Chapter 56 - Was it all an act?

When Moon began saying those words, Isabel was confused at first. She had come to receive her first lecture from the new tutor given to her and had waited for him to come and settle down so they can begin, but she heard him saying words that looked like a confession. She heard from one of the servants that the tutor had brought Maidservant Ann home but she never saw him when she came out. Now listening to him say he knew he should have stayed and helped out and adding that he wanted to protect her made her feel like he actually knows what she was going through and wanted to help in any way he can, but more than that, she felt so drawn to his comforting words. It felt soothing. That was before he opened the curtain and mentioned Eve's name. It was only then that she realized the words were meant for Eve, not her.
