Chapter 15 - The Fight Between The Two

The air thickened with tension as Red and Hubert faced each other on the battlefield. Set on a circular stage, the two were both ready to attack.

Red's eyes gleamed with calmness however, his moves were fueled by the unjust provocation.

On the other side, Hubert's smirk betrayed a hint of arrogance, confident in his capabilities.

Hubert took the first step forward, his movements were deliberate and calculated. Thinking that it was such an easy win for him, Hubert cast a skill and initiated an attack.

Red mirrored Hubert's movements, his calm expression still unwavering. The room seemed to hold its breath as the distance between the two narrowed.

Hubert, with a pair of daggers in his hands, used his skill "Stealth Dash". He dashed forward, thinking that he would land a perfect attack on Red.

However, Red quickly swayed his stave to the side, crossing it against Hubert's dagger. He leaped backward, however, Hubert quickly ran after him.

Red cast a basic light shield to defend himself from another sudden attack.

Hubert was surprised that Red was able to defend himself within just a short period of time. His daggers grew a few inches longer. Using a skill he mastered, Hubert tried breaking into the shield with one of his daggers.

As the shield were only defending Red's front, Hubert threw the other dagger sideways, in a circular path, aiming towards Red's back.

Red took a step back as he saw the dagger aiming at his direction. After Strengting his shield in front, Red placed his stave in a diagonal position.

As Red saw the shield getting nearer his body, Red quickly shifted his body's position. He turned sideways.

In just a flick of a second, the bottom of Red's stave hit Hubert's stomach as his shield came across the flying dagger.

Hubert's jaw clenched. His character in the game had to step back because of the impact. However, he didn't let that stop him.

Hubert tried attacking numerous times again, swaying his daggers side by side as he launched forward. But Red was able to dodge all of them easily.

Hubert, with a sly smile, activated his skill "Triple Charge". A skill that he personally specialized.

"Woah! Will Hubert use that just for this game?" Cameron couldn't believe what he was seeing. Interest was piqued in the tone of his voice.

As they watched from behind, they couldn't help but say their dissatisfaction with the game. It seemed like the game was only one-sided, with only Hubert initiating the attack earlier.

Hubert's dagger slowly disappeared, the same with his character. He flashed a wide grin on his face as he went around Red, who was just standing in the middle of the arena, awaiting for another attack.

The skill "Triple Charge" was one of the most OP skills in the game. It enables the user to be invisible for a few seconds before launching a boosted attack. If it lands perfectly on the Player, the damage could go as high as a player's HP.

As the skills's invisibility took place, Hubert dashed forward, readying his two daggers in his hands to attack Red on his back.

Hubert was so sure that his attack would put an end to Red's character.

However, as soon as Hubert swung his dagger, to pierce Red's back, Red's character disappeared into thin air.

"Huh? How did he manage to do that?"

The players of Mystic Ravens were bewildered as they watched what happened. They were already sure that Hubert's attack wouldn't miss.

A subtle smirk appeared on Red's lips. As his invisibility skill wore off, he appeared meters away from Hubert, who was now completely clueless.

'Maybe it's time to finally attack.'

Red clicked Hubert's character. His fingers danced across the keyboard.

Red activated the skill Wielder of Wight. It was a skill that Red personally liked.

As the bright light appeared on the end of his stave, Red directed it towards Hubert's direction.

Hubert's eyes widened as he noticed an impeccable light coming into his direction. As his character was an assassin Hubert does not have any defensive skill that could help him in the attack.

With his speed, Red run to the side, jumping in the air as the ball of light moved as if it was about to land on the ground.

"Huh?"

"Is that possible?"

Yuki's eyes widened when he saw that the ball of light that was about to hit the ground slowly rose once again. At the speed of light, it flew on Hubert, who thought that he was already safe.

The ball of light landed directly on Hubert's character. As Hubert's skill Stealth Dash was still in cooldown, he was unable to dodge it at the last moment.

'Sh*t,' Hubert muttered a curse. The blue line, which indicates his HP had greatly been reduced. It became close to a half just because he wasn't able to dodge that single attack.

Even the players of Mystic Ravens were speechless after seeing the amount of damage that Red did.

Red softly chuckled. It was only a mid-level skill, yet it was able to deal a lot of damage to Hubert.

'It seemed like grinding my level in the past was really helpful,' he thought as the skill can only be obtained once a player reached level 1000.

Red, knew that Hubert was not the type of guy to include defensive skills while on the battlefield. That's why with that knowledge, he made sure that his skills would include critical and pure damage in it.

Red's character ran towards the middle of the arena. He clashed with Hubert as Hubert initiated another attack after recovering from the damage earlier.

Red used a different skill this time. Using the element of land, Red pointed at the ground, creating vines that slowed Hubert down.

However, Hubert easily cut all of that. He put his daggers together. Just like that, the daggers majestically became interconnected with each other.

Hubert grinned,, he might be half HP right now, but he knew he could deal with it. He just needed an opportunity, and he knew that this was the perfect one.

As the two of them clashed with one another, they both exchanged basic attacks. However, Red, having a long-range attack, was obviously in an advantageous position.

Hubert suddenly changed his movement. instead of going near Red, he leaped backward.

Red, noticing the change, prepared himself. He glanced at the golden ending of his stave before looking at Hubert.

'Bye, Red.'

Hubert dashed forward. The two of them ran towards each other. As their distance shortened, their weapons clashed with one another.

Without warning, Hubert lunged forward, his connected dagger aimed at Red's side. Red, however, deftly sidestepped the attack. He swayed to the side and pushed Hubert away.

Hubert's eyes became fixated on the screen. As Red stopped for a millisecond to adjust his position, Hubert dashed forward once again.

Hubert pointed his dagger outwards, aiming at a critical point in Red's character.

Hubert's grin became wider as his dagger perfectly pierced through Red's stomach.

The screen became dim as white light appeared out of the middle. He didn't wait for the game to load back to the lobby as Hubert knew he had won.

Hubert stood up. A cocky expression was written on his face.

"What are you saying, huh? Loser." Hubert raised his brows as he leaned forward, mocking Red.

Red chuckled. He stared at Hubert as if he was saying nonsense.

"What do you mean? You lost."
