It was the sound one of Titania's native birds made, singing in the morning like music, and waking Dont up in the process.
The Demon Queen yawned, not out of biological necessity, but out of reflex as a former human.
She scratched her head as she stretched, and looked around.
Right. She slept in Black Abyss's room.
She didn't wonder why she was naked, for the reason was obvious. What happened last night didn't require clothing.
She smiled warmly at the memory, noticing that Black Abyss had gotten up earlier.
She chuckled, and equipped her usual clothes as she got out of bed.
She wanted a coffee~
She didn't need to go through the boring routine of brushing her teeth, fixing her hair, or anything like that, for she was always impeccable. Her hair was soft and silky as always~ Her breath as wonderful and clean as always~ Her body as damn sexy as ever~ But she was going to take a bath. She still had to wash off the dried fluid mixture on her body.
She wasn't a recurring guest to Black Abyss's room, so it took her a while to find the bathroom, but once she did, she dropped into the warm water of one of the always-on bubble baths.
"Ha~ It's so great not to have to worry about water~" Dont sighed in relief. After all, Titania's water was literally endless and clean.
It was created by unknown magical means, so Titania's waterfalls, lakes, rivers, and baths were never empty, and somehow, it never overflowed anywhere. Not in the lakes that always had loads of water falling on them, nor in the baths despite them being constantly refilled.
It didn't even overflow if something big got in.
Dont had proven this when, in her 'Komodo Demon' form, she had stepped into one of her baths in the past.
This was something no one could even dream of on Earth, where even milliliters of clean water were incredibly expensive and valuable, and baths were almost entirely made of disinfectant gases and such.
They were also self-sustaining. Between Titania's crops in the Seelie Forest, the Mystic Lake, the Draconic Court Garden, the Fairy Village, and the surrounding areas of Titania, they had endless fruits and vegetables, without needing to worry about desertification or deforestation by having loads of Druids.
With the livestock in Titania's dungeons, also named humans and Demi-Humans, and the more animalistic livestock around and within Titania, meat and things like dairy were no problem either.
And even without that, they had the Cauldron of the Daghdha. Sure, it was preferable to have resources on their own than having to spend Yggdrasil coins to get food out of there.
Dont sighed at the thought, but luckily, they now had Deorum Regnum to produce resources as well. And if they won the war, they could very well add E-Rantel and Carne to the equation, and maybe a little more~ Who knows~
The Demon practically purred as she relaxed in the water… Remembering the events of last night… She blushed with a smile, and relaxed in the bath with a cheerful giggle.
It took her several minutes before she emerged from the bubbling water, stepping out to dry herself off with a dry, white towel. And with her superior sense of smell to the animal, she could smell the beautiful scent of coffee. Just like freshly baked dough~...
In an instant she equipped her clothes and headed towards the bathroom exit, returning to Black Abyss's room, where she could see on a small table, a large cup of coffee along with freshly made medialunas (Croissant-like but from South America).
A small white note written in gold ink said 'Have a good breakfast~ I went out to Carne, I will invite Enri, Nfirea, Nemu and Kalos to Deorum Regnum. I didn't want to bother you while you were showering, so I leave this here~
-With love~ BAWF'.
Dont looked at the note in complete silence. She couldn't help but squeal tenderly as she covered her mouth and put the note away in her inventory…
She definitely made the best decision of her life…
The thought was very pleasant and happy as she sat down on the chair, and began to slowly and diligently eat the breakfast that her… Beloved made for her~
…
Riding a white steed, a Golem in reality, Black Abyss traveled to Carne Village. She had a white hood on her Titania outfit, a more formal one that she started wearing after the 'destruction' of her team by the Komodo Demon roleplays…
Well, after all, she was now a very well-known figure in the area, and accused of treason as well… So she didn't know how people would react to seeing her.
Although wearing so much white, on a white steed, and being as white as marble… Hardly anyone wouldn't recognize her…
She didn't seem very focused on it anyway.
After all… Last night had been a special night, very special…
She didn't know exactly when she started to feel that way about her but… It was something that was nurtured over time, as much as Dont made big mistakes over and over again, she felt bad if she got angry with her…
If she scolded her, she felt guilty… She preferred to praise her, even though sometimes it wasn't necessary, but she liked how she smiled proudly when she did.
And… When that day she told her that she loved her… That was when she understood what those feelings were that she had, as if she had suddenly understood everything she was going through, and instantly everything was clear to her.
