Anger simmered within me as I paced back and forth, my eyes locked onto Dregen. The last step of sending the injured Pokémon to the PokéCenter had hit an unexpected roadblock – opposition from the patients themselves.

My frustration reached its peak when even the most critically injured Pokémon resisted being transported to the safety of a Pokémon Center.

Their trainers, fueled by some unseen force, vehemently opposed the idea, creating a standoff that threatened the well-being of the Pokémon.

Unable to contain my anger, I shot a glare at the unseen force.

He sighed and approached me while explaining, "You can guess that we are more or less a group of like-minded people" he began, his tone calm despite the tense atmosphere.

"You mean a gang," I retorted, my sarcasm was not lost on Dregen. His fists tightened and said that much. While it was childish and a bit asshole move, I am covered with blood, tissue, and toxins. So, you can imagine my state of mind.

Dregen continued his explanation which ended with, "That gang of bitchs had kidnapped the son of a member of our gang in retaliation for our rules in streets of Telios. After hearing their demands, we realized that they had the additional aim to blackmail a Pokémon from the father of the kidnapped kid, a member of our group."

My eyebrows furrowed as I processed the information. What kind of Pokémon would warrant such a high-risk situation?

Before I could voice my thoughts, the victim's father, Jonathan, stepped forward with the answer, "A pseudo-legendary – Garchomp," he stated, his voice filled with a mixture of anger and desperation.

"Spit out the entire truth now," I demanded, my anger not subsiding.

"Even for a pseudo-legend, they would not try to kill. Trust me, the wounds and state were without a doubt made with the intent to kill," I continued, my frustration and concern evident in my voice.

Dregen sighed, acknowledging the severity of the situation. "It's because of me," he admitted a weight of guilt in his words.

"Fucking fantastic. It is kind of obvious, considering your Pokémon are in the most critical condition," I retorted filled with anger, which can't be controlled by a hormonal child's body. Trust me, you don't understand a healer's irritation of them not choosing to follow my instructions and go to a hospital.

Jon, the kidnapped victim, screamed out in frustration. "You know nothing, Archer," he added, attempting to voice his side of the story.

Dregen silenced Jon with a stern look before continuing, "It was a trap from the start. The new head of the rival gang was waiting for us."

"So who is this guy?" I inquired with a visible strain in my voice.

"He is the son of the man I killed in the past," Dregen admitted, the disgust evident in his voice, mirrored by the faces of everyone present. Whoever that guy was, he seemed to inspire some incredible hatred among the kind idiots. I will call them idiots forever if they don't seek treatment.

Still, His words hung heavy in the air, making him realize another layer of complexity to the already tense situation. Whatever may be the past, it seems to be a sore point for everyone. I can find it later but important things must be handled first.

My frustration burst out in response to Dregen's words, "So I get the start of the issue, but why are you resisting going to the Poké Centre now?" The urgency in my voice matched the gravity of the circumstances.

Dregen, despite the pain in his smile, explained, "The resources needed to heal everyone can't be hidden with bribes. Once higher-ups get involved, the case will turn serious."

"You're telling me you'll be jailed," I summarized, my frustration escalating.

Dregen nodded solemnly, "Yes."

"So what? It's either a lifetime of disabilities for these people or an unknown number of years in imprisonment for you," I argued.

"It's not that easy. The moment we're jailed, gangs will strike Berry Town and surrounding villages to bring them under their influence. To describe them is not possible in simple words like cruel. Not to mention the price heaped on our loved ones for past grudges." Dregen explained, revealing the intricate web of consequences that his actions held for those he cared about.

The weight of the situation pressed upon him left him with a difficult choice and an uncertain future.

I wish that the mind scans by psychics were legal, then the entire crime world can be crushed. But it is idealism at best. Not to forget the Sinnoh accords guarding the Sanctity of mind, such a world would eventually collapse from abuse of power.

Of course, the most famous feature of Bharatsa is corruption. Not the clans, the gangs, or culture conflicts but something that is fed by all the mentioned issues. It makes one vicious cycle.

This is the reason I wanted to leave for Kanto. It is not just mentioning the restrictive environment but also the gangs and the corrupted government that is seen as an everyday part of life.

