[Author's note: I only gave minor changes in some chapters to increase its quality. So, I am just mentioning this fact beforehand.]
As I landed at Viridian International Airport, the bustling heart of what was forecasted to become Kanto's number-one city, I couldn't help but marvel at the metropolitan atmosphere. The scenic view of the city, combining both nature and technology, unfolded before me, a stark contrast to the familiar sights of Bharatsa.
The towering skyscrapers and bustling streets promised the start of my journey.
Navigating through the lively city, I made my way to the Pokémon Center, a familiar rest point for trainers.
-Pokemon Centre, Viridian City.-
Stepping into the Pokémon Center in Viridian City, I was immediately enveloped in a sense of familiarity mixed with the excitement of new beginnings. The pristine white walls echoed with the cheerful cries of Pokémon, and the inviting aroma of Potions and Berries filled the air.
Nurse Joy, with her signature pink hair and crisp white uniform, greeted me warmly as I approached the front desk. Her bright blue eyes sparkled with genuine joy at her job being a Pokémon healer. Trust me, I can recognize doctors or Nurses, who love their job despite the difficulties.
Behind her, the healing machine softly hummed, attending to the injured or tired Pokémon of other trainers.
"Welcome to the Viridian City Pokémon Center!" Nurse Joy exclaimed with a warm smile. "How can I assist you today?"
I handed her my trainer card, watching as she deftly scanned it with a small device. As she processed the information, she engaged in friendly conversation.
"So, you're a new trainer in Kanto! Exciting times ahead with the Circuit about to start. If you need any healing or information, feel free to ask," Nurse Joy offered, her cheerful demeanor that instantly put me at ease. No wonder the Joy clan, seemed to be known as the perfect healer.
If everyone can manage the same vibe, then I can see they already completed 50% of the job as a healer.
I expressed my thanks and explained my purpose. "I'm here to register for the Kanto Circuit, something you already guessed. I am just new to the city."
Nurse Joy nodded, understanding. "Fantastic! After all, every new trainer will more or less participate in the circuit. While we process your registration, take a look around the city. Our Pokémon Center offers various services like stay, food, training field..."
I took her advice and looked around the Pokémon Center.
Trainers were engaged in conversations, some sharing stories of their recent battles, while others patiently waited for their Pokémon to be healed. Even though I could mesh well with a crowd, I tend to stay as a introvert, when I can.
I spent the time looking everywhere or just browsing through the Pokenet, using the local PC.
"Poke Announcement: Trainer Archer, please collect your PTC at the Front Desk."
After a brief time, I returned to the front desk, where Nurse Joy handed me back my trainer card. "All set! Your registration is complete. Good luck on your journey, and don't hesitate to visit if you need assistance. Pokémon Center is like a home away from home for trainers."
Thanking Nurse Joy, I came out of the poke center. However, I couldn't help but notice her explaining what seemed to be common knowledge to other Kanto members. It showed she is knowledgeable about the conditions of Bharatsa.
It is something incredible considering travelling in the Pokemon world is quite dangerous even when it became commercially available for inter-region with the advent of flights.
Of course, the S.S Anne is the first commercial transport in the world. There is a reason it has a reputation. As far as I know, it makes 2 trips across the Pokemon league, armed with an army of Trainers as protection, even hiring a couple of Elite trainers.
Streets of Vidrian city.
Strolling through the lively streets of Viridian City, I immersed myself in the bustling atmosphere that defined Kanto. The alluring scent of street food teased my taste buds as I meandered past vibrant stalls adorned with colorful banners and animated conversations.
"Rotomdex, what should we try first?" I inquired, adjusting my bag's strap while glancing at the floating Pokédex by my side.
"Well, Archer, Viridian City is known for its Meatballs, Salads and fruit juices. How about trying the famous Saffron Curry?" Rotomdex suggested with a hint of excitement in its digital voice.
"Sounds good. Lead the way," I replied, following the directions displayed on Rotomdex's screen. The city's traffic surrounded me as I navigated through lively streets, occasionally pausing to appreciate bustling storefronts and charming Pokémon-themed cafés.