Beyond that, after Dont declared her love, she lost all nervousness towards her, because nothing else could explain why she could invite her to her room that night without dying of shame…
When the night came… She could certainly notice that she was more nervous, but it was for nothing else but the thought that she was going to lose her virginity, and with someone she loved…
Still… She couldn't help but doubt… She wanted to know more about what Dont thought of her, because… If she had done that for some other reason than love, and she was actually getting excited and hopeful about something that wasn't there… She could have irreparable damage in her heart… That perhaps couldn't heal…
Still, she chose to believe that her love was really reciprocated, because… There was no happier moment for her than the night before. She really smiled with total joy, absolute happiness, and it was something she wanted to share with Dont.
And it was something she still felt, that filled her soul and her heart. Much more knowing that it was real having woken up with Dont hugging her in bed, it was very nice to see her sleeping like that, it seemed as if she believed she was a pillow~
Black Abyss laughed remembering it, but…
She sighed looking around… It was a world that was mostly unknown, and by the Lord Dragon of Darkness, she knew that there were level 100 entities in this world… And that one day they were going to find them…
She thought about directly asking Dont to never leave Titania to protect her, but she didn't want to take away something as precious as freedom… Simply…
She couldn't imagine many ways to keep her safe in such an unknown world, and that was so hostile against creatures like Dont… And just as she had told her, if this whole world hated her, she would still love her… But… What if the whole world attacked her…? Of course, she would be her shield, keeping her safe from anything…
But… The idea of keeping her in such danger… It irritated her, maybe it was just better to eliminate the dangers before they threatened what she loved, but she couldn't start an inquisition towards the whole world for something like that…
She almost laughed at the irony of Black Abyss wishing for a worldwide purge when she was the one who had reproached Dont for that kind of thoughts in the past.
The Demon would surely be excited about it, but it wasn't the right thing to do. First she had to know who was against them and who wasn't. And from what she could deduce, the Dragon Lords were from the first group…
So, if she were to find another one… This time she would annihilate it from the face of the planet… Even if it cost her her lif-... No, she had to do it without dying. The Paladin knew that, if she died, she would make Dont sad… And that wasn't an option. Not anymore.
But… She was definitely willing to take down anything that threatened Dont… The person she loved… Even if that threat was Black Abyss itself…
She looked ahead as she saw more colors than natural, looking at the wall with balloons on it… There was Carne, a little more… Festive than before…
Her horse walked to the gate for a few minutes, stopping in front of the large log door. And letting go of the reins, she clapped her hands a few times.
At the claps, a trio of people poked their heads out from the walls. After identifying Black Abyss, the human appearances became disfigured and became purely Demonic.
One of the Demons let out a laugh and a few words to someone below, and the door of the wall opened for Black Abyss.
She took the reins and made the Steed walk forward, passing the wooden wall and thus entering Carne Village. She looked at the Demons coming down from the wall, and the door closing behind her, waiting for someone to greet her.
"Greetings, Ti-Ta-Ni-A!" The three Demons let out in unison, before laughing… They had increased in level and race, but they were still basically clowns…
"… Greetings. Demons. Or should I say Devils now?" Titania asked towards these three.
"Ha~" "Ha~" "Ha~!" The Devils laughed one by one, before positioning themselves next to each other.
They were actually identical, only they had different colored clothes.
"I'm Ping~" The one in red said.
"I'm Pong~" The one in blue said.
"I'm Juan~" The one in yellow said.
"… Hello Ping, Pong and Juan… I'm Titania, although you know… Nice to meet you…" She greeted with a droplet falling from her forehead. "Do you know where I can find Enri?" She asked towards the trio.
"Of course~" "Just~" "Follow~" "The~" "Yellow~" "Path~" The Devils said, complementing each other in their sentence perfectly… Wah…
Titania released a droplet, as she saw that the floor was made of yellow tiles, leading to a relatively large house, with a circus tent next to it, and on a small hill.
With her steed she headed towards the house, while the townspeople looked at her excitedly, as if seeing a heroine. Well, she had saved them a while ago, so they surely had a pretty high respect for her and Nyx, the name Dont used for her trips outside of Titania as a relic merchant.
In fact… There was a statue of Titania and Nyx in the center of the town… Made of bronze, and it seemed like there was a third pillar to put 'Arthur' in…
She found it interesting how they were seeing them as pillars of their lives, since the looks directed towards her were of great adoration.
Although… She stopped looking forward, seeing the red creature coming out of the tent on the side of the house, approaching her.
"Ah~ But just look~ Oh, the famous, glorious, divine and graceful Titania~ The Heroine of this town~" The tall Demon smiled from ear to ear as he spread his arms out to his sides, amazed.
Titania knew him, having seen him several times, and read reports and such. He was the leader of the Troop. The strongest of Carne, Kalos.
"Kalos. Not at all. A hero is someone like you, who eliminated an army of 10,000 men to protect his home." Black Abyss, Titania, said towards Kalos.
