After the lost age, humanity worked towards getting stronger, wishing to conquer and reclaim back their world, and in other to fulfill this prideful ambition, it was only normal that they had an idea of what their world looked like.
How the world had been before the lost age was now a blur to humanity, but what they did know was how their world was at present.
Still spherical in shape, the world was divided into two, the red ocean and the blue ocean, each of these oceans equally occupying half of the sphere that the world was and possessing their own landmasses.
The red ocean was commonly known as hell brought to the world, a place that the WFA thankfully kept in check, while the blue ocean was humanity's home.
On the blue ocean, there were 6 continents, one continent standing in the middle and the other 5 placed around it.
This one single continent which stood in the center of the blue ocean was referred to and called the central continent.
After several travels, the central continent was determined to be the shape of a star, a very rough one at that as all of its 5 points had very questionable edges.
The central continent though a least desirable place to live in, was still a buzzing hub of human life and it was in one of the towns on this continent that Kruxe opened his eyes.
…..
His eyes heavy, Kruxe blinked them open and showered his eyeballs with light which he had deprived them of for quite some time, and unlike most unfortunate souls who blinked their eyes to blazing rays of light, Kruxe blinked his to rather dimly lighted surroundings.
There was no Sun to blind out his eyes, and as his sight gradually adjusted to his surroundings, he found himself under a roof, gazing at what should be a brown ceiling, and when he moved his eyes to the side, what he could see were blue walls.
Silently, Kruxe turned his head left, his actions enabling his eyes to take in the sight of several rows of beds lying adjacent to his, and when he turned right he saw the same thing.
"Urgghhh" Kruxe groaned as he finally decided to push himself up some seconds later.
Sharp pain streaked across his body due to his actions but Kruxe ignored them as memories of what had happened the last time he was awake rushed into his head, and with them, he felt restless and couldn't lie on the bed.
Kruxe's hands ached and trembled but he pushed through it, pushing himself to a sitting position and then freezing when his eyes were greeted by a blue pair of smaller but brighter eyes.
"ahhh" the other pair of bright eyes exclaimed as it took its little body and jumped down from the bed Kruxe was, moving its short legs as fast as possible and carrying its little frame to the right side of the room and out the door that stood at its end.
Kruxe silently watched all of this, finding the little girl's actions amusing, but this little feeling of cheerfulness failed to reach his blank face and desolate eyes.
Looking away from the door the girl had left through, Kruxe's eyes moved throughout the room, noticing that opposite him was another row of beds.
On Kruxe's side of the room and the other side, there were rows of beds, all of them empty if he was seeing correctly.
Listening quietly, cricket crying out was the only sound he could hear, this fact pushing Kruxe to try looking out of the window, but unfortunately, they were all closed, their wooden nature not giving him any hint of what lay beyond.
Kruxe was about to consider following the little girl's path and leaving the room, but then he saw the double door to his left sway on its own a little, and with this movement, a cold wind filtered in through the door's gap.
"A balcony perhaps," Kruxe thought and began wiggling his legs underneath the thick blanket that covered them.
When Kruxe was done revitalising his legs, he swung them off the bed with a bit of suddenness, a loud groan leaving his mouth, but other than that he was alright.
Though he let out a few low groans, Kruxe successfully pushed himself off the bed and got to his feet.
Kruxe stretched his feet a little and then began stumbling his way to the double doors.
As he moved, Kruxe looked to the other beds in the room, wanting to properly check them out, but the lightning provided by the three lanterns that hung on the walls did a poor job of illuminating them.
"Hospital, clinic, or some health building, I should be in one of them," Kruxe thought as he easily abandoned his curiosity about the beds.
At first, he had been nearly stumbling, but as he reached the double door, his legs lost their uncertainty, and while they were still a little stiff, Kruxe had no fear of then suddenly giving out and sending him crashing to the floor.
On reaching the d door, he easily pushed it open, moving forward and presenting himself before a world of dark and bright.
Kruxe found his guess of a balcony to be right, while also noticing the glaring fact that it was night, one which the moon didn't particularly see fit to bless.
Kruxe moved to the end of the balcony and stared down, and then turned and looked up, taking note that he was on a single-story building, and as he observed his surroundings, he noticed how far the several lighted buildings around went, immediately realizing that he was in a town.
"Perhaps I never should have left the land, we never should have left land," Kruxe thought the emotions he had been suppressing threatening to bubble up.
As his emotions burst out, Kruxe was suddenly hit with a bout of cold wind, one which was familiar, and as if mocking his grief, he heard a loud wave splash.
Slowly, Kruxe looked to his left, and there in the distance, though not clear, he could barely make out what was undeniably the sea.
Though it remained relatively silent, the sea breeze that blew at Kruxe felt like a loud mockery, rapidly wearing down Kruxe's mental defences pulling him to the depth of despair.
