"Kruxe."
"Kruxe"
Kruxe could hear Liara call his name, her eyes no doubt looking to find him, but he had already dashed to the right of the room, a spot that lacked a lantern nearby and was relatively drowned in darkness.
From his position, Kruxe could make out Liara standing and looking around for him, her pause casing a little commotion as she obstructed movements, and in no time, the woman had to move along, having both herself and her child to worry about.
"Luckily Lia didn't see me," Kruxe thought knowing the cheeky girl would have sold him out immediately.
With the few people left behind either moving to go to the bunker or in a rush to head somewhere, Kruxe seamlessly merged into the chaos and began looking for an exit.
Having completely no idea of the clinic's layout, Kruxe decided to move in the opposite direction of the huge double doors.
All it took was a few steps and he soon found two persons rapidly rushing into the room, heading for the huge doors behind him, and with relief, Kruxe knew where he was going.
"Hey you, where are you going…. "
"It's dangerous out there…."
Two different voices that belonged to the two individuals that entered sounded from behind, but Kruxe ignored the voices and dashed out of the door the two individuals had just come through, soon finding himself in another room, and from there, he followed the loud noises he could hear and soon ran into another room.
Here Kruxe found the door which led out of the clinic, but he couldn't help but curse as he saw it.
"Ahhh, how could I forget about guards?"
In front of Kruxe stood what should be the entrance to the clinic, it was metallic, and though Kruxe could hear loud shouts coming from outside it, the doors closed and guarded nature telling him that he wasn't going to have an easy time leaving through it.
"Kid what are you doing here," One of the two guards dressed in flappy black uniform asked.
The guard were both rather lanky and looked to be in their forties. Kruxe thought to knock them out and go about opening the door, but he remembered Liara's strength which made him look like a 10 year old, and quickly abandoned the idea of conflict.
Thinking on his feet, Kruxe decided that engaging the two guards was too much of a risk and so without a word rushed out of the room, a new possible route of exit in mind.
Whether or not the guards were following him Kruxe didn't know nor care as he madly dashed back through the rooms he had come through, and a few minutes later was ascending a staircase and was soon in front of a window.
This was the exact window through which Kruxe had seen the familiar flag, and though there were still explosions sounding out in the distance, none were huge enough to provide the illumination that had set Kruxe on his current path.
Whatever the two shots Liara had given Kruxe were, they had him pumped up, almost nearly jumping out the window, but he held himself back, first surveying the area below, and then he went out the window and climbed down the clinic's walls.
Within a few seconds, Kruxe's hand left the clinic building and he was now standing in the midst of some shrubs.
Kruxe looked all around him, his heartbeat increasing, and then facing the direction he had seen the flag he charged forward.
Moving out of the shrubs, Kruxe quickly came into an almost empty courtyard which was populated only by the few people banging on the door in the distance probably seeking entry into the clinic.
Kruxe ignored them and charged forth, soon approaching a fence, and with a simple climb and pull he sent himself soaring over it.
Now out of the clinic and its premises, Kruxe's eyes were greeted with the sight of another level of chaos.
All around, Kruxe could see people running and screaming, everyone in a panic and rush, and then with a deep breath, Kruxe joined the chaos.
…..
Like he was in a different world, Kruxe went skittering past buildings, navigating his way through the alleys and noisy roads, sometimes hitting dead ends and having to retrace his steps.
Kruxe felt detached from everything around him, he was in a world of his own as he moved, his mind and the overflowing energy within him all having one goal, to navigate through the dark night and reach the harbor.
Minutes went by and soon Kruxe could hear the sound of the sea, this new development spurring him on.
This close to the sea, the area was completely deserted, leaving Kruxe having only the echoing sound of his footsteps to accompany him.
Perhaps if Kruxe's mind hadn't narrowed, he would have questioned the silence and lack of fighting or burning buildings in his surroundings but alas he wasn't perfect and at the moment, was lost in in his emotions.
With it being a town, they didn't have a large fancy port, only possessing a seaside and a local dock.
Moving within an alley, Kruxe moved a little closer, and soon he could actually see the ship, the cannon by its side occasionally letting out shots, but that didn't attract him as he instead kept looking up at the ship's main mast and soon, there were three cannon shot from the ship, this just barely being enough to light up most of the ship, bringing the image of its flag in sight.
Without change, a red flag carrying a skull that had a bone hanging out of each of its eyes came into view.
Having seen it once more, and still being familiar with ship size and a bit of its hull shape, Kruxe could now confidently say that he was staring at the same ship responsible for the drowning of the Breezing Ania, but that now left him with a very important question.
"What do I do?"