"Jaja~ Oh, my lady~ I wonder~ How do you know that~? And even then, I know that I am no match for your magnificence either, nor would my lady allow me to even attack you~ Therefore, I beg you not to say it so loud~ There is an audience~ But there are things that are better left under the curtain~" Kalos said, without a hint of nervousness, just accepting the facts.
"It's fine, I understand. I just want you to know that, if you hadn't done it, I would have done it the next day." She muttered towards the Devil Leader, raising a thumb towards him. "After all, I never stopped protecting them in my own way."
The Alptraum, Kalos, was silent for a moment, before grabbing his top hat, and bowing.
"Hats off to you, Miss Titania~ I truly appreciate the care you have taken of my lady and her people~ I understand that you are powerful, so I will not question you with foolish questions~ Just know that you have my respect and gratitude~ Ahaha~" Kalos let out a magnificent smile, before standing up straight again, with a bright, somewhat cloudy smile.
Black Abyss nodded to him, then dismounted from her white horse, approaching the door of the great house and knocking three times.
The Angel heard some noise thanks to her superior senses. She raised an eyebrow, and checked her summons.
She always had a Blessed of Nazareth with Enri just in case something happened, a level 50 Angel, so seeing the summon inside the house ruled out the possibility that it wasn't Enri.
After a few moments, someone opened the door.
It was the Village Chief, Enri Emott. Although she was a bit sweaty and blushing, as well as her clothes were a bit disheveled. And from the smell… And seeing Nfirea behind her more or less in the same state, the Angel could imagine what the commotion was~
She smiled amusedly, while Enri was just left in shock.
"L-LADY TITANIA!? A-Ah! M-My apologies for the mess! W-We should have prepared a p-proper welcome…! N-No… O-Of course. Y-You… I-Is it safe for you to come here, Lady Titania?" Enri stuttered and stumbled over her words upon seeing her savior completely unexpectedly, but still looking concerned for her in the end. After all, not long ago, they had the Re-Estize army at their door demanding for some connection between Carne and the Paladin.
The adventurer Titania was a traitor to the Kingdom after all.
"You could say there is a price on my head, high enough to live your whole life without problems. But it's easier to cut a mountain than to cut my neck~ And don't worry, my visit is a surprise, you don't have to prepare anything~…" She said with a wide smile, letting go of the situation she had clearly interrupted.
Enri blushed a little considering what she had been doing, and stumbled in her thoughts.
"A-Ah! M-My apologies, c-come in~ Make yourself at home~" The blonde blurted out somewhat nervously, opening the door and stepping aside, inviting Titania in.
"Thank you~" The Angel said, entering the place, looking around.
Considering the average standard of living in Re-Estize, it was a good house for a border town, so far from the capital. She could think that this improvement in quality of life was due to the work of Kalos and the other Devils since they were summoned, so she was grateful for it.
"Hello Nfirea~" She greeted the other boy present, lowering the white hood that covered most of her face.
"G-Greetings, Lady Titania." Nfirea smiled, having calmed down a bit from the shock of hearing Enri yell about Titania.
The boy was clearly showing a case of 'blue balls', and Black Abyss felt a bit of guilt. It was minimal, not that the horny teenage duo couldn't continue afterwards.
Also, she didn't want to take too long, she wanted to return to Titania, her home, so she could spend some time with that adorable ball of evil that she loved so much~
However, aside from that, Nfirea also showed an almost adoring look behind her bangs.
Black Abyss smiled widely, before Enri approached from the side, pointing to the large table in the middle of the room.
"P-Please sit down, make yourself comfortable~"
Black Abyss nodded, walking over to the table and sitting down on one of the side chairs. She noticed how Enri was a bit nervous, perhaps she expected her to sit at the end, but being the Leader of the Village now, that was her place.
Therefore, she sat at the end of the table, while Nfirea sat on the other side.
"I don't want to take up too much of your time~ You'll know that I have a certain… Sense of protection for your village, both myself and Lady Nyx~ That's why I came to offer you one thing~ Just keep in mind that if you fully accept, you might be declared traitors by Re-Estize." The Adamantite-class adventurer explained mainly towards Enri, but also giving Nfirea a glance. She didn't say it as if it were a joke either. She said it with complete seriousness.
Enri blinked, and looked at Titania, in a mix of fear, anxiety, but a lot of doubt.
The girl remained like that for a while… Accepting implied that Titania herself and Lady Nyx, powerful women who saved the village, would help them, and would surely offer them protection according to what Titania said… But it also meant that all of Re-Estize would be against them…
Enri grimaced, and looked at the Paladin. "… W-What kind of offer, my lady?"
Black Abyss smiled, tapping the table with her finger.
