As Theodore paused, thinking he was unlucky to have accidentally joined Victor McCarty's team, he didn't realize that the young man who had approached him earlier was underestimating him because of his lack of strength.
"You can call me Noah," Noah introduced himself while grinning at Theodore.
"Theodore, where are we going anyway?" he asked; honestly, he had no idea where their team was headed.
"Our team is to pick up medical supplies at the hospital and see if there are any survivors." Noah tried to recall where they were going today.
"Interesting, I thought we were just going to save people." Theodore nodded in understanding, quite satisfied with this team's goal.
Noah shrugged his shoulders indifferently. He didn't really care about their goals; he just wanted to go out and try his strength.
"Don't you need a weapon?" Noah realized Theodore was just following him and did not intend to take weapons from these soldiers.
"No need. I have my own weapons," Theodore said as he pointed at the sword poking out of his backpack.
At first, Noah didn't see that Theodore was carrying a sword because he didn't think that someone would use a sword in this era.
Even though their world was currently experiencing problems, Noah didn't think there would be people using swords to kill zombies.
Because of that, Noah looked at Theodore even more strangely. He just shook his head, not thinking about Theodore's actions. He didn't say anything else and left Theodore with his sword.
Noah thought that Theodore would not last long after they left the base to kill zombies.
"Good luck to you; I hope you survive." Noah patted Theodore lightly on the shoulder and walked away.
Theodore stared at Noah's departure, not thinking about what he said. He also gathered first near the military car they would use.
It was so coincidental that while Theodore was there, he saw Victor pass in front of him. He really cursed his luck that he was even on this team.
"You there!" Victor, who saw the new kid brought by his subordinate, called him to do something.
Theodore, who was called out by Victor, groaned in his heart, not wanting to come closer to Victor, but if he did, he would be slaughtered by that damn Victor.
Theodore quickly walked towards Victor. He wanted to ask why he was calling him, but his lips stopped moving when he first heard Victor's loud voice.
"Help the others to carry our weapons and bullets, then take them to the car." Victor immediately ordered Theodore to do something.
"Okay." Theodore couldn't help but agree.
Fortunately, there were other soldiers, so he didn't have to ask where they kept the supplies. Their time was running out, so Theodore and the others quickly moved their weapons into the military car they would use.
Although Theodore's level wasn't very high, he felt that his body was much stronger than before, so he could easily carry a box full of bullets with him.
When Theodore and the others returned to the military car, Victor didn't say anything. Finally, they got into the car as they were about to leave.
From what Theodore could see, their team had brought 2 military cars. He was in the car that carried their armory supplies, which had 2 people who had powers and the rest with regular soldiers.
Unfortunately, this time, Theodore was not in the same car as Noah, whom he had met earlier. A moment later, Theodore could feel the car they were traveling in starting to move. Slowly, the car left the safe area of the base.
Theodore was not tense because he was used to killing zombies and was confident in his abilities. He was very calm at the moment.
But he could see that the other people looked very nervous when they realized their car had started moving away from the base.
It wasn't surprising to see other people nervous like this. After all, it was zombies they were fighting. Who would have thought that they would be fighting zombies that they never even thought were real?
In the early days of an apocalypse like this, it was only natural for them to be nervous. Theodore just hoped that today's casualties wouldn't be too many.
Theodore had no problem killing zombies, but he still couldn't get used to humans dying from zombies.
While sighing slowly, Theodore took out his sword from inside his backpack. He could see that many pairs of eyes were secretly glancing at him at this moment.
But Theodore did not heed their gaze. He began to check that his sword was still sharp and could still use it to kill zombies later.
Finally, there was someone who couldn't seem to stop themselves from asking Theodore about this.
"You're going to use that sword to kill zombies?" One of the awakened people decided to ask Theodore this.
"Yes, it's more effective than your gun." Theodore nodded his head and kept his sword at his side.
"Huh? Are you sure you're saying it like that?" They were not of one mind with Theodore.
"Of course. Those guns make too much noise. More zombies will come because they hear your gunfire," Theodore explained casually.
"It's true, but still, isn't it scary to take out zombies at close range." Many of them shuddered in horror at the thought of a creepy zombie.
Theodore just chuckled softly in response to that remark. It was scary at first, but when he got used to it, it would be normal to see those zombies.
When the others had begun to forget their nervousness by chatting casually with each other, they felt that the car they were traveling in began to stop.
Before they knew it, they had arrived at their destination. Theodore even decided to peek out from between the armored cars to ensure they had stopped around the hospital around the base.
One by one, the car passengers quickly began to disembark with their weapons in hand. Theodore got off with his sword at his side.
They were asked to gather to listen to their plan this time. Theodore chose to stay at the back of the line, not wanting to attract too much attention at the moment.
"Our priority right now is to find the doctor named Christopher; we will also secure the supply of medicines and medical equipment in this hospital." Finally, Victor began to inform them about their task.
After hearing from Victor about their objective, Theodore cursed Noah for not telling him this earlier.
"I don't want you to fail this mission! Find the doctor no matter what." Victor, in his harsh tone, glared at everyone there.
Theodore could only sigh as they were shown a picture of the doctor Christopher they were looking for.
Eventually, Theodore ended up in a group of ordinary soldiers who didn't seem to think much of him.
Theodore didn't know whether to be grateful or curse his luck again.