Approaching the Saffron Curry stand, the tantalizing aroma of spices enveloped me. The friendly cook behind the counter greeted me with a warm smile, "Welcome, Trainer! Care to try our signature curry?"
"Absolutely!" I exclaimed, my stomach eagerly anticipating the feast. Rotomdex hovered near the counter, capturing the entire process in its digital memory.
The first bite of the Saffron Curry exploded with flavors – a delightful fusion of Kanto spices dancing on my taste buds. As I savored each mouthful, locals and tourists alike struck up conversations, intrigued by the rare sight of Elekid and the high-tech Rotomdex.
"Is that an Elekid? Haven't seen one of those around here!" a passerby exclaimed, pointing at my companion.
"Yeah, raised him since he was an egg," I replied, a proud smile gracing my face.
Rotomdex chimed in, "And I'm Rotomdex, a cutting-edge Pokédex created by Archer. "
"WEEDLE"
He got a nice greeting from the bug type on Elekid's head. The kind man introduced himself and struck up a conversation with the little guy, making sure to feel it included.
The digital device emitted a friendly beep signaling a photograph captured, earning curious glances from onlookers. The combination of Elekid's vibrant energy and Rotomdex's futuristic charm drew attention, and soon, I found myself engaged in lively conversations about Pokémon, travel, and the unique gadgets I carried.
After savoring the delicious curry, Elekid and I continued our exploration of Viridian City.
As the day unfolded, Elekid and I explored the iconic landmarks of Viridian City, soaking in the historical and cultural richness.
Rotomdex provided insights and interesting facts, turning the day into an educational and entertaining adventure.
The sun dipped below the horizon, casting a warm glow on Viridian City as I reflected on the day's discoveries.
"Guys, today was incredible. I didn't expect to enjoy the city this much," I remarked, leaning against a railing overlooking the cityscape.
"It's the charm of Viridian City! And there's still so much more to explore in Kanto, considering there is still the Indigo League recently, we have 3 months before it picks up speed again. However, it is better to complete your plans as early as possible. "
"Sounds like a plan. Let's wrap up here for today and get a good night's rest for tomorrow's journey," I agreed with Rotomdex's words, recalling Elekid to its Poké Ball.
As I headed back to the Pokémon Center, I couldn't help but think about the reason my trainer details were signed by Viridian Gym.
I set aside thoughts of Dregen aside and went to sleep in the 'Safest' city of Kanto.
-The next day-
-Pokemon Centre-
Waking up to the gentle sunlight streaming into the room,
As the sun rose over Viridian City, I decided it was time to begin the training routine for my new teammate, Weedle.
I began the day by providing it with a carefully crafted diet, rich in Oddish leaves, Lum Berry poke blocks, and supplements of calcium and chitin. Chitin played a crucial role in preparing Weedle for its eventual evolution into Beedrill.
"Do you remember, Big Bro Beedrill?"
Seated beside Weedle, I explained each aspect of its training regimen, drawing parallels with its evolved form, Beedrill, which was currently under the watchful eye of Sam back in Bharatsa.
Weedle's initial focus would be on mastering String Shot in varying lengths and strengths. This foundational skill would serve as a basis for the subsequent phases of its training.
"See it setting the trap for that butterfly. Soon, you will be able to do the same."
I pulled up images and videos of Beedrill's training sessions, highlighting the intricate patterns and lengths of string it could produce. Weedle observed, seemingly eager to emulate its big brother.
The next phase involved shaping the strings produced during String Shot.
"Weedle's body", I explained, "would naturally strengthen uniformly through this process. This was essential for its growth and eventual evolution."
I hoped that this initial training would pave the way for Weedle to learn its egg moves – Agility and Bug Bite – sooner than later.
"Agility and bug bite, while something that is learned automatically by your line, it is quite useful to have it from an early age. It might be the biggest gift Papa Beedrill left for you."
Weedle's eyes glistened at that, I waited till it firmed up under Elekid's encouragement. Time passed so soon. The little guy wanting charges, grew up to be the caretaker of the newer lighter guy.
My thought brought a smile to my face as I continued to explain.
Passive training for Weedle included the application of mild poisons on its horn, an essential step to develop Poison Sting. This was a routine I performed daily, and Weedle, despite the discomfort, seemed to understand the importance.
