"Wait for me," Tierney pleaded, the cold night air biting at her skin as she chased after the man who had just dropped her off at her place.
Despite his occasional troublesome nature, she couldn't help but love Dean. Dean, with her dark brown, almost black hair, and mesmerizing icy blue eyes, always had a way of making Tierney's heart flutter.
"What now, Tierney?" Dean said, attempting to conceal her British accent.
Tierney found it amusing when Dean tried to mask that distinctive accent. Nevertheless, Dean, with her charm, was the only one capable of making Tierney's heart skip a beat.
"I thought you might want this for your neck," Tierney said, her breath visible in the chilly air as she caught up to Dean.
"Thanks, I'll wear it no matter what," Dean replied with a smile as she accepted the bluish-gray necklace with her name.
"Are you just saying that, Dean, or are you being difficult?" Tierney glared at her, knowing her tough exterior didn't work on her. "If not, just tell me, okay?"
"I do like it," Dean chuckled, taking the necklace from Tierney's hand. "If I didn't, I wouldn't have loved you for this long."
Dean and her cheesy lines always made Tierney smile, reminiscent of the days when they first met.
As they strolled down the dimly lit street, the only illumination coming from the light posts, Dean abruptly halted without uttering a word.
"What's the matter, Dean?"
"There's someone following us," she said, scanning both sides of the street. "I sense someone here, but I can't see them."
Tierney couldn't feel anyone around them. Perhaps she was too focused on Dean to notice someone watching them.
"So, Dean, you're smarter than I thought," a deep, dark voice echoed from a distant lamppost.
"Why does that voice sound so familiar?" Tierney questioned, trying to identify the person.
"Who are you, and what do you want?" Dean demanded, moving Tierney to the bushes beside her.
Tierney hoped it wasn't the Suits trying to drag them back to her father. Why now, after months of leaving the group to start a new life?
"So you don't recognize me, Dean Duke," the person said, stepping closer into the light. She was a Hispanic woman with light brown hair, clad in a tannish brown suit. It couldn't be. Out of all people, they sent this dumb twin.
"Jessie, you found us; how long has it been?" Dean smiled, an expression that hinted at impending violence.
"Almost five years and ten days," Jessie laughed with a smirk. "Cut the act, Dean. Where is it?"
"I don't know what you're talking about, Jessie," Dean replied, confusion replacing her earlier expression.
"Yes, you do, so stop acting like a little shit and tell me!" Jessie's anger flared.
"Jessie, I really don't know what you're talking about," Dean said, looking at Tierney with genuine confusion.
"Dean, you're pissing me off!" Jessie's anger turned demonic.
"Jessie, Dean doesn't know because I have it, and I didn't tell her," Tierney intervened, stepping in front of Dean. "Remember when the elixir disappeared? I took it and used it for us."
Tears welled up, but Tierney couldn't hold them back. Dean saw her face, with puffy green eyes and curly red hair from running after her. But she had to confess.
"What are you talking about? Used it for us?" Dean's blank expression revealed her lack of knowledge.
"How could she? I never told her what I did or planned to do. I left her in the dark because I thought she would stop me."
"It's time I told you the truth. I used the elixir on both of us, and now we will have a baby, Dean," Tierney smiled, moving the hair out of her face.
"No, you bastard, you fucking bastard, you used it!" Jessie shouted with anger. "Now I have to do what I'm supposed to do. Nice knowing you guys."
As Jessie spoke, the air grew colder, turning the surroundings icy.
Jessie pulled a dagger from her suit, the blade resembling ice as it sailed through the cold air. Dean dodged it skillfully.
"Nice one, but you're still too slow, Jessie," Dean grinned, a tone of laughter in her voice. "My turn."
Dean retrieved a knife from her pocket, a dark mist enveloping the blade as she threw it at Jessie.
"Damn it, that was close," Tierney said, wiping tears from her face.
"You're good for being off the team," Jessie laughed with a smirking smile. "Now you will die."
With a whisper, Jessie threw a moon-shaped blade from her suit. It whistled through the air, piercing Dean with immense force, throwing her back. The moon-shaped blade went through Dean's stomach, hitting the light post behind her.
"NO…NO…DEAN…NO…NO…!" Tierney cried out as Dean fell to the ground.
As Dean hit the ground, Tierney threw a star-shaped blade with a flick of her wrist. The tips of the star blade glowed with the five elements: Wind, Fire, Earth, Sea, and Spirit. It moved too fast for Jessie to block or dodge, piercing her in the throat.
"Dean, it's okay. I'm right here," Tierney cried with puffy red eyes.
"I love you…Tierney…and don't let…them take…our baby…" Dean coughed blood.
"I won't let them. I promise I will kill all of the Suits," Tierney smiled, tears streaming down.
When Dean took her last breath, Tierney kissed her forehead and whispered, "I love you, Dean."
As Tierney stood up, placing Dean's head on the ground, she walked over to Jessie, picked up the sword she had, and said, "This is for Dean, you son of a bitch," dropping the sword onto her heart.
As Jessie stopped coughing blood, Tierney pulled out the star-shaped blade and left her in her own blood.
