Chereads / Vamwolf Wars / Chapter 10 - AfterMath

Chapter 10 - AfterMath

Sara found herself emerging from the void that had ensnared her, leaving her paralyzed.

As she regained consciousness, she was confronted with a terrifying scene. Her beloved Jason was seated beside a Vam, while she herself was lying in a state of stillness.

A surge of emotions erupted within her like a live volcano, her mind reeling from the shock. Her heart pounded in her chest, its beats reverberating loudly, and her patience dwindled like a ticking time bomb.

Surely, this couldn't be real. Her closest companion wouldn't betray her for the undead. Summoning her strength, she pushed her fragile body upright, causing the surrounding Wolves to stir with alarm.

Every eye was fixed on Jason, realizing that his inaction could spark a catastrophic conflict yet his intervention could potentially bring about a fragile peace.

The weight of the decision lay solely on Jason's shoulders, while the other wolves could only watch and hope for a favorable outcome. The world had frozen waiting for the star of the show, our Controversial Jason to act.Sara's eyes were enough to kill a soul, that is if staring could kill.

Now it was official,Jason wasn't acting,he wasn't even looking up to look at Sara. The woman of war was starting to feel a surge in her adrenaline. She didn't know who she wanted to kill,Jason or the vam.She didn't know her best friend anymore. The guy she knew would have ripped off any vam's head long ago but the new guy in his stead was showing kindness to it.Yes,Sara saw the vam as a heartless animal. The question was weren't wolves having their own animal tendencies.

But I,the neutral narrator wanting peace on earth and in heaven will cease from choosing a side.It was becoming official,Sara would begin world war 1 and she prayed for her wicked angel to help her.

Well, that was until she realized Jason was staring back.It was like he could read her mind.It was written all over his face.If she touched the vam then she touched him.The crossroad was drawn.Which way would Sara choose.Would she crucify her enemy or pacify her friend. The ball was in her court and all were watching.

It was exactly 3 hours since Jason had saved Ella and Sara from the hole. Sara, recovering from the paralyzing sting of the red wasp, was being tended to by the wolves. Although she had regained her ability to sit up, her legs remained too weak. Meanwhile, Jason sat quietly at a distance near Ella, who was still lying on the ground. Ella observed Jason, noting his contemplative demeanor. Reaching out, she tapped his knee, drawing him out of his reverie. As he turned to her, she whispered, "Thank you," to which he responded with a silent smile. Before she could say anything further, Jason's attention was drawn to where the rest of the wolves were assisting Sara to rise.

Sara despised her own weakness from three hours ago, but what she detested more was the perceived attention Jason was giving to their captive. Overwhelmed by jealousy and rage, she refused to leave Jason to attend to Ella. William and the others tried to persuade her to rest, understanding her feelings, but also acknowledging Jason's protective nature.

When Sara stood up, William was relieved to see Jason's swift response as he walked to Sara's side. As he left, Ella sat up and noticed the envious expression on Sara's face. Jason struggled to ask if she was okay, to which Sara sharply replied that she was fine and insisted that they should get going. Everyone was taken aback by her abruptness, but Jason, unsurprised, simply asked if she was sure.

After a moment's hesitation, Sara agreed, and Jason declared that they should prepare to move. Sara's unexpected determination left everyone speechless, including herself. Jason's unwavering support for her reluctance to consider her own health puzzled them all.

With Sara's plans seemingly thwarted, she impulsively suggested chaining the captive. Jason firmly rejected the idea, declaring that there would be no chains. Sara questioned his decision, but he insisted it was not a suggestion and directed her to follow his command. As he turned away and walked to where Ella was, a tense silence filled the air, revealing Sara's boiling rage and leaving her wondering what she would do next.

It was time, finally Ella was going home.Well,it wasn't how she expected it but being escorted by wolves was not a every day incident. She was thinking about what would happen if they got there and realized that Her dad was the only vam left.

Ella found herself lost in a whirlwind of thoughts as she pondered the impending return home. Suddenly, her reflections were interrupted by the unexpected touch of a hand on her shoulder. It was Jason. "It's time to go," he stated firmly. Taking a deep breath, Ella rose to her feet, steeling herself for the journey ahead.

Jason's perceptive nature led him to recognize Ella's anxiety, prompting him to offer words of reassurance. "Don't worry. If your people truly love you, there will be no need for a battle—only a peaceful surrender. I will ensure that," he assured her. Ella met his gaze, briefly considering what Jason would do if she disclosed the truth about her father's solitary presence.

What would Jason and his wolves do and would her dad freak out and take all the wolves on just to save her.Her dad was very strong but after the things she saw Jason do she was worried what would happen if Jason took on her dad.Her anxiety was building up and she remembered Badu.Did he get home safely and inform their dad of her capture.Would her dad send him away.

She hoped he did even though she knew all too well that Badu would stay no matter what.It was his sister who was in danger after saving him,he would never leave.Just when she was still lost in her thoughts, she was jolted by a hand that landed on her shoulder.

It was Jason,"It's time to go".Ella took a deep breath and stood up ready for the journey ahead.Jason could see she was anxious and spoke,"Don't worry if your people really love you there will be no need for a battle only a peaceful surrender, I will ensure that".
