Derek slowly followed Adele's calculated steps as they made their way back to the conference room, asking a question or two along the way.
They arrived just in time when Nicholas and Sebastian were being served drinks.
"Oh, there he comes!" Nick exclaimed with a broad smile.
Derek just responded with a smile and turned back to Adele who seemed a bit hesitant to go in with him, not because she was scared or shy, but because she thought to leave the friends to catch up on their lives since the Hastings had left.
She still didn't know if Sebastian was just pretending to, or really did not recognize her as Angelica's cousin.
Turning around after a few steps, she heard Derek's voice. "Have a lovely day, Adele."
Adele turned to him, trying as much as she could to stop the rush of heat to her face, but that damn smile on his face, she couldn't help being flustered. Why did he have to be so annoyed?! She wanted to cuss.
