Chapter 17 - Deal

"Steve Grant, i'm sorry for the outburst, its just well…" Steve said as he laughed sheepishly

"Don't worry about it, instead i am a bit too interested in you" The man said as he suddenly pulled out a dagger from nowhere.

It was the dagger he had given to the inspector. If it was here then that meant that it was very high ranked. His insight already told him that it was C-ranked but for some reason, he refused to believe it.

"The Dagger, is there something wrong with it?" Steve asked

"No, of course not, I simply wanted to secure a deal with you. Normally i would be fighting to get you into the Association but something tells me, you want nothing to do with this life"

"What deal?"

"I want first right to every thing you create, be it offensive or defensive, hell even if it's just clothing, in exchange we buy it for double the price" The Chairman said as the atmosphere changed again.

There was a weird business like feeling to the office as he spoke. The man had gone from Chairman to pure businessman.

"My creations are that impressive?" Steve asked with a grin on his face.

This was the reaction he wanted… Well not exactly this but he expected the Association to make some noise about it.

"I don't know if you know this but never in history has one ever made a C-ranked weapon from lower ranked materials"

"So you need B-rank materials to create C-rank weapons, right?"

"So far, that's how it has always being, I don't know what you encountered within that dungeon but I wouldn't be wrong if I say that every hunter would be glad that you did" The man said in a sincere manner.

Normally this was a sore topic because the dungeon was something he never planned to experience again. It gave him nightmares but the man's statement didn't seem bad for some reason now.

"I see then, but can I change the deal?" Steve asked as he too put on a business face.

"It is a deal, we negotiate the terms"

"Okay then, I don't need you to buy it at double the price, I want right to any Gate I want and at anytime. Don't worry I am not after the boss, a craftsman needs materials after all"

"Are you sure about this? The association can work to provide said materials you need when asked"

"No, that wouldn't be necessary, it's my business and you are my partner not my slave" Steve replied

"I see, then I accept" The Chairman said with a smile as the two shook hands.

As soon as the two did so, Steve immediately used [Architect's Insight] and [Architect's Touch].

As soon as their hands touched, Steve felt it. The level of power packed behind every fibre of the man's muscles.

His mana was well beyond his, compared to everyone he had analysed so far, the man seems to be a whole different species compared to normal hunters and other people.

"It will be a pleasure working with you" Steve said before letting the man's hand go.

"Come in" the chairman suddenly called out as the door opened.

Turning to the door, Steve saw the familiar inspector walk into the office, in his hands were a few documents.