"Carne is located on the border of Re-Estize and Deorum Regnum, although it is officially Re-Estize~ But I want to offer you to become part of Deorum Regnum~" She indicated to the Village Leader, who was somewhat nervous at this. "I know you will want more information about what that entails, and what you would gain from it, that is why I invite you two, Enri, Nfirea, as well as little Nemu and Kalos, to visit the Marble Palace, capital of Deorum Regnum, to discuss everything~"
Enri blinked, her eyes wide.
Meanwhile, Nfirea was somewhat confused. After all, the alchemist did not receive a visit from Titania and an explanation from 'Deorum Regnum' that could not be told to anyone else.
In fact, the Chief of Carne was… Very nervous. Right now, she had in her power to make an incredibly difficult decision. A decision that could easily doom her entire village because of Re-Estize… Because of Enri…
However… It was Titania who was offering it. The savior of Carne alongside Lady Nyx, Lord Arthur, and the Infernal Protector. Those who protected the village when Re-Estize would not even look at them unless it was for taxes…
She… Was doubtful… But…
Enri looked at her own hands. She remembered Prince Barbro… The tax collectors, the Baharuth knights who invaded Carne… Her father and mother… She… She just… She couldn't trust Re-Estize anymore… Much less with Kalos and the other Imps here… It just… It wasn't possible…
Instead… She was going to trust Titania. She… She was the true definition of good and justice… She never treated Imps with disgust, there was never a need to hide them. It was Lady Nyx who gave Enri the trumpet that summoned Kalos… Thus, looking at Titania, Enri frowned determinedly, and looked at Titania.
"W-Well… I-I think I accept… O-Only if… N-Nfirea accepts, of course…" Enri looked at her partner.
He looked nervous, because now he was the one who had all the weight of the decision that Nfirea didn't even fully understand... But, then again, they were talking about Titania... If Titania was part of this 'Deorum Regnum'... Then they can't be worse than Re-Estize. No. They will definitely be much better. Titania wouldn't offer it up for no reason, and Nfirea owed the Paladin a lot beyond the pure respect and gratitude he had for her.
His life, his grandmother's life, the lives of all the good people of E-Rantel, the life of his beloved, and his current happiness, in this town saved by the same Paladin... All of that was thanks to Titania.
So, with a smile, he nodded. "Yes. It's fine by me."
He looked at Enri, and she smiled affectionately at him. However, a memory of something important, which he hadn't been able to tell Titania the last time, suddenly came to him.
"A-Ah! R-Right! L-Lady Titania, please wait for me! I-I'll go get you something!" The boy stuttered nervously and hurriedly as he stood up from his chair, running towards one of the rooms.
"Ok…?" The adventurer said with a raised eyebrow, looking at Enri, who smiled nervously with a droplet falling from her forehead.
Black Abyss also looked at the level 50 Angel hidden at the side, and it didn't move at all… Making the Paladin want to sigh.
After a few moments, Nfirea returned with a pair of small vials in his hands.
The first vial contained a deep blue liquid, and the second contained a watery purple liquid.
"L-Lady Nyx came here a long time ago… A-And she granted me some rare and valuable resources, while asking me if I could… Create potions better than normal ones…" Nfirea said somewhat nervously, scratching the back of his neck and sweating a little. "I haven't had a way to contact her since then, and the last time you came, I wasn't available… I-I… I-I made these potions thanks to my and my grandmother's efforts, as well as Enri's, er… Summonings…" She finished, with a slight nervous smile. She really seemed expectant for Titania's answer.
She took one of the vials and looked at it carefully. "The color is certainly different from the usual blue options… Do you know the effects?" She asked curiously.
"Y-Yes! T-The dark blue potion is… A potion that restores Mana."
At Nfirea's words, Black Abyss opened his eyes wide.
In Yggdrasil, Mana potions were a legend, since they existed in its betas. However, they were removed due to how unfair the combat system became between a Warrior and a Mage, as the Mage could simply take cover behind a tank, summons, or defenses, and restore all of his Mana in the meantime, being able to use powerful spells again despite the Warrior's effort.
Because of this, there were practically no external ways to recover Mana besides certain equipment, rare items, classes, or skills, or well, the classic way, which was to wait for Mana to recover naturally.
Therefore, a Mana potion was something… Unheard of.
It would have to be seen how much Mana they recovered… But this… Could be the first step towards something incredible that will take a big step towards Titania's power development.
"A-And the second one?" She asked with a smile, looking very cute because of how curious and excited she was about the potions.
Nfirea seemed to come out of a trance, and looked somewhat excited at Titania. It was clear that the boy was dedicated to alchemy because of how excited he was, and he was even more excited because of the fact that the Paladin herself was impressed and shocked.
"Y-Yes! The second potion is an improved version of the typical healing potion! According to my calculations, it is 68% more efficient and powerful, as well as fast. It's still… Far from competing with one of your red potions… But… I think it's a huge advancement." He smiled.
