Chapter 28 - SHIKARI’S HUNTING GAME (5)

"Would you care to enlighten me on what's going on now, because you just keep dragging me from one place to another." Arex finally cleared up as he could no longer tolerate the way Leomold has been delaying relaying what he should know as the last preparation he must do.

Yet, as soon as Arex entered Leomold's research area once more, they were instantly greeted by one of Leomold's regular shikaris.

"It's all set up inside, Lord Leomold." said the shikari.

"Thank you for your hard work, I'll take it from here." Leomold eventually told the shikari before he left the research room.

"Well, as you can see, Arex, we have prepared this body suit you will use for tomorrow." Leomold eventually told Arex as soon as the shikari left. His hand was even pointed towards the body suit that was displayed on a hanger.

It was a lightweight-looking overall bodysuit that didn't look like it would slow down anyone who wore it. And just as Arex had perceived the body suit, Leomold eventually confirmed it as though he had just read through the expression on Arex's face.

"The body suit is pretty light. The only purpose it would serve you is to protect your physical body from the possible attacks of enemies that you wouldn't be anticipating. Although, I told you that it had that kind of purpose, it doesn't mean that you're invulnerable anymore." Leomold cleared for Arex.

Following that, Leomold raised his finger to demonstrate what he was telling Arex. He formed a shard blade made from crystalized water on his palm and threw it towards the hanging body suit.

Arex was left feeling amazed, seeing how the body suit seemed like it had not been damaged at all.

"However, sustaining continuous damage to this suit would certainly destroy it. So while it is still capable of protecting you tomorrow, I suggest you should already come up with an idea to finish the game rather early." Leomold eventually revealed, stating that it would be a disadvantage for Arex should he not come up with a plan to win early.

"You say it like it was that easy to win that game. I only have you and Braganza on my side, have you already forgotten?" Arex reminded Leomold.

"It's not like I have clearly forgotten about that, of course, however, you are to face a game that your only aim should be winning, Arex. So whether you end up all alone there tomorrow, you must strive to win at all costs." Leomold's eyes darkened as though seriousness was not an enough word to define how he had pressed on Arex with the thought of winning.

For one moment, Arex suddenly felt a child course across his skin. It was not making him cowardly, but more like boosting his confidence for tomorrow's hunting game.

THE FOLLOWING DAY.

The Necropolis training ground was loaded with all the bystander Shikaris witnessing a historical moment that was about to take place. Never had they all witnessed the seven lords of the black parade participate in the shikari's hunting game ever since the formation of the highest ruling body in Necropolis.

They all cheered as each of the respective lords appeared in their hunting gear. Most of the spectators were anticipating a bloody and entertaining hunting game to commence in a short while.

However, while everyone was looking forward to whoever would win the event, the high lord, Grecko, finally made his entrance at the small stage that was set up for him.

All of them looked in his direction as he finally stood there for his announcement. "This sudden assembly, as you may have already heard, launches the first Shikari's hunting game, which will feature our esteemed seven lords of the black parade and an aberrant Jinnx to participate in this time's game. As per our usual rules, the game never ends until one between the blind and the hunters wins. I trust that our participants will not fail to provide us an entertaining game to witness." Grecko said as he quickly looked at the side where more of the players were standing, before he added, "And with that, I now officially announce to let the hunting games begin!"

After Grecko's speech, all the players began to line up from the starting point. Most of the other five lords were looking at Arex and were surprised that he was already aware of what to do.

What they didn't seem to know was that Leomold had already explained most of the guidelines of the games to Arex. As the game commenced, all participants except the blind shall start from the red line across the field.

Once the grand necromancer's flame bursts from the giant cauldron, all players must begin to march away from the line and find themselves a safe place to hide or immediately run away before the blind gets them.

A war item, a shield item, and a healing item are all required to be discovered by each player as the game progresses. To ensure that each player would be able to successfully complete the game, they shall each be given the opportunity to successfully acquire one of those items. However, the rules were not limited to the possibility of other players destroying the items.

Most especially if the other lords were deemed not to allow Arex to get one. Which was why Leomold specifically told Arex last night to immediately run for the jungle and find an item before the blind comes out.

The blind, which is going to be played by Roxina, would be released an hour late after the hunters were given the go to begin.

And as the cauldron was finally lit up by the grand necromancer, Grecko, every one of the lords, began to walk instead of run. Arex was surprised that they were all pretty calm.

The fact that he could not help but look at Leomold and give him a stare indicated that he was looking for answers to the question of what could possibly be wrong with the other lords. On the other hand, Leomold did not provide Arex with a definitive response. And rather than that, he simply nods his head in response to him as he, too, walks away from the red line.

And at this moment, each and every one of the Shikari who were waiting in the back for the games to begin were staring at Arex, wondering why he had not yet moved.

Arex was just getting ready to move, but they had no idea that he was doing so. He made an effort to become aware of his surroundings. He had a feeling that something was not quite right. Since this was the case, he immediately let go of his blue flames and secured his entire body as he approached the forest. He proceeded to walk through the forest with the feeling that something would already come to greet him as soon as he entered the jungle.
