Chapter 35 - Chapter 35 : Return to Kanto circuit

------Archer's pov----

When I first heard about Sam's concerns for my dip in reputation, I felt like laughing.

My negative reputation will become words in the wind if the Gym is established and the business becomes a success.

The pain in the ass feeling is that I had to do them now, instead of at some distant point in future. Because Dregen's reputation is still fresh and powerful, without it, I would have to start from the beginning.

Of course, I could just give up this task, but my pride says otherwise. Because I genuinely believe I can do this.

It was a hectic month managing the establishment of all the transfers of properties in the will to the respective inheritors.

Along with that, there was still trouble with acquiring the properties around the village. They extend up to the coast and the few islands near the coast.

Though I must say the Alliance is promoting the sale of land, any issues that arise from the said land are my responsibility.

Luckily, the village being a remote area came to my advantage.

Most of the 100 million dollars were spent on this. The rest was used for the establishment of the electronics factory and the research lab. Even with the fast construction of the Pokémon world, it is expected to take time, at least a year. Not to mention the companies that can take up the contract are countable on one hand.

Now, only the property was obtained, and licenses were finished. However, with the right sources, the construction can be done. With the profits from the electronic industry, then I can develop the sites I purchased.

As for research labs, while it is a risk or lottery for others. It is a gold mine to me. With the foreknowledge of Feebas, Eevee, Rhydorn and the Fairy type alone, it will lay golden eggs for me.

Then, there is my plan to establish a breeding house. The core part of the Pokemon-based economy, as for the rare Pokemon to breed, I can only say I am a proud watcher of Anime or as legally called Otaku in my previous life. I know where to find tribes of rare Pokemon.

While the breeding problem can be solved with my AI or Rotomdex which I plan to develop by acquiring a Porygon, to increase the process speed. Even the security forces can be given a good breeding plan, an ideal situation of two birds for one stone.

I heard a knock on the door and soon saw Jonathan entering with Jon and Sam. I asked them as they sat in the seats, "So, how's it going?"

Jonathan rubbed his chin and said, "Actually quite good, Dregen's buying of the officers to not put the crime records on them was truly beneficial. Unlike the green boys found in Gym circuits, these guys are veteran combatants."

I sighed, at the least bastard's kindness had at this benefit. While he couldn't solve the established cases, he did his best by preventing any new cases from appearing.

My employees remembered that well and showed loyalty which made me praise him. But then there were the problems he left that made me grow resentment against him.

Sam said with a weary tone, "I asked around and even visited Sonia, Ethan's wife to inquire about the situation. There was always a problematic relationship between them, but to secure the kid's future, she went to the extent of divorcing him and changing the kid's name from Ethan's surname. You know about what happened after that. "

While divorce was an extreme example, I understood their situation, but any association with them would give a brand to me. A criminal brand that has not been removed from all my life.

But, I don't know what feel of his open statement to make me pay the price if a gym wasn't opened as per promise.

A goal for which I need to win the Indigo Tournament conference now, on my first attempt. You must know it has never been done. Each of the participants has crossed through at least 8 gyms. While the gyms may not be as strict as Major 8, they are no joke.

Of course, there are also freaks like Sabrina, gym trainers, and members of the oldest families in Indigo and other regions who participate in the tournament.

Yes, as the leading example, Indigo opened all borders for foreign trainers, but it is only an occasional trainer that comes for it. Not even as much during the start of Ash's time. It is understandable, considering in this world travel is prone to all types of wild Pokémon attacks or terrorism.

Not to forget the big guy that roams in the Stratosphere.

Jon asked me a question that was plaguing me, "How are the chances in the Tournament?"

"Currently, none. But after the remaining 4 months when the registration time closes, 50%."

While the room is shocked, they are for different reasons. Jon and Sam are mostly surprised at me losing, after all, my Electivire and Slaking crushed their team in the spar. Not to mention the others.

But Jonathan, who knew the difficulty, is surprised by confidence at 50%. The confidence I got from my second advantage as a reincarnate- Metaknowledge. I have plans to use it to increase my team's strength.

Even my current fame more or less came from my striving for the Breeder title.

However, I hope my plan works because if it works Kleavor's strength might surpass even Slaking and Electrivre.

I was brought out of my thoughts by Jon again, who asked me, "Why so less?"

I sighed and showed him a video, of a guy dressed in a half suit, with silver-blue hair about my age, 12-13 years old, coming through the airport, "I am here to win the Indigo league."

With the caption, the arrogant Ever Grande Conference winner comes with daring ambition.

Good Hoho, I couldn't help but say, "Why does this guy come here? I mean Steven Stone is Devon's heir, right."

If the most notable youth trainers were listed, I might make the top 5. But this guy is no.1 without a doubt. He has been famous since birth, the sole inheritor of an old family from his mother's side which specialized in steel. Then his father, the leader of Devon.

Steven's advantages =

Filthy rich. His starter Pokemon, a Pseudo legendary that grew up alongside him and a steel-type team that has been a staple in his mother's family for generations. My team is the proof of power in Breeding. With his wealth, he can have dozens of breeders for each of his Pokemon alone.

Absurd talent. He already completed his economic and MBA studies, even working as a Model and Deputy director for his company, in a way his status is higher than mine just based on his position in Devon. I could always remember this guy to remind myself that I am in my second go of life.

finally Filthy rich absurd talent, He climbed the top 8 on the first try and won the conference on the second try.

Sam said with a hint of helplessness, "It was due to your announcement."

"Huh!", My lamentations or inner jealousy were cut short by Sam's words. While it took me some time to process the sudden change in track of my thoughts, Sam elaborated his words.

"He is here due to your announcement. Your proclamation lifted the spirits of our employees here but when it reached central Kanto, it was taken as a provocation to the participants. What I didn't guess was that it would reach Hoenn."

