"I guess that doesn't count as a harmless prank that pays?" He muttered to himself as he passed the old woman, greeting her before walking out of her house.
Since his own abode didn't have toilets or bathrooms, he and Pearl had to do with the old couples. Infact, they were actually living in the same house, just that he was staying in their basement. Though they requested that he and Pearl join them in the house, buy he choose the basement as an alternative. It was a mutual relationship, where he got free accommodation and often times, almost everyday, he brought food for the old couple. Some may ask, don't they have children, of course they once did, and it's always more pains for the parents to bury the children.
Soon enough he was at the school gate, as a loud voice shouted behind him.
"Get out of the way losers!"
He turned just in time to see a group of students running towards him as the leader purposely rammed his shoulder into his.
He didn't hear a sickening sound, but his body turned 90 degrees as he dropped to the floor.
"Sorry loser...Hehe...not sorry!"
The young lad screamed at him as his comrades followed behind, everyone parting way for them.
"Who are those ?" A girl on pigtail asked as he stood up, dusting himself.
"The newly formed Knight group. You know as everyone got their class checked yesterday, most have broken into groups or factions. "
"So most of them are all knights or all Healers, or all hunters ?" Her friend asked with a gleam in her eyes.
"Yes. Which are you ?" The pigtail girl asked as Dave approached them.
"Assasin, you ?"
"Me too!" Her friend squealed in delight.
"Imagine a group of assasins!..." they hugged eachother, their feets lifting up the ground in sync.
"Sorry ladies ? Heard of any thief groups ?"
Dave asked with a slight smile that grew wilder to show he was friendly and meant no harm to their money or belongings. Though his eyes moved around, as his saw some of the things he had liked to help them hold unto it...to keep it safe, nothing more.
"Huh?"
"Who cares about a thief ?"
The pigtail girl dragged her friend away as the other one had a dreamy expression of an all assasin group.
He got his class on time, after being unsuccessfully to get any information on any thief groups or a person with the class.
He sat down at his usual seat as he looked to his left and all those seated there had classes and to his right were those that didn't.
The ones at the right were fewer in number as some had dropped out, seeing no reason to continue with the education since they had no class. Graduation was near, in a month or two, and imagine graduating without a class. Of course it would be televised.
Dave stared at both sides, wondering which to pick. He was a thief and certainly despised at both ends.
Suddenly a large hand slammed his desk, ending his thoughts as the person proceeded to seat on his desk with a wide laugh and a drink in his hands.
It was Josh, the only Barbarian he knew. And beside him was his brother Jake trying to wrestle off the drink in his hands.
"Let go second me " Josh said as Jake eyebrows arched in slight anger.
"Who made you first and me second?" He asked, to which his brother simply laughed and turned towards me.
"Dave, between me and him who do you think came out first or second."
He stared at both twins as he tried to recall their story. Only kids of their parents, who are pretty influential, rich and do not live in this country. It was said that they were both first and first as they came out at the same time.
I mean out at the same time!"
Their mother was a knight, and it was reported that though she suffered a huge tear and an outstanding gap, she didn't die but had to nurse her injuries for more than a year.
So in a funny way, there wasn't any junior or senior between them.
Dave stared at both of them, same physique, same height, eye colour, hair pattern, head shape. Nothing was different apart from the name tag on their uniform, and their personalities. But his attention was focused on the bottle in Josh hands, it was bear, an alcoholic drink. As the brute took a swig out of it, the loud clattering of heels echoing across the class room.
"Shit! Miss Gloria!" Jake called out as he quickly left his brother side, who immediately stood up from my desk and left for his own seat, leaving his bottle behind. Dave quickly straightened up and pulled his own seat closer, the drink coming up to his face, the aroma wafting into his nose.
Quickly he looked around as he pushed the desk away from him and was about to fly to the next seat.
A firm hand gripped his shoulder, stopping him in his tracks, as he heard a soft reprimanding voice.
"No, no, no, Dave, you don't get to run away from your actions in my class son."
Dave swallowed a ball of spit as he faced her
"It's not mine."
"Denying your actions?"
He looked at Josh and Jake, especially Josh who had his hands clasped together in a pleading expression.
'Shit'
"You won't believe me ?" He asked her as she negatively shooked her head.
"Who would believe a thief?" Adele snickered.
He smiled and quickly wiped away the sweat off his brow for the second time today before nodding his heading, acknowleding the situation he was in.
"To the principal office Dave." Miss Gloria said, pointing at the door.
Dave nodded his head as he moved to his desk and grabbed the bottle of bear.
"Just one more thing" He said before suddenly drinking the alcoholic drink in a large gulps until it was empty.
"Woah!"
"Damn son!"
"Bro throat was bulging like his yesterday crotch!"
"That's my man!" He heard Josh scream as he discreetly showed him his middle finger.
"Hot!"
"The thief got balls!" Rapheal voice, the loudest of all.
"What can you expect from an unruly thief!" Cynthia snarled, the moment he passed her seat and walked into the hallways, heading for the principal office. But at that moment, he knew who was going to be paying for the harmless prank.
