"You seem to have quite the enthusiasm tho-"
"Yes!" Sutow interrupted me while looking all too excited, just like he had been when I asked him to spectate the fight with me.
"If I could eat them..." I looked at Sutow with suspicious and doubting eyes when I heard what he said next. "…That'd be great." That was how Sutow continued his words. "But I know I can't since you said not to. Just the smell of blood should be enough though." He smiled after finishing his sentence, looking up at me while looking like he remembered a great day.
It seriously creeped me out, so much that I was beginning to think that it might not be a good idea to go with this plan.
But I still decided to proceed with it. I figured I could stop Sutow from going on a cannibalistic rampage, and I trusted he wouldn't, since he was able to control himself before. As for him liking the smell of blood, I figured I'd just let that be, as it might just be a racial trait that there was no point in making an effort to get rid of.
'He just likes the smell of blood, while being able to resist the urge to consume it. That's good enough. It's not too strange even on Earth. He could just become a butcher, or go to a battlefield." I deduced.
'What I need to make sure of is to discipline him into not eating intelligent beings. I need to teach him the limits of being inhumane… Even if I might not care that he'd eat others, him becoming a cannibal might bring danger to myself.' That's what I was actually concerned about. I found cannibalistic acts disgusting, but most importantly, I found it a concern to myself and my surroundings. Having a cannibal around would be like having a ticking bomb with me. It would only bring more chaos than I'd ever need.
Ending the topic like this inside my mind, I went back to focusing my attention on the fight. While watching, I felt someone nudging me on my back. Sutow was poking me with his finger, trying to call me as he wanted to say something.
Looking down to see what he wanted, I remembered that I still had yet to tell him about my plan that involved his assistance. Realizing this, I didn't say anything anyway. I let Sutow personally ask me instead since it seemed he was about to do so at the moment after calling for my attention.
"Let's wait for the ration of food to come first. I still have yet to recover, and also, we don't know if, by the time the food arrives, the two will still be fighting. At any time, this plan that I have might have to change or might even become invalid. So, let me eat first. If the situation is still the same after I eat, then I'll tell you about it." I told Sutow, which he replied to with a slight nod of understanding. However, there was a bit of disappointment in his face which he couldn't hide.
It didn't take much longer before the next person arrived through the teleportation circle. While that happened, the fight between the giant and the robed figure was still ongoing.
Also, Sutow's senses were no longer restricted, meaning that he too could see the fight.
"Sutow, bring him here to us," I ordered him to guide the temporarily blinded person towards where we were standing.
After a while, when the kid arrived along with Sutow, I didn't dawdle around and immediately asked the kid to hand over the ration that he had brought with him.
"Good job holding onto this. I really need it right now." I told the kid after taking hold of the ration.
A few seconds had already passed when I was done eating. It seems that I was fortunate enough to only need so much food to heal my broken bones, aware of this as I felt no more hindering pain in my back. 'Looks like repositioning my bones wasn't necessary. The healing did it on its own, it seems…' I thought to myself while stretching my body, looking to see if there might be something wrong with my back.
'Maybe it's because it was just broken bones instead of dislocated ones.' I doubted that my healing ability could go to the extent of repositioning my body to its correct form, as that could mean that the healing ability did its job by bringing the body back to its previous healthy state, a possibility that I considered incorrect, as it didn't make sense because of how my muscles were able to recover and grow stronger through the use of this healing ability.
With my muscles able to grow stronger, it was evident that the healing ability didn't bring one back to their previous healthy state. The ability was as its purpose was, fast recovery. Not some magical time manipulation ability, which might seem powerful, but which I found would be more limiting, potentially wise.
'Hm… Some day, when I have time again, not bedridden by enemies continuously, I should find out more about this ability of mine. I do have an idea already tho-'
I felt someone poking me again while I was distracted by my thoughts. "So, do we continue with that plan?" It was Sutow who had been poking me, interrupting my thoughts because he couldn't wait to get into battle and satisfy his lust for the smell of blood.
I didn't mind that Sutow had interrupted me from my thoughts. I was glad that he did that in fact, as it got me out of my habit of thinking too much and wasting some time as a result.
At the moment, time was of essence if I wanted to apply my plan with Sutow into reality. I didn't feel as motivated with this plan as I had initially been however, which is why I had delayed a little by having had myself distracted with thoughts instead of telling Sutow to go with me right after eating.
