"Let's eat, Red. I feel like I can eat a whole whale now." James tiredly dropped down on his chair, beside Red. His hands lazily draped down the side.
Red, whose gaze was fixed on his computer screen, turned his head to the side. As he saw James' current state, he couldn't help but lightly chuckle.
"Lemme finish first." Red uttered before glancing back at his screen.
As if being late wasn't enough, their bosses dropped down a lot of work for them earlier.
As the tournament's season come closer, Mystic Raven's marketing team was slowly working their asses off too to look for more sponsors and engage with the fans.
Having a good marketing team was essential now with the rise of new trends on how professional teams were being promoted to the public.
James slowly nodded his head even though Red wouldn't see it. He docked down on the table and talked with Red in that state.
"I have looked for a lot of villas or private resorts near the city but all of them are booked for the weekend already. The management is asking me to do a miracle at this point." James complained after looking at the screen for almost half the day.
Despite his hard work, he wasn't making any progress regarding what the management instructed him to do.
Red chuckled. After talking about it early in the morning, their boss also asked them to find a suitable place to give in to Hubert's request.
However, because it was a rush one, and they were given a limited budget only, they couldn't just look for any available place in the area.
"Hayss…" James deeply sighed before staying quiet. He patiently waited until Red was done with his work, which didn't take a long time.
Entering their office's cafeteria, James and Red both lined up at the counter. Their cafeteria was an open space. There were multiple tables and chairs where all the employees could eat together.
The good thing about Mystic was that they offer free and unlimited food to all of their employees.
"'I'll have a feast today," James determinedly uttered as he grabbed a tray from the side. He held onto it tightly as they waited for their turn on the buffet counter.
Red tilted his head to the side. He also grabbed a plate and the two of them waited patiently.
"Brother Red! Brother Red!"
Hearing his name from a sudden shout, Red's forehead furrowed. As far as Red knew no one in the company called him that way.
Glancing to the left and right, Red tried to look at where the voice came from.
'What the…' Red's eyes widened after seeing a few players of Mystic Ravens at the front door of the cafeteria.
As their eyes crossed, Cameron and Yuki waved their hands energetically at Red.
'Why are they being like this?' Weirded out by it, Red immediately looked away. He tried to ignore the voices, but they were persistent and James quickly caught it.
"You know them, Red?" James's jaw dropped to the ground after realizing that the players of Mystic Ravens were calling Red in an informal tone.
"No. Hahaha" Red awkwardly laughed as he shook his head to deny it.
Yuki and Cameron eyed each other. They made a face as they saw how Red turned his back against them.
"Brother Red is ignoring us," Yuki pouted his lips as he faced Cameron.
"Yeah," Cameron scratched the back of his head as he knew the reason for it. "Were we that bad last week?" he questioned.
"Let's go near to Brother Red and apologize!" Yuki stated, calling Red 'Brother' as if they were close.
Cameron nodded. The two of them walked together towards Red, hand in hand. However, as they get nearer, their steps become narrower.
"You greet Brother Red first," Yuki uttered in a low voice.
Cameron looked at Yuki uncertainly. "Let's see…" he answered, almost whispering.
"Brother Red!" Cameron put on a smile on his face as he shouted Red's name as they got just besides them.
Red's body froze as his eyes gazed at the staff on the counter.
"Hi Brother Red!" Yuki quickly followed Cameron's greeting after seeing a slight movement in Red's body.
Red's lips curved sideways, bewildered by the sudden change of treatment that he was getting.
As he turned around, he saw Yuki and Cameron standing in front of him. They have friendly expressions on their faces, waving their hands as their eyes meet.
Yuki quickly held unto Red's food tray after seeing that it was full already.
"Let me carry it for you, Brother Red!" Yuki uttered.
Red was shocked that he couldn't do anything but let go of it. He was not even done getting some food.
Cameron, on the other hand, snaked his hands around Red's arm. He hugged it as if they were close to each other.
"Let's go sit, Brother Red!" Cameron exclaimed as he pulled Red's body.
Red was speechless. He eyed James and looked at him for help.
However, James was too struck to even get what Red had been signaling to him. The only thing he could do was follow Red in silence.
'Woah! I didn't know Red is such a big shot that he's even close to the players of Mystic Ravens," James thought.
"Sit here, Brother Red!" Yuki stated after carefully putting down the tray filled with food on the other side of the table.
He and Cameron sat in front of Red, while James quietly sat beside Red.
"What are you two doing?" Red's forehead creased. He eyed Yuki and Cameron who became silent after hearing his voice.
Looking at each other, Cameron and Yuki faced each other, nodding. As if it was a sign, they hurriedly stood up, as if being scolded.
The two of them bowed their heads at the same time, creating a fuss as other workers could also see it.
"We're sorry, Brother Red!" Cameron and Yuki both uttered at the same time. It almost looked like they had practiced the line multiple times already.
Red's eyes quickly widened. "You fools! Come and quickly sit. You're making a scene."
However, Yuki and Cameron shook their head, refusing to follow Red's words. The only time that they would sit again on the table was if Red will say that they're forgiven for acting rudely the other week.
Red, having no choice, quickly nodded his head. "Alright, alright. You're both forgiven." he sighed.
Yuki and Cameron eyed each other in success. They both straightened their backs and quickly sat on the chair once again.
"What have gotten to you two?" Red curiously asked.
Cameron's face brightened as he looked at Red.
"We're your fans, Brother Red!"
