Chapter 19 - 19 - Stupidity: Goten

I sighed heavily before entering her room. "Trunks are here," I informed her. She was sitting in a crumbled up little package on the floor with only the comfort of a towel wrapped around her form.

I swallowed lumpy at the view before my eyes. She looked up at me and my heart sunk into my shoes. She's crying. Why is she crying? "He's too early," I heard her mumble as she wiped a tear away. I knelt down to her level after she asked me to inform Trunks that she won't be joining him tonight.

I wrapped my hands around her face and hear how my mouth said something completely different from what my heart is actually feeling. I've noticed that she likes me more then just a little, but she seems to like him more and so therefore I have to let her go. She deserves to be happy, even if I'm not the one who makes her cheerful.

I use my thumb to wipe her tears away; it's warm against my skin. I could lean in closer and kiss her perfect lips. It's not like I'll be unfaithful to Valese because we're not dating yet. She's just a friend that could potentially be more then a mere companion. I leaned in closer and so did she…

"I think that's enough!" Dad stated harshly as he took his stand in the doorway. As mom joined him he continued: "Sorry to intrude, but I think that it's for the best if you leave. As for you young lady, you should be getting ready, Trunks is already waiting for you downstairs. Mom passed me as I made to my feet. I looked down at her.

Was she really willing to accept a kiss from me? Had I been analyzing this entire situation incorrectly? Had I been trapped within my own stupidity? "Here, try this on my dear," mom told her. I left the room and so did dad. He closed the door behind him and guided it like a bounty hunter. I made my way to the living area and put on my best poker face. "Hey bud," I greeted Trunks as I plumped down on a sofa opposite him. "Hey yourself, you've been a stranger lately. What have you been up to?" Trunks asked making some small talk as he waited for Melody. "You know same old stuff. Hanging out with Valese and training with dad," I shrugged it off. I'm not lying because I had been spending a lot of time with her as of lately, but we really aren't dating. Trunks nodded in understanding.

When she walked into the living room, I choked on my breath. She's absolutely beautiful. The red dress clings to her in all of the right places. Her legs seem so much longer in those heels. Her hair falls in long delicate curls down her back. Her studs had been exchanged for hoops. Her lips shimmers in the light, making me want to kiss those lips even more. I was just about to stand up, when Trunks beat me to it. He told her how beautiful she looks and gave her a kiss on the cheek. My heart shattered into a million pieces, it could have been me!
