I stare at Hanzo with an impassive stare while gripping my dagger tightly.
"At the ancient time, the Shinobi tribes were once wage war against each other. Each tribes represents 5 main elements of this world, Fire, Water, Earth, Dark, and Light." I listens to his story as he swings his spear on me, but I block it.
"Their wars last for centuries, so many shinobi died for their tribes. All because of one thing they wanted so badly. The forbidden shinobi scroll." I raise my eyebrow as he suddenly grabs my wrist and flip me off. He try to stabs me but I rolled away and I pull out my spear.
"It was said that the scroll provides a knowledge for unimaginable powers. Each shinobi tribes believe that it was hidden in one of their tribes' land." He charges at me and follow up with a spear swing. I block it with my spear by digging its end on the ground before I use my other arm to stabs him, but he protects himself using his wristguard.
"But, at that bleak history, 5 shinobis from each tribes try to discovers the true reason of the war." I grit my teeth as he starts to overpower me. I decided to kneed him and follow up with a kick, sending him back a few feets away.
"They went on a seperate journey, finding clues of the scroll's whereabout." I pulls out the spear to block his incoming charges, his hand almost reach my face. I widen my eyes as the spear's length suddenly shrunk as Hanzo try to stab me. I try to block it with my dagger, but all it did is redirect it away from my vital area, scratching my side.
I wince as Hanzo pulls back his now short blade before take a step back with his blade is now coated with some sort of black energy. I switch my grip into a reverse grip and swing upward as Hanzo swings his blade down.
Ninpo - Kage no Ha
I widen my eyes as he not only overpowers my swing, but he manages to land a shallow cut on my shoulder. I grit my teeth in pain before jumping back few feets away, grabbing my healing concoction and swallow it in one go.
"They manage to find where the scroll truly is, but they encounter a powerful foe. A demon from the underworld. They found out that she is truly the reason why the shinobies are at war, as she spreads the false propechy about one ninja tribe gaining the scroll of ultimate power." I can't help but feel surprise at where the story goes. If that's true, then the demons in this world are far more cunning.
I throw several stone daggers at Hanzo, who simply knocks it away. I follow up with few arrows, but all he did is slice it up.
"The five shinobi manages to defeat the demon and seals her at the center of the warzone, with each villages act as the catalyst of the seals." Okay, I am so not expecting those.
"They brought the scroll into the villages and all of the shinobis shows what was inside the scroll." I can't help but getting more curious about what's inside the scroll. "It was nothing."
"....eh!?" I can't hide my shock. What do you mean by nothing!? Are you trying to tell me that the shinobi war was all for nothing!?
"Indeed, it was nothing. All of the shinobis were furious at the fact that the wars are all for nothing. Everyone could only fell despair about the fact, and I was one of them." I stare at Hanzo in surprise.
"Is....that why you're here?" I can't help but asked.
"It's more than that." He charges at me and try to strike me again, but I knocks his attack away. He follows up with a stab and and a claw attack, but I stop him by grabbing his wrist to stop the blade and stabs his palm. As we lock on this position, I can't help notices something inside the shrine....
"I banish myself. I wasn't able to handle all the shame my family and I have brought upon our village. We all kill other tribes at the war, all for what? A blank scroll!!?" I wince as Hanzo's tone become furious as he grips his stabbed hand tighter. "I swore myself to never go back to the village. I continue to let myself rot to death as a punishment."
He twist his now dagger at my hand, but I let go and push him away from me. This cause my dagger to pulled out from his hand and takes off some of his finger. There's still no trace of blood on him.
"But it seems that I would never allow to die.....I remain stuck in this world no matter what I did." This made me feels bad for him. To be consumed by guilt and came back to haunt this shrine because of the sheer guilt he felt.
"I am tired.....staying here for a long time." I feel my heart clench at the ghost's tone. "I know my sins will never will be forgiven and I know I don't deserves anything for it. So, young Kobold...end me. Be the hero that punish his enemy."
I stop myself as I can feel my grip loosen. I could only see Hanzo giving me a tired stare at me. He really wants this to end.
"...I will not end you as my enemy." I mutter while gripping my dagger. "I'll....be the one who free you.....from the chains of mortal realm....."
Hanzo stare at me as I points my dagger at him, a wide grin plastered on my face.
".....so, instead of wallowing yourself.....in self pity...focus on me....." I snarls at him. "....so you could get a proper warrior's end....."
".....why? Why would you....?" Hanzo asked.
".....you deserve better...." I replied. "...everyone does...."
"...no, I don't....." Hanzo mutter before pointing his spear at me.
"You do...war is everywhere.....people participate for their kingdom.....country.....tribes...family....." I said as Hanzo narrowed his eyes.
"What do you know?" Hanzo growls.
"This shrines...it's for your family, is it?" This made Hanzo froze. "It's a shrine not for you...but your family....died during the war....."
Back then, I notices some of the daggers I throw got sent into the shrine and at the inside, it shows a woman and a baby, but there's no Hanzo.
"I'm sorry....I didn't mean to do that...but, it fuel my determination.....to free you...." I said as I grip my dagger. "....so you can see them again..."