68%… That was a huge increase in the potion's efficiency… It was like going from using simple bandages, to discovering penicillin… It was an unprecedented improvement that surely hadn't happened in the history of this world.
But… The Mana recovery potion took the main spotlight… Although if Nfirea became able to discover the formula to create low-level potions from Yggdrasil…
It was certainly something he couldn't let pass. She had to, no, she had to make them part of Deorum Regnum.
"This… It's incredible, Nfirea~ It's splendid~ Would you mind if I kept them~? They would be very useful to me~" She asked with a smile, seeing the young man's quick impression. "S-Sure, I won't take them if you don't want me to… And if not, I can pay you~ Money, or materials~" Black Abyss said, reaching under her clothes, pretending to be searching for something, then taking out a red potion.
Nfirea, however, blushed slightly as he waved his hands back and forth slightly.
"T-There's no need for that much, Lady Titania! J-Just being useful to you is enough for me…" He smiled somewhat shyly at her words, and at Enri's smile. "H-However… I would like to speak to Lady Nyx regarding this potion… After all, she was the one who gave me the materials, and the one who made the potion for in the first place due to her request… Y-You can take them to her if you want. I-I have no problem with that. T-They're still in the testing phase, and I have all the notes in my lab, so I can make more as long as I have the materials." The boy explained, relaxing a bit.
Black Abyss smiled widely and brightly, causing both of those present to blush at the sight of her. After all, the Paladin couldn't be anything but joyful and satisfied.
"That's fabulous~ I would appreciate it if you could create more of these Mana potions~ Although I rely on my physical power, I'm still a third-level magic user, like Alicia, so this would be very useful~" The Paladin explained, then putting away such potions under her clothes, or well, actually in her inventory. "And yes~ Tomorrow will be the meeting, I'll come pick you up tomorrow at 2 o'clock and take you to Deorum Regnum~ We can talk more about it regarding the potions and the benefits for Carne~" The adventurer completed, and although she had put away the potions, she left the red one on the table.
"Y-Yes!" Nfirea nodded fervently, excited.
"W-We'll make sure to look as presentable as possible, Lady Titania!" Enri said, standing up from her seat and looking determinedly at the Paladin.
"Wonderful~ And make sure you're hungry~ The castle's food is really good~" She added, laughing cutely, before standing up and putting on her hood.
Nfirea looked at her and then looked at the red potion.
"U-Uhm. T-Titania, you're forgetting this…" He said somewhat doubtfully, seeing that the potion was right in front of the adventurer, so he didn't think someone as powerful and intelligent as her would forget something so valuable…
"Consider it part of the benefits of being part of Deorum Regnum~ And a reward for the potions you made~" The Angel said with a correspondingly angelic smile. She almost seemed to really glow. "And I won't take 'no' for an answer~" She joked.
Nfirea opened her mouth and closed it like a fish, but gave in, and smiled.
"… S-Sure… T-Thank you very much… For everything, Lady Titania…" The alchemist smiled full of gratitude and almost adoration towards the Paladin.
The Paladin nodded with an equally grateful smile, having obtained something she never thought she would have, a mana restoration potion. Something really impressive.
"I won't take up any more of your time~ I'll leave you two to get on with what you were doing~" She said, hiding her smile with one hand and giving a mischievous wink.
The duo blushed all the way to their ears, practically fuming, while Titania chuckled, leaving the house.
…
Dont hummed as she checked Titania's defenses, Bachelory at her side.
Everything was perfect, and thanks to Bachelory and Cecilion, the Cauldron of the Daghda use of Yggdrasil coins was countered quite well.
After all, the duo possessed an interesting class that allowed them to generate coins over time. It was a negligible amount, which wouldn't be enough to afford using fully active defenses and effects on all of Titania for a few weeks, but it was a decent amount that helped them grow in Titania's 'economy'.
Traps were also being refined, others were added 'independently' thanks to Bachelory, Superbia, Maria, Juliana, and SatinMan.
And considering that the interspecies breeding experiments weren't giving results at the moment, but were compensated by the successful breeding of Wyverns, Dragons, and variants under the care of Dont's NPC, Brynhildr, and other beasts under the care of the Harpy Sisters, Titania was slowly but surely gaining new and good strength. Of course, it would take time from having a newborn Wyvern to one of level 50 at least, but oh well. They had time.
"Umu~ Alright~ That'll be all for today, Bachelory~ What's next~?" Dont asked her NPC with a satisfied smile.
The Doppelgänger nodded reverently, and took out a notebook from his inventory.
"Reinstating the 'camouflage' around Titania, my Queen." Bachelory said, his tone so elegant and worthy of a noble~
The Queen of Titania hummed, ready to rise from the throne and meet SatinMan outside Titania to chat about it.
