"Adriann! Please come in." Marlene's face broke into a huge grin as soon as her eyes fell on Amaia and Adriann. He surprised Amaia in the evening when he suddenly informed her that they were attending the dinner at his parents's place, which he had previously rejected.
"Hi Mom!" Amaia placed a smile on her face as she greeted her mother.
"Hello, Mrs. Sinclair." Adriann also greeted Marlene at the same time as Amaia.
"Hi. Oh, please don't call me Mrs. Sinclair anymore. I'm your mother now, so call me that." Marlene chuckled at Adriann's polite way of greeting her while completely ignoring Amaia in the process. Amaia's heart squeezed in pain at the way her mother completely ignored her and focused on Adriann. She could have at least acknowledged her. Amaia tried her best to bury the hurt inside her while placing a fake smile on her face.
