"So now we will be unveiling the new machine. The Nano Bird Drones will be used in different aspects of life, such as sending and receiving messages and packages." One man said this as he held up his phone.
The crowd cheered as he placed the phone on a table in front of him.
"This device has been tested, and it works." He said this as he looked at everyone.
"This is the future!" Another man yelled as he waved his hands around.
Lux leaned forward. "Is this thing going to cost a fortune?"
"Not at all. This thing costs only $10!"
The man laughed. "That's why it's called Nano."
"I want 500 of them delivered to my company ASAP."
"Give me 70."
"60 for me."
"Ahhhhhhh!!!!"
Everyone turned their heads as several people burned to ashes right in front of their faces as a figure walked past them.
"Sorry to crash the party." The figure smiled before he walked towards Chloe and Lux.
Everyone sat due to the shock as a female security officer pulled out his gun and pointed it at the figure. "Stop right there; don't take another step."
He looked at her, asking, "Do you think I'm hot?"
"Put your hands where I can see them!"
"I'll take that as a no." He said this as he waved his hand, setting her ablaze immediately.
Lux pulled out his own gun as well as Chloe as they began firing rounds after rounds at the figure.
"Don't tell me you still want to resort to this weak means of weaponry." He mocked their attempts.
He grabbed hold of Chloe's hand as he increased the temperature in her arm, burning his arm slightly.
She dropped her gun as she screamed in pain, "My arm!"
"I don't think you'll be needing it anymore." He smirked as he moved toward her face.
Lux shot him in the shoulder, but he shrugged it off and continued on towards Chloe.
Chloe fell back in her seat as he grabbed her chin, lifting her head upwards.
"You know I have no reason to hurt you, yet." He whispered.
He turned towards Lux as he began emitting a hot aura towards her.
Lux felt his skin tearing apart as the heat consumed his body.
"Did you think this would be enough?."
"Huh?" The figure looked as Lux's skin began to heal up quickly and his hair turned from black to white.
"Turn up the heat, please. Is this the best you've got?" He said as he began walking in the hot aura.
"How?" Chloe asked as she watched Lux's body heal itself.
"Thermal manipulation, huh? If you're going to stop me, you're going to need more than just one of you to stop me."
He vanished and reappeared in front of the figure holding him in a chokehold.
"Alex huh? Do you know how to fly, Alex?" He said this as he tightened his grip.
"Who are you?"
"You can call me Hunter."
Hunter took off, breaking the building as he took Alex with him, leaving behind a trail of lightning.
They floated in the sky several meters above as Hunter held Alex by the back of his collar roll.
"Let me go." Alex said as he tried releasing his aura again, which did nothing to Hunter.
"No problem." He released his hold as Alex fell several meters to the ground.
Hunter looked at Alex with an annoyed expression. "I don't like being kept waiting." He said this as he walked towards Alex. "I'm sure you've heard this line before, but I'll say it anyway: You've got to be faster."
Alex got up and looked at Hunter. "What do you want from me?"
Hunter looked at him and said, "I'm going to ask you this one last time. Who sent you here?"
Alex shook his head. "No one. I was hired by myself." He said this as he sat down on the floor.
"Then who was your client?"
"The same one who paid for my freedom, Jay."
Hunter sighed "I guess I have to thank him then for sending someone as incompetent as you."
"Maybe you should thank his father for making you so useless. It's not my fault Lux is being targeted." Alex spat out.
"Lux?"
"Yes! That's what they called him."
Hunter looked at Alex with an annoyed expression. "So they are targeting Lux?"
"It doesn't matter," Alex replied.
"You could have saved yourself the trouble and told me this since. But I'll let it slide since I don't have time for you." He replied as he walked to the other end of the street.
"What is it now?" Alex said as he stood up.
Hunter turned around. "Let's have a deal. If you manage to beat me, I'll let you go out of here alive. However, if I beat you, I'll kill you as a bonus."
Alex was shocked by the offer, but he knew he couldn't lose.
He created an ice spear and aimed it at Hunter.
"Ice?" Hunter said this in shock as he looked at the spear in Alex's hands.
"I can control the temperature of a person or a thing. But I can also control fire and ice."
Hunter smirked as he raised his hands."I hope that was worth your life."
As soon as he said that, a large amount of electricity went through the air and hit Alex, knocking him back into the wall.
Alex stood up as he walked over to Hunter. "Well, it looks like your power isn't as strong as you thought it was." Hunter asked.
"I've felt worse."
"Well, in that case, I can use you to get my touch back."
Alex looked at him with a confused look. "What do you mean?"
"If you win, you could get out of here alive. Doesn't that sound nice to you?" He said this as he placed his hand on Alex's shoulder.
Alex turned white as he looked at Hunter with a horrified look. "Get away from me."
"Don't be stupid! I'm offering you a way out!" Hunter said as he pressed his hand harder against Alex's shoulder.
Alex hurled a ball at Hunter, but he dodged it immediately.
"I'll advise you to go all out, by the way."