As the training progressed, Weedle's tiny body began to show signs of exhaustion. Sensing this, Elekid, who had been cheering on throughout the process, gently picked up the tired Weedle and returned it to the safety of the space bag for a well-deserved nap.
With Weedle taken care of, Elekid and I embarked on our routine training session.
My Electric-type partner, always buzzing with energy, eagerly greeted the new day with Shedding sweat and Electricity.
As we started our warm-up exercises, memories flooded back—of the daily routine of convertor charge that led to Elekid learning Charge, and Discharge.
The daily charge routines had been instrumental in Elekid's growth. I remembered the day it mastered storing electricity, learning Charge to boost power and Discharge to release energy throughout its body.
"Nice Thunder Punch, Elekid! Now, let's focus on refining Light Screen."
Throughout the training, I couldn't help but feel happy at the progress we had made. Light Screen, His latest addition, still needed some fine-tuning.
"Come on, Elekid, you've got this!" I cheered, as it brought up the defensive psychic screen.
As we continued the session, I reflected on Elekid's most unique training routine—Rest. Consuming its daily psychic reserve, Elekid extended its day, completely replacing sleep with this Rest.
It was something not done by Elekid species but usually seen in fighting type pokemon who with discipline replace their sleep with Rest after years of effect.
As for psychic Pokemon, most of them use it with absurd ease that they won't even go to sleep while using it. If you have trouble imagining it, look at Abra. It was the next checkpoint in Elekid's mastery of Rest.
Though the Elekid's rapid improvement has to do with me stopping any side effects, with some research.
Of course, It was done with help of Rotomdex.
Rotomdex was developed to cater specifically to Elekid's intense training routine, checking for the success of the dietary changes and training adjustments. Doing deep scans of Elekid for change in routine to establish safety checks.
In the early days, the process was volatile, marked by rapid shifts in Elekid's routines. It took two years for the adjustments to settle, and a year ago, Rest had completely replaced traditional sleep.
The progress was nothing short of astonishing, a testament to Elekid's unwavering dedication since the day it lost its innocence looking at Jonathan's plight, the crippled bodies of Dregen's Pokémon.
I couldn't help but praise my starter for his progress.
"Fantastic work, Elekid. Your dedication is truly paying off. As long as you keep pushing your limits you will reach the top," I praised, giving Elekid a pat on the head, using the chance as much as I could. Considering one day, he will grow past me.
After refreshing myself and having a hearty breakfast later, I arrived at the reason for my early arrival in Kanto.
POKEMON ACADEMY FOR VIRDRIANS
I made my way to the institution founded and overseen by none other than Mr. Giovanni himself. Gym leader of the strongest gym in Kanto.
A surprising fact considering Viridian didn't have a gym before him due to its proximity to its namesake forest.
He is named by many titles but the most important are the Greatest of his generation. Closest to Oak.
Trust me people, Oak is the closest thing to Jesus or Gandhi for the people here. Except Oak had ruled like a Hitler who had a good heart.
In underground circles, they don't know of Giovanni's identity but are aware of his existence as Boss, Him, and Rocket's Tyrant.
But for this City and academy, he was the greatest contributor to its growth.
The academy boasted state-of-the-art facilities, the latest equipment, and an impressive faculty, making it a rising star in the field of Pokémon education.
The academy had already made a mark, surpassing even the prestigious Silver Academy in Johto in the domain of Pokémon breeding. Intrigued by the prospects, many stepped into its hallways.
I moved through the busy halls to the registration office for the Breeder course.
Without hesitation, I handed over a hefty sum of 1,000,000 poke dollars, securing my admission to the academy. The process was remarkably swift, well it should be considering the amount I paid. Also, I paid because I don't intend to wait an entire year for the scholar ship entrance exams which were completed one month back for this year.
Armed with my registration details, I headed towards the adjacent office, boldly named "Graduation."
Entering the office, I faced the shocked stares of onlookers, who couldn't comprehend me -a new registry signified by my civilian clothes and registration form entering here. I then boldly confirmed the first thought that crossed their mind but couldn't accept it to be true.
"I wish to graduate,"