Still, she looked with a raised eyebrow at the [Gate] that opened about two meters from her, although no one came out…
It closed and she could see the white figure known as 'Titania', in the new world, with her back to her, looking to her sides as if she was looking for something.
Dont froze, and blushed slightly, although the intensity of the blush increased gently with each second as she admired the view.
"B-Black Abyss~" She did a mix of 'greeting' and simply mentioning to herself that she was not seeing wrong, and it was… Her Angel.
Although she turned around upon hearing her name, smiling angelically upon seeing her. "Hello Dont~ I was looking for you~"
"U-Umu~ I-I'm glad~" The Demon Queen looked to the side, somewhat happy as she smiled as if touched. Bachelory noticed it… But he remained silent. Quite… Relaxed and almost cheerful. "E-Ejem. You went to Carne, right? How is it?" Regaining her composure, Queen Titania asked in a majestic… And somewhat affectionate tone.
"Wonderful~ You won't believe what I have~" She tenderly said as she rummaged through her clothes, looking very excited and joyful, taking out a dark blue vial.
Dont blinked, and tilted her head to the side, very curious. Bachelory was also somewhat curious, but confident in the Supremes' wisdom after all, and thus, waiting silently.
"Umu? And that?"
"Well if Nfirea was right, it's possible that this is… A Mana Recovery Potion~!" She said with a slight excited squeal.
Dont blinked, and blinked again.
"A-A mana potion…? B-But… Umu…" Dont grabbed her chin and frowned, and then an interested smile decorated her beautiful face. "Bachelory, investigate that item, tell us the details." She said towards the Doppelgänger.
"Aye, my Queen." The Prime Minister bowed, and walked towards Black Abyss.
Once he arrived in front of her, he bowed, and placed his hands as if waiting for the Paladin to give him the potion.
Black Abyss did so, and the Doppelgänger immediately used the spell.
"[All Appraisal Magic Item]" At the spell, a faint magic circle appeared in front of the Doppelgänger's hand for an instant, as he pointed towards the bottle. "Hm... Indeed, my ladies, this is a Mana Potion. However, its potency is modest, replenishing only the expenditure of an average tier 2 spell. The potion's restorative capacity can be significantly enhanced by the quantity of Mana imbued during its creation. Therefore, with meticulous timing and the appropriate materials, it could be possible to achieve a complete restoration of my Mana reserves." The Doppelgänger explained after using the spell, and returned the bottle to Black Abyss with great care.
She looked at Dont with an excited smile. "Isn't it great~?" She asked with a ':D' face. "These kinds of potions were banned from Yggdrasil for being too broken for magic casters since the beta~ If we can create more of them and power them up, Titania's magic casters would have a very large increase in their capabilities~"
Dont looked at Black Abyss, and smiled as she always did.
"Indeed~ We could have Nfirea become our alchemist 'scientist', giving him a high position in Deorum Regnum, where he and Titania's alchemists could develop new potions and get to the point of being able to recreate Yggdrasil potions without needing to spend our resources~ As well as, with these Mana potions, we can have our alchemists mass produce them in two ways. Those for public consumption, which could contain the Mana of around a level 1 to 3 spell. And for Titania's private consumption, having high amounts of Mana that could easily recover that of our people's Mana~ That way, even Superbia could summon 2 times or more what she can normally summon outside of her daily summons~" The Demon Queen nodded, quite excited and happy with the result of Nfirea's research.
This was an unprecedented discovery and of incredible importance.
Titania would benefit greatly from this, and even the people of Deorum Regnum would do so.
And even if their enemies managed to get their hands on the Mana potions, they would need to have someone capable of casting [All Appraisal Magic Item], and have alchemist or potion-making capabilities, as well as a lot of Mana and the bare minimum of having the resources and knowledge to recreate the potion. And even if they stocked up on the entire stock of public consumption potions, it would only be a small amount of Mana per bottle, forcing them to spend valuable time gulping down potion by potion to recover at least a decent amount of Mana~ While Titania's units would only need to take a drop of a potion to surpass the total of the stolen potions~
The possibilities really excited the Demon Queen, as even Dont could abuse her magical abilities, though they were few, without much trouble now.
"Ah~ And there's another one~" The Paladin said, searching under her clothes again until she pulled out a bottle with a slightly purple liquid in it. "Nfirea managed to improve this world's healing potion~ He said that its effect was 68% stronger than the blue one, that is, the one that was believed to be the only type of healing potion in this world~" She explained, handing the vial to Bachelory.
He used the spell on the bottle again.
"What Lady Black Abyss asserts is indeed correct, and there is little more to elaborate upon." The Doppelgänger explained with a nod and a bow, returning the bottle.
