The top five tennis players in the world.
They are very well-known and well-loved. They get along perfectly well all except one- Chase Browns.
That is a fact most people know but why they don't like him is unknown. They couldn't be in the same room as him but they're together now for what reason?
Simple–Publicity.
Since the match was scheduled and a promising challenger who had some sort of name for themselves showed up, Tennis fans and the Stadium organizers took that information and ran with it.
Ranks one to five were invited to watch it together alongside their plus one and since the former Rank one came out of hiding, why not invite him and his son as well?
The adults started talking and I had to interest in it so I went out to the open balcony and sat at one of the seats and looked down.
'Damn, everything looks so clear from here.'
In the center was the tennis court and surrounding it were regular seating bleachers while on the second floor were all the VIP rooms that also had extended balconies which had a good view of the court below it.
As more and more people started filling up the stadium, the person who was going to be commentating on the match came over the speaker and started to speak even though there was still another hour to go.
"HELLO and WELCOME all to the most anticipated match of this Summer!" The commentator began talking.
"In less than one hour a match between the current rank five and newly ranked six will be going head to head and by the time we leave here today we will see IF, Anthony Reins is able to block off Adam Seige from entering the top five, or IF Adam will be the one to knock down the wall and finally change the top five." The commentator continued as he kept riling up the crowd.
As I was listening to the commentator I suddenly got flicked on my forehead and before I could try to protest I looked over to who it was and then smirked.
"Did you have fun getting scolded by Chris?" I asked with a smirk to which he glared at me.
"Just you wait kiddo, Just you wait." He muttered and sat down next to me.
I rolled my eyes and then put my hand out in front of him. "Can I use your phone?" I asked him.
"And why should I give it to you after that little betrayal you did." He replied narrowing his eyes at me.
"Well you knew this was going to happen, I told you it wasn't a good idea in the first place," I answered him to which he just scoffed and finally gave me his phone.
On his phone, I went straight to messages and went to a group chat that had me, Sam, Peter, James, Amanda, and Ava. After meeting them the first time we met a few more times and soon we became friends.
James made a group chat for us and since I didn't have a phone I used Dad's phone for whenever we talked. He did ask me if I wanted one but there was no point in it since I liked to go outside and play tennis than use one.
As I looked in the group chat it seemed as if they were already texting.
James- I'm hereeeee, where are you guys at, I'm sitting in the bottom center near the court.
James- The lines were so longgg and boring, we were here for a whole hour and we just now got inside.
James- Erin are you here yet as well I heard there was a lot of commotion earlier about your dad being here.
Erin- I am, we got here thirty minutes ago.
James- Does that mean you're with the rest of the ranked five?
James- I know we met some of them during your birthday but can you get me an autograph from Chase
James- His is the only one that I don't have currently
Erin- I don't think you're going to be getting his anytime soon
Erin- He showed up for twenty minutes and left
James- Damn that sucks, I really wanted to get his
'Yeah… I'm never going to talk to that man again sorry James.' I thought to myself and looked back inside the VIP room to Chase who was leaning on a wall drinking something. We made eye contact for a second before I looked back at the phone.
By the time I looked back the typing rant started, first, james started going on about how he wanted Chases' autograph then somehow it got to the point of talking about the academy. James soon went on a whole rant for a good minute before everyone else joined in. For a while, I just sat and texted with them until Dad took the phone from me.
I looked up at him mildly annoyed. "And what was that for" I asked him to which he just flicked my forehead.
"You think I need a reason to take my phone back." He replied while I rubbed my forehead. "What if I want to talk to someone" he added to which I looked at him confused.
" you have other friends other than Chris and them? How come I never seen them before." I looked at him skeptically to which his lip twitched and he looked at me annoyed.
"I have other friends" He retorted annoyed.
"As if, for the last two years the only people you talked to were Chris, Anthony, and Grey" I rebuked him to which he flicked my head again.
"Kiddo you and your sharp tongue are getting annoying," He said to me to which I just stuck my tongue out at him.
"And I wonder who I got that from" I muttered and rubbed my forehead even more. "That hurt you know, how could you put your hands on your precious son like that." I started annoying him to which he just ignored me.
After a whole hour of waiting it was time for the match. Looking down at the bleachers it was packed to the brim with excited fans ready for the match to begin. On the court, Anthony and his opponent Adam started walking out as well. As soon as the two started walking out the whole stadium filled with cheers and applause.
"Oh, are they about to begin" Chris asked as he also walked out and sat on the chair next to Dad.
Without even bothering to ask Nathan also walked outside and decided to sit next to me. "You don't mind now do you Erin" He added with a sly smile.
'Anthony said Nathan had a girlfriend….' I smiled as I came up with a small plan in my head.
