Chapter 48 - Prepare For The Chaos

Theodore had not noticed the room they entered before, but now that he felt calmer, he realized that it was a large ward that could accommodate up to six patients at a time.

Fortunately, they entered a room that was large enough to accommodate them. Theodore breathed a sigh of relief as he realized they should use this time to replenish their energy.

"Use this time to rest and recharge your batteries. We can't stay here forever; whether we want to or not, we'll have to break through these zombies eventually," Theodore explained seriously.

"I'm worried about our ammo supply. I didn't expect this many zombies in this hospital," said one of the soldiers.

"Do you think your ammunition can make it through the zombies in this place?" Theodore began to consider how to solve this problem.

"For now, it can still last, but if this search is longer, I'm afraid we won't have any more ammunition."

"I still have some swords in my bag; if you want, you can use mine later." Theodore finally decided to say that he had another sword in his backpack.

However, Theodore didn't want to say that he had other words, given that they might be suspicious of him.

Meanwhile, the soldiers looked at each other for a moment of silent communication, then nodded, indicating they had no objection to accepting Theodore's help.

"Then we will trouble you later."

Theodore nodded his head in understanding, then motioned for them to rest. Meanwhile, Theodore himself remained seated behind the door they had previously entered.

After making sure the situation around him was calm, Theodore decided to check the notifications he received from the system. He became curious about what the system had for him.

[Congratulations, the host for leveling up!]

[Congratulations, the host for leveling up!]

. . .

And various other notifications that Theodore received until he was confused by the barrage of notifications.

Theodore also checked the progress of the Quest he had received from the previous system and realized that his Quest progress was genuinely unique.

[Quest:

Kill zombies (177/???)

Collect medicines and medical devices (1/15)

Find the whereabouts of Doctor Christopher (0/1)

(Notice: Rewards will be calculated based on the host's performance) ]

Not expecting that he had killed that many zombies, Theodore also realized that there was additional information from the system; a smirk appeared at the corner of his lips.

Theodore noticed that the more zombies he killed, the more rewards he would receive. This way, Theodore felt that his hard work in killing zombies could be properly compensated.

Quite satisfied with what the system gave him, Theodore returned to look at the other notifications the system sent him. Now Theodore's eyes widened when he saw a notification that surprised him.

[Congratulations, host, for getting a new Skill, Wind Slash!]

Theodore just remembered that when he was pressed between the zombies and made it difficult to enter this room, he slashed his sword at them, and the wind from his slash knocked them back.

Now that Theodore realized that his action had become a new skill that he could use again, he was excited to recheck his status.

Theodore smiled with satisfaction as he looked at his status. Slowly, he began to gain many fighting skills. Currently, Theodore will focus on raising his skill level.

Also, Theodore saw that he had a lot of attribute points that he hadn't used; honestly, he was confused about where to use them.

Because he was still confused, Theodore delayed allocating the attribute points. He closed his status window and started focusing on their current situation.

Given that Theodore was sitting behind the door, he could sense that the zombies were still crowded behind the door.

It seemed like they couldn't hide there for too long. But they had just taken a break, so there was no way they would immediately go back out to kill zombies.

Theodore could only pretend not to feel the movement behind him. He casually opened his backpack to take out the provisions he had prepared earlier.

It was good that Theodore brought lunch; otherwise, he would be starving right now. Upon opening his lunch box, Theodore could immediately smell the fragrant aroma of the meat dumplings he had brought.

Instantly, Theodore could feel that all eyes were looking at him curiously. It seemed like they didn't expect him to bring such a delicious lunch.

"I didn't expect you to bring lunch."

"By the way, do you have any food supplies in your house?"

The soldiers were quite impressed with Theodore, who still had food supplies at home because young people like Theodore usually did not have them.

Young people usually prefer to order food from outside because it's easy and they don't need to make food. That's why they were surprised to see Theodore bring his own lunch.

"Well, at least I won't regret storing food at home," Theodore said happily.

Without thinking about the soldiers, Theodore ate his meat dumplings with gusto. He hadn't brought much, so he ate only a few and left the rest for later.

The soldiers could only stare at Theodore, who was eating with envy; they only brought the rations provided for them. They had to return to the base to eat proper food.

They knew that their task this time would take a while to complete. In fact, they weren't confident of returning to base safely after seeing how many zombies were in the hospital.
