Children playing with one another; adults warning the children to be careful. It is a common sight for the town square to be full of activities and noise.
There are stalls along the street selling a wide variety of things to the townspeople walking by.
While William was walking through the market with his parents, one object caught his eye.
It was a dark and one-of-a-kind wristband with some words on it, supposedly bringing good luck to the wearer.
"Mom! Dad! Can I have that, please?"
His parents looked at each other and sighed. They knew he was going to pester them until he got that wristband, so they nodded in response and went with William to get him the wristband.
However, just as he was about to grab it, another kid was faster.
"Aunty, can I have this, please?"
"Hey! I wanted that!"
"No. I got here first."
As William was about to start yet another fight, his parents swooped in.
"Okay boys. No fighting. William, you should know better. Let him have it, okay?"
William was saddened when his parents sided with the stranger.
Sure, he is shorter than me but that doesn't guarantee he's younger or anything...
He unreluctantly let the kid keep the wristband. The boy was about to go away, but the family just realised that the little boy was alone.
"Boy, where are your parents? Are you lost?"
"..."
"Boy? What's wrong?"
"...I don't have any parents..."
William's parents' concern was visible on their faces.
"If you don't have anywhere to go, how about coming with us to our house for a while?"
The boy thought for a while and nodded.
Now I also have to share a house with this little kid...
On the way back, William's parents brought some extra fruits and meat for the kid.