Dont hummed happily, again. After all, this was a great discovery. A great basis for the improvement in the forces of all of Titania, not just Dont and Black Abyss. Because the guild was no longer just the two of them. They were all NPCs, and even the little Fairies~
"Umu~ Good~ That potion was made with a mix of resources from Titania and the New World, so for now, I would like if this Nfirea could replicate the potion with resources from this world only. That way we can replicate it massively, and distribute it across the kingdom and sell it to other countries without any problems. After all, we have Yggdrasil's potions, which are still better even at their lower potencies~ So it won't hurt if any enemy gains access to them~"
"Umu~ His discoveries were very good, so I gave him a low-level potion from Yggdrasil~" Black Abyss added.
Dont nodded in approval. "Good~ I must say that even that seems little to me for such discoveries, but we will reward them appropriately tomorrow~" The Demonic Girl let out as she leaned back on the throne, quite happy with the progress the Nfirea boy made.
He was a Human, yes, one originally from this world, too… But he was useful, and loyal, which even greatly improved the Demon Queen's opinion of the boy, and she saw him as a good investment.
She even considered using the discoveries about the race change projects to turn the boy, and maybe Enri and perhaps the boy's grandmother and the sister of the leader of the Imps, or now Devils, into long-lived or immortal races before time, in such a way that it would strengthen them, and allow them to serve Titania for longer or indefinitely~ Although that remained to be seen.
"Umu~ I am very happy with this discovery~ That Nfirea boy proved to be a useful and valuable servant~ In fact, Bachelory, I want to arrange later to send a couple of high-level hidden forces to protect Carne, especially the quartet of the Bareare family and Emmot. I received the report on the Imps' levels, now at a decent level for this world, so I doubt it will be necessary to use such forces one day, but settling is stupid when you can be cautious~" Dont nodded as she ordered the Doppelgänger.
"Of course, my Queen. Such particulars may be deliberated upon following your meeting with the humans and the Demon at the Marble Palace." The Doppelgänger bowed to Dont, as he waited for a response. Sure, if she ordered it, they would talk about it here and now, Bachelory's thing was just a suggestion.
"Good~" Dont nodded, and Bachelory began to write down in his notebook with satisfaction and elegance.
Black Abyss then looked at Dont, with a look… Very affectionate~ As if she had missed her and hadn't seen her for months, even though it was only a few hours.
"How are you feeling~? Are you having a good day~?" She asked her with affection in her voice, very gentle.
"A-Ah~ Yes~ I am quite happy today~" Dont smiled back at the Paladin, blushing slightly.
Bachelory seemed to understand something, and coughed into his fist politely.
"Ejem. If that is all, my Queen, I shall await you at the location of your meeting with SatinMan." The Prime Minister excused himself. He almost seemed to blush for some reason, although it was impossible due to him being a Doppelgänger, and wearing a mask.
Dont nodded at her creation, and he bowed, before heading to the exit of the Throne Room.
As he left, he closed the door behind him, and almost jumped when he heard a female voice behind him.
"Prime Minister, Lord Bachelory Antoinette Sheoler II, how nice to see you." He looked towards the woman, sighing quietly when he saw that it was Mimosa. "I have a few papers with the appropriate expenses for the reward of the humans that the Queen asked for. Is Lady Dont-Say-My-Name in?" She asked, tilting her head slightly as she saw Bachelory looking a little… Doubtful for a moment.
"Ah, Mimosa. Just Bachelory is fine. There is no need to be so formal, as we are creations of the Supreme Lords, art there?" The Doppelgänger seemed to regain his composure, standing up straight and looking at the Succubus secretary.
"Well, my holy creator, Black Abyss•White Flower, once said that a secretary should always refer to others in a formal and respectful manner. As long as she's working." She said with a little hesitation towards Bachelory, but firmness in her statement. The word of the Supreme Lords was absolute after all. So, unless Black Abyss says otherwise, Bachelory knew that Mimosa wouldn't budge.
"Indeed? I perceive it to be so. In such circumstances, it seems that nothing further may be done. Nevertheless, I trust thou understandest that I am well content to be addressed simply as Bachelory. Or, should it better suit thine sensibilities, Lord Bachelory." The Prime Minister nodded towards Mimosa, understanding the Succubus' position regarding her desire to fulfill her creator's wishes. He could absolutely and obviously relate.
"Alright, Lord Bachelory, I'll make an exception for you. May I ask you a question?" She said with a calmer face than she usually would be.
The idea of the 'exception' to the Supremes' orders gave a bitter taste in both NPCs' mouths, but considering how their Ladies were so flexible regarding orders, both brilliant minds let it pass, as something that the Supreme Ladies would definitely allow. It's not like they were giving themselves any leeway by 'bending' direct orders. That would be heresy, and Bachelory himself would have killed Mimosa if such an 'exception' was such a thing, an insult and a lack of obedience to the Supremes.