It is a pain in the ass. I could see how my announcement hurt the ego.

From his perspective, it turned out to be a rare challenge from a guy in the same generation, shouting surpassing his achievements.

It is easy to see because I also have the same ego and competitiveness. Well, it is no use in thinking of it now.

I turned to Sam and Jon and said, "Whatever, be prepared for the change in pace, because you guys are coming with me too. Though Jonathan you will stay here to train the security forces and handle the situation."

Jonathan nodded at that knowing he was required here. But he did say, "Take Samantha, and there are some guys quite talented in the company, take them too."

I got his meaning, I need to form a relation with them, since they are good trainers and probably will form the core of the company.

It is better to do it while Jonathan is still there to hold the fort. Besides, I need the security since I openly said to change Bharatsa. The ones who will be affected will be the ones in power. The majority of them are corrupt and Violent.

In my precarious position, it is not even funny to believe in absolute safety. Even the Gym leader position is an actual requirement to be stable.

I still remember the cause of Dregen's death- Murder. Now, I am in his position.

FUSCHIA CITY, A MONTH AFTER DREGEN'S FUNERAL

As we arrived in Fuchsia City via a plane, I started gearing up for my battle against Koga for the 6th gym badge, trying my best to not bitch about the Jet lag.

As long as I complete the gym today, I can start my preparations for winning the Tournament, of which, the first one would be getting that Pokemon in the Safari zone.😉

I prepared the sequence of Pokemon in the mock battle board.

Seeing my repeated use of Beedrill as the main force, Jon, my first fan couldn't help but say, "Isn't there a type of resistance to Beedrill?"

"Ah, Jon, my friend," I chuckled, "while it may seem like a foolish move due to Poison types' resistance to Bug and Beedrill's own Poison typing, it's not as simple as it appears. A true trainer is measured by their ability to raise their Pokémon to a level where type disadvantages are merely hurdles, not barriers. Otherwise, we could defeat Zapdos by simply throwing a Geodude at it!"

I let Jon think over this as we made our way to the gym.

In the world of Pokémon battles, type advantages are just one piece of the puzzle. Strategy, on-the-spot tactics, and sheer strength all play their roles.

The only immunity that truly matters is strength. If your opponent is overwhelmingly powerful, no type of advantage will save you. It's like trying to extinguish a forest fire with a single drop of water.

While it might seem straightforward in the Pokémon games or TV series, real battles are far more complex. If winning were as easy as following type matchups, I'd have been a champion within a year!

For this particular battle, I've assembled a team consisting of Beedrill, Rookidee, Kleavor, Annihilape, Eevee, and Charizard. While the others are undoubtedly strong, I've decided to give Beedrill the spotlight this time.

It's a decision my team supports wholeheartedly.

As we walked through the city streets, Jon's curious nature showed itself once again. Sometimes, I wonder if he's more of a student to me than a friend.

"Ah, I understand now," Jon said out loud, "your Electrivire, who was once an Elekid, managed to defeat Flint's Pokémon because you've spent years breeding and training it. Flint, on the other hand, relies on random Pokémon of his typing, as dictated by League restrictions."

"Exactly," I confirmed, "but with the restrictions loosening up for each badge won, Gym Leaders like Koga can now use Pokémon from their teams, as long as they're at the same level as mine. That's why Gym Leaders must have at least a Breeder degree in their speciality. They need to know which Pokémon are suitable for battle."

Jon nodded thoughtfully, jotting down notes in his notebook. I breathed a sigh of relief, thinking the questioning was over. But then he flipped to a new page and asked, "What about Eleana using Solar Beam back to back? She didn't even charge up or use Sunny Day."

I paused, considering his question. "Ah, that's her speciality," I explained, "it's like her Ace Pokémon can rapidly unleash a full-powered Solar Beam. The Pokémon she used in that battle was likely a descendant of her Pokemon or a new addition to her team. The Solar Beams used back then are not as powerful as ones shown in Media, even though they were just as fast."

Jon pondered this for a moment before continuing, "So wouldn't it be more effective to focus on training a move like that, even at the expense of other moves?"

I stopped in my tracks, giving Jon a 'Are you joking' look. It didn't take him long to realize his own mistake. "Ah, yes," he chuckled, "every trainer has their unique path to success. What works for one may not work for another. It worked for her, so good."

As Samantha and Sam met us in front of the Gym, our respective suited followers merged seamlessly into a single group.

Jonathan had worked wonders with this group. They are almost professional bodyguards and most importantly they are competent Pokemon trainers.

Though Derek, the captain of this group had mentioned they underwent some intense training, that left him shivering. I made a mental note to thank Jonathan later for his work.

As we entered the Fuchsia Gym, Derek and his team of suited followers led the way, with Jon and Sam following closely behind me. Samantha, the short-haired fair woman went ahead to inquire about the battlefield for the gym trial.

[Samantha Ruth Prabhu: Someone paste an image here, please.]

She soon returned with the information, saying, "The battle is scheduled to take place in 10 minutes in the third field. Koga will be your opponent, as expected."

"Thanks, Samantha. Let's head there now," I replied, nodding in acknowledgement.

As we made our way to the field, I couldn't help but feel grateful for the medical skills I had acquired in my previous life. It was thanks to my treatment of Jonathan and the core members of our group in that incident where Jonathan lost his limb, that they held me in such high regard.

In a way, Samantha was the closest thing to a romantic encounter I'd had in both of my lives. Frankly, a pathetic thing.

[Author's note: Before the journey, chapter 6: Incident. The woman who was given CPR]

Of course, CPR wasn't exactly a kiss, but it is a means to save lives. Trust me when the patient is a minute from becoming a dead body, no thoughts of lust will come to mind.