[ Corrupted with basic morals, Corrupted, and unrestrained corrupted, a quote by former chairman Goodshow describing the government of Bharatsa, a country that is part of Kanto, Indigo league.]

"That's it."

I sprang to my feet at the solution that stuck my head, making my way to Jonathan's laptop. "Hey! That's mine," Jonathan protested groggily.

"I know. Silph Corp military-grade tech, the best in the world. Usually issued only to Kanto special forces and international police force," I explained, shaking my head at the irony of such advanced technology ending up in this situation.

His former military status and the apparent presence of a Pseudo-legendary on him, tell a story behind Jonathan, but I pushed them into my mental list of things to find out about in the future.

I quickly started typing on the sophisticated equipment, utilizing software prepared by me in the AI database for a rainy day.

Little did I expect that day to come so soon?

The coding involved the best utilization of AI, a complex task that took an entire year, even with the help of other software makers. It felt like an entire day spent just typing commands.

"Tell me the name of one of the higher-ups in the opposite gang," I demanded, my eyes scanning the faces of the crowd for a response.

"Alexander," came a voice from the crowd.

It seemed most of them had returned their Pokémon to their Poké Balls after the emergency treatment I provided. At least they will be stable after my treatment, though the window for further assistance was closing rapidly.

I questioned Dregen, " Know this while I can help you get treatment and even compensation It will be only temporary at best. I give a few years at best before you will be jailed."

Dregen wondered, "How". But soon composed himself with a rigid nod.

I soon hacked into the simple mobile network of one Alexander, through it into any traceable wifi.

[Enter command: zx pidgeot]

[enter command:: TY terinate]

From there I hacked into the gang devices including the leader.

[enter command :: BEXZE]

From them, I traced entire transactions, phone calls, messages even porn history. I then separated them all night into crimes and evidence.

God, I don't know most of the stuff, but they sure were lucky this hacking is not reductant yet. If it was a few years in the future, it would be caught in a second.

Making me remember a certain artificial Pokemon that will be soon introduced to ensure network security.

It was just the Pokémon world is, the technology advanced so rapidly every day that the new uses were not configured as people just didn't hit the limit yet.

If given the same equipment the past life hackers would have fucked the alliance now but then again, the new update based on the little block Pokémon will fuck them back in years.

Sigh, I need some sleep because I am tripping with fumes now.

------------------------------------

As soon as the new day rose, I got to my feet and showed the organized data, " You are lucky guys. If it is a few years from now or even if it is in the main region. You would be fucked. Now you are safe temporarily but will be fucked in the future."

I heard bursts of exclamations from them as they read the entire gang list including even the bribed officials.

The most important being a crime listing them attacking their hiking group in the mountains, to steal Garchomp from Jonathan.

The room fell silent as the weight of my words sank in. The initial relief and joy turned into a mixture of gratitude and anxiety. Dregen, however, remained composed, understanding the precarious situation they were in.

I continued, "I've bought you some time, but you must act wisely. The evidence is organized. Just send it to an officer in your payroll, You'll be recognized as victims, and with the right legal representation, you might even get compensation."

Dregen nodded appreciatively, but his eyes betrayed the concern lurking beneath the surface. "Archer, I can't thank you enough for what you've done."

I sighed, acknowledging the gravity of the situation. "Just remember, this is a temporary fix. The Alliance is advancing technologically, and sooner or later, they'll update their system to Porygon-based services. At that point, every transaction, every message, every call will be traced and exposed. Your safety is short-lived."

The room's atmosphere grew tense as they processed the reality of their situation. I couldn't offer them a permanent solution, and the uncertainty of their future hung heavily in the air.

Dregen's gaze met mine, a mix of gratitude and regret in his eyes. "Archer, I know this isn't an ideal solution, but for now, it's our best shot. Thank you."

With a nod, I acknowledged his words, but a sense of unease lingered within me. The reprieve I provided came with its own set of complications, leaving me to wonder about the consequences that awaited them down the line.

As they discussed their next steps, I couldn't shake the feeling of being caught in a moral dilemma. I had helped them navigate the immediate crisis, but the ethical implications of their actions and the potential consequences weighed on my conscience. It is simple, if jailed at least these guys would remain safe in there. But now outside, they will continue on their self-imposed quest to better society.

Though it is ironic, the same corruption that disgusted me, and which they are fighting against, is going to help them now.