"Indeed, Mimosa. Pray, feel free to inquire of me any matter. Provided it be neither out of place nor inconsistent with my character, of course." The elegant Lord nodded again, maintaining his majestic bearing.
The Succubus stood still for a moment, before asking.
"Why do I have the strange feeling that you are stalling for time for some reason?"
"… Mm? I am curious, what leads thee to such a notion, Mimosa? I merely engage with thee, as one of the creations of the Supreme Lords, in customary formality, given that there is no haste on either part." The Prime Minister excused himself, quite naturally.
"I understand. But usually our interactions have an average time of 29.71 seconds, based on the amount of work I bring you. While we have already spent more than 83 seconds, and counting, interacting. Added to the fact that you did not answer the question about whether the Supreme Queen was there, I think you are just stalling for time." She explained quickly and seriously while looking directly at the Prime Minister, from whom a droplet seemed to fall down his forehead.
"Hmm… Verily, thou art correct. I must confess that I am somewhat… Hmm. Taken aback. And 'tis this very reason that causes me to prolong this engagement, so that thou might not disrupt the discourse betwixt our Supreme Ladies within the throne room." The Doppelgänger admitted, without losing his noble composure. It was just a genius admitting a small, almost embarrassing, but kind of funny detail to another genius friend.
Mimosa looked at him more closely, but a slight blush covered her cheeks. "D-Do you mean…?" Y-You say that the maids' rumors have… Solid foundations…? That the-the Supremes are…"
The Prime Minister was silent for far too long… That is, 0.4 seconds.
"I do not intend to rely upon idle gossip, given that some of Titania's Maids possess a penchant for embellishing tales. Nevertheless… I must acknowledge that there may be some substance to such rumors. Indeed." Bachelory nodded. "Hence, in light of the nature of the… Interaction that the Supremes appear to have commenced, provided I am not unduly presumptuous or disrespectful, I would counsel against interrupting the Supremes at this juncture. However, should you choose to disregard my counsel and proceed regardless, I doubt Lady Black Abyss would object to your presence as her creation. I must, however, note the possibility that our Queen might be feeling somewhat… Perturbed, perhaps." The Doppelgänger finished, staring at the Succubus.
Mimosa stared at him intently for far too long, namely 0.51 seconds, before the Succubus spoke again.
"Considering the short time frame until the appointed time tomorrow at 2 o'clock, there are 16 hours, 37 minutes and 24 seconds until the humans are sought by the Supreme Holy Lady, Black Abyss•White Flower. Counting the delay in the transfer of orders, every minute that passes without confirming these expenses, will be 2 minutes of delay." Mimosa explained, before turning around and walking to the wall next to her, leaning against it. "But the interaction of the Supremes is more important." She concluded while adjusting her glasses and showing a slightly pink face. Closing her eyes, Mimosa remained willing to wait without any rush, as she would never rush any Supreme Lord. Their timing was perfect after all, surely they were counting the time too, every second that passed.
However, the doors to the throne room opened, and Black Abyss stepped out with a black rose in her hair, and a wide smile.
"Ah~ Hello Mimosa~" She said, raising her hand to pat the Succubus on the head, who smiled politely, though genuinely cheerfully.
"G-Good afternoon, Holy Supreme Lady~ Black Abyss•White Flower~" She said with a more cheerful tone, compared to the usually serious one she always had.
"Dont is free now~ Go whenever you want~" The Succubus nodded after her creator's words. She looked at her after she stopped receiving the pats, seeing the black rose that contrasted so much against her bright white hair.
If she wasn't mistaken, it was one of the many species of roses that the Demonic Supreme Lady, Dont-Say-My-Name, had in her private garden, so… She smiled, seeing that the rumors had even more substance.
"Bachelory, tell Achernar that he will go with me to take Nfirea, Enri, Nemi, and Kalos to Deorum Regnum in… 5 hours. That way, he can see what the town is like and think of the best way to place hidden defenders." The Angel said to the Prime Minister, also patting him on the head.
The Doppelgänger nodded with a bow, with his hands behind his back. "Aye, my Lady. It shall be done with priority." Bachelory placed a finger on his temple, and was silent for a moment. "It hath been arranged, my Lady." The Prime Minister bowed again.
"Good job~" The Supreme exclaimed, giving Bachelory the happiness he received every time he carried out their orders.
Still, they watched intently as Black Abyss turned and gave a wink into the room, before closing the door.
"See ya~" She said to the NPCs present, who bowed deeply to the Supreme, who walked away through the halls, walking happily.
The duo stood up once enough time had passed, and looked at each other. They nodded to each other, in complete understanding, and said goodbye without words as they each went their own way, their hearts at the peak of happiness.
