traces of fur on his dead skin.

Speaking of mana, he is quite an anomaly. Forgot a sinister mana of a necromancer, I can't sense any traces of mana coming out of him.

Miss Elizabeth have taught me the basics of mana, including sensing it, but no matter how many times I try to sense any traces of mana from him, there's nothing. I thought that he manages to learn how to hid his mana, but no matter how good you are, he can't stay concentrated to suppress his mana while asleep.

I would like to ask, but I don't want to sound rude to him. So, I simply stay quiet.

Then, what happens last night. When I heard from Miss Elizabeth, I was surprise that a Kobold manage to slaughter a group of bandit or warriors in disguise alone. I was at first skeptical, but after seeing him manages to keep up with my speed and tied, my skeptism were gone.

Then let's not forget, the weird mana emits from his bag. I don't know what it is, but I don't feel comfortable towards it. All I know is that it's strong, and this Kobold carries it on his bag like its just a luggage.

He must've have a crazy amount of strength in mana and aura to do such thing, and amazing control to keep it hidden.

"Umm, Eric?" I snaps out of ny thought before looking back at Darren. He gave me a confused look while tilting his head and lowers his ears.

...for some reason, he looks like a confused puppy. To think he has such deadly weapon, his own cuteness!

Back to Darren's POV

I raised my eyebrow as Eric shakes his head while taking a deep breath. I am so confused at what he's thinking right now, but my instinct tells me that I don't want to know.

"Sorry, sir Darren. Have a lot in my mind." You just woke up and have a lot in mind, what kind of dream or nightmare did he just witness? "And sorry for letting you do all the works."

"No need....I was bored." I said while coughing. I grab a makeshift bottle from my bag and drink.

"Still hurts?" I simply nodded as Eric sits next to me, grabbing his own dagger and helps to cut the meat.

"Thanks...." I mutter as Eric nodded.

".....sir Darren, where did you learn how to fight?" Eric suddenly asked.

"Watch a human....learn it myself....." I said without more explanation. Then again, it's how my teacher taught me.

"....you're getting more and more incredible." Eric's words caught me off guard. Of all things I expect from him, that's not one od them.

"It's not...that incredible...." I said bashfully. "I'm still weak...."

".....trust me, you are far from weak." With my track record, I doubt it. We continue to cut the boars till we finally manage to finish it all before Eric went somewhere without saying a word.

The moment I start to roast the boar meat, Liza immediately woke up and sleepily walk near the campfire and tries to grab the meat. I simply grab her wrist gently, stopping her from eating any.

"Why....?" I can't help but chuckles hearing her whined.

"Clean yourself up first before you eat the food." Liza pouted before walking towards the river, somehow still half asleep. As I continue to roast the meat, I can't help but feel something was going to happen.

"KYAAAA!!!" I cover my ears in pain from the suddenly loud scream. Okay, what the hell just happen!? I got up and immediately run towards the scream, which is a nearby water source.

As I get there, I immediately look away. Turns out, Liza was going to take a bath but didn't notices Eric, who was taking a bath on the river.

Seriously, why is this happening in the first place!? I just leave them alone as they continue to scream. I may see them as friends, but this is something I refuse to get myself involved.
