Chapter 29 - SHIKARI'S HUNTING GAME (6)

Arex moved forward and separated himself from the other players who came out of his way by walking away on a separate path.

Not long after that, everyone else had ventured into the jungle.

As soon as Leomold informed him, Arex hurried out into the jungle to locate the three items that he need in order to win this game.

"Now where should I begin to find those items when this jungle seems to be too hard to infiltrate?"Arex inquired to himself.

While Arex was inside the jungle, he was attempting to keep an eye out for any goods that he could find, and while at it, he couldn't help but experience a sense of heightened awareness of his surroundings.

Arex had a sneaking suspicion that some of the lords who were taking part in this game were under the impression that they were not truly trying to lose to Roxina.

Taking into consideration the fact that the other lords appeared to be certain of their victory, he received the impression that they were only interested in having fun by causing Arex to endure pain.

Notwithstanding the fact that Arex did not appear to have any credible evidence from this particular instance at the moment, he was unable to simply put it behind him since he was aware that he would undoubtedly be at a disadvantage in the event that the other lords who were competing suddenly assaulted him along the way.

Arex appeared to be perplexed by the fact that it was even possible to lose sight of them in a short amount of time upon entering the jungle, despite the fact that there were not many obstacles in the area. In spite of this, Arex proceeded to make his way deeper into the jungle. Nevertheless, the unsettling aspect of this so-called jungle was the only thing that seemed to disturb Arex with this place.

The jungle in the Necropolis appeared more like a deserted mountain range with very few trees that couldn't even fully block the sun's rays from reaching the surface. This was in contrast to the untamed appearance that the jungle was meant to have.

There was still sufficient lighting throughout the entire hunting ground, thus there was no way that any player could have missed the opportunity to locate the special items.

Arex made a hasty effort to concentrate on what should be his main goal in this game. Despite the fact that he was making an effort to avoid interacting with other players, Arex continued to place a high priority on searching for the items that he need.

While no one among the other players was still minding him, Arex continued to walk further until he was able to see a cave ahead.

"Could this be the location where they kept those special items hidden?" Arex uttered, sounding a bit perplexed.

And as he was consumed by curiosity, he eventually went inside and began to enter the cave. As he approached the inside of the cave, Arex noticed how the path was illuminated by the fire torch that flames up as he walked by.

Knowing that he had been at Necropolis for a considerable amount of time, where the majority of paranormal occurrences had established themselves as a common occurrence for him, he did not feel to be bothered by it anymore.

Arex proceeded to walk forward till he was getting closer and closer to the cave's inner core. there, Arex was greeted by so many weapons scattered around. Arex could hardly even recognize any of the weapons that were placed on the altar that was located in the center of the cave.

"Holy cow! There are so many weapons hidden within this cave!" Arex exclaimed at the same time that his eyes wandered around to the various kinds of weapons that were dispersed all over the place.

"I suppose this place must be where I could get a weapon, huh? Too bad for those motherfucking lords I get to be here first before them." he said it with such a proud tone that it seemed as if he had just won the lottery or something. "Now which among these should I even take?"

Arex was on the verge of grabbing the golden sword, when all of a sudden, he became aware that something had fallen off from behind him. Arex was immediately startled by the sound it made, which prompted him to quickly look around. He was concerned that the other players must have already discovered him because he had arrived before them.

but he was wrong.

there was no one inside the cave apart from him. and the noise apparently came from an old chest vault. As soon as Arex realized that the source of the noise was an ancient chest that was rectangular in shape and a little bit thin, he began to ponder what could be inside of it.

Since the moment his eyes had been drawn to the chest, he couldn't help but get the impression that there was something about it that had been drawing him in to go and take it. There was a strange voice muttering in his head that was compelling him to go and find out what was inside of the chest vault.

Arex was so overcome by the need that a few moments later, he found himself already being in possession of the chest. It prompted him to open the chest immediately, and his eyes widened in awe at the magnificent weapon that was concealed within it.

The realization that it was a blade made of sapphire caused Arex to be taken aback. At that moment, Arex was abruptly reminded of his blazing blue flames. He continued staring at it for some reason and couldn't bring himself to look away.

His eyes continued to be fixed on the blade of the sword for an extended period of time, and as a result, he became even more attached to it. He simply did not want to leave it there and risk it being taken away by the other participants.

"I have the distinct notion that this sword is mine for some reason," Arex said as he observed the blade of the sapphire sword gradually starting to gleam the instant that Arex took a hold of it.

When Arex was holding the sword in his right hand, he was unable to escape the realization that the sword was significantly heavier than he had anticipated it to be. Arex did not pay any attention to it because he was under the impression that his body would eventually get used to the weight of the blade.

While Arex was quickly swinging the sword with his right hand, he became aware that he was exerting an excessive amount of effort in order to carry the sword.

"This won't do at all. Practicing with this sword is not something I have a lot of time for. I have an urgent need to make use of this for this game." Arex spoke in a voice that was louder than a whisper. Arex was determined to bring the sword with him and use it regardless of the fact that its weight could potentially prevent him from engaging in a fight.

"I am going to continue to make use of this, and no other players will be able to take it away from me." Arex exclaimed which was tinged with a bit of a high level of conviction.

What Arex did not realize, however, was that while he was about to begin testing his abilities to utilize the sword, someone suddenly approached him from behind, upon entering the cave and asked, "What do we have here, it appears that the aberrant came here first than I did."

As soon as Arex heard it, he was immediately compelled to turn around and check behind him in order to see who had also emerged from the cave.

Arex somewhat flinched, especially after finding out who it was.
