[HEIST System]
[Title: Crook]
[Class: Thief ]
[Stats]
[Intelligence: 13 (+2)]
"Now that's interesting." I muttered to myself upon seeing the new system notification.
I guessed it was me narrowly avoiding been scammed. So what this essentially meant was that if I did things that made me look or sound like a smart thief, I could increase my stats quickly. My wits saved me from getting scammed and I was rewarded with two points. Beautiful!.
Walking home with twelve thousand in my pocket, I decided this time around I was getting something with my earned cash and not stealing it. I walked inside the market, heading for one of the best mechanic shops.
It was run by am old man and his son, both were mechanics with pale skins that hardly saw the sun.
"Evening old man!" .
"Ho, ho, if it ain't the golden thief !" The old man laughed at me, his face full of smiles with arms outstretched for a hug.
I stared at his stained clothes and quickly shrugged, giving him the hug he wanted.
"You have gotten bigger!"
"And you smaller!"
We both laughed at each other remarks as his son walked in.
"Matthew! See who's around ?"
"Hello Dave"
"Hello Matthew"
I responded as Matthew simply nodded at me before going back to his work. Matthew was a quiet type who hardly spoke but did his talking through his works. He was good as his father, almost even better some say, because of his insane dedication to his work.
He was someone I knew I would definitely work with in the future.
"So what brings you here Dave ?"
I turned my attention to the old man as my eyes stopped surveying his shop. The old man wasn't bothered about my wandering eyes, because of the trust he had in me. He saw me as his son, and likewise, as a father. Besides, you don't steal from friends or family. It was sort of a code for me, and he knew that.
"You ain't doing bad old man, your shop is looking well stocked."
He laughed, his hands running through his grey full hair.
"Can't wait to pass it on to Matthew and finally retire my old ass."
I smiled at him, knowing fully well he would only retire when he was six feet under. Why ?
His work was what kept his sanity in check after his wife died from an accident three years ago. And every year he told me he was going to retire, I looked forward to hearing it from him next year.
"I need a dimensional storage."
"Ho, ho, you must have gotten a good customer "
"You know me old man, I don't slack." We both laughed as Matthew across the room scoffed at our behaviour.
"It will cost you ten gold coins."
My eyes popped out of its socket as I mentally counted what would be left with me.
Nothing! I would even be in debt by the time I pay the blonde haired girl her cash. whose name I still didn't know.
"C'mon old man, i ain't got that much on me."
He laughed at me and brought out a device. He pointed it at my face and slowly scanned me from top to bottom.
"Okay, okay, I got twelve here. But l can only part with five, I have got bills of up to seven."
He stared at me for some seconds as he stared at his scanner screen, the eleven, bold and clear in green letters.
"Alright. Five then. Matthew bring our friend a .."
Matthew was already infront of us with a black case as he slowly opened it, presenting the black ring to me.
I took it out of the case gratefully, and thanked both father and son before bading them goodbye.
The first thing I did was to transfer my copies of special books into my storage unit, my hands grateful for the uplifted burden.
I walked further into the market and quickly headed to a stylist shop. I walked out with a silver wig on my head, a thin mustache fitted below my nose well and a pair of sunshades. A total cost of one gold coin worth and I wondered if my head was worth the price. Remember I was still a Crook. I walked towards the bakery I scammed a day ago.
"Good evening sir, what's can I get for you ?"
With a thickened accent, disguising my voice; " Four loaves of bread sir, the man loaf"
"Okay...that would be four hundred."
I nodded my head in acknowledgement, passing four hundred bills note to him.
The man loaf was as long as an adult arm, and also thick. Holding four wasn't a problem as I transfered into my newly purchased dimensional storage.
"Sorry if I may ask sir, a blonde girl who I gave work to asked me to meet her here, is she around ?"
"Name ?"
"Oh sorry, she didn't. But she said her daddy was the Baker."
The man looked me from head to the point where my body simply disappeared from his view.
"And what's your name ?"
"Mr T."
"Mr T ?"
Of course Mr T. If I said Mr Thief, would you continue speaking to me ?
I nodded my head positively, as he quickly replied: "I would let her know a certain Mr T came." He said, dragging my name sarcastically cause he knew I didn't provide my actual name.
I mean who names their kid Mr T ?
" Tell her to meet me at this address." I said quickly, passing him a paper with written words before rushing out of his stall, chuckling as I was leaving.
I got home and the girls were expecting something from me like I was their daddy. Of course I'm their daddy.
Their eyes gleamed with suprise and excitement as I dropped out the floor loaves of bread from my dimensional storage.
"Mhmm, where you get the money for that ?"
"Magic ?" Adianne squealed, her face in pure suprise and excitement.
I laughed, using my laughter to ignore Pearl question, and I almost got away with it.
"Dave."
"Alright. Remember the meal I brought the other day, I stole a golden watch from the pork seller."
"Pure gold ?" Her eyes brightened.
"Nah, gold mixed with other low quality minerals. I got twelve thousand for it."
Suddenly she hugged me tight, her arms wrapped around my neck.
"That would last us for at least two weeks. We won't need to stay all day with empty bellies, waiting for the sun to set, or even sleep on an empty one."
A tear threatened to drop from my eyes as i recollect memories of what we have both been through, together.
I could feel the inner child in her, it was warmth and happy from the sound of her voice , as I felt another body hold unto me tight. And I wondered if I should tell them the truth, that I had already spent almost half and would further spend all.
"Thanks for providing for me Dave, ever since we were kids, thanks a lot, I can't appreciate you enough. And now even with Adianne, you didn't complain. Thanks baby!"
Adianne? Complain? Even if I wanted to, seeing her pretty face and those massive jugs! Man my complain would vanish instantly. Did she call me baby ?
"I have got something to say"
Both girls reluctantly let go of me as they stared at me with pretty docile eyes.
Oh they look so beautiful
"I don't know how you would take this news, but I spent it all"
Pearl was the first to show what she was thinking, as a scowl quickly formed on her face and her bubbling rage reflecting in her eyes.
Shit.
