Third Person's POV
A big explosion blasted before her eyes.
"No. No. No! Archer!" He shouted and ran quickly upstairs. Calling them out in her trembling voice.
Not when she's been given a promising second life that it has to end so early again. Her heart was pounding so fast, and all she could think of were Archer and the twins, who were hiding in the master's bedroom.
She knew damn well that this assassination was way too early. However, just as the story goes on in the novel, more explosions take place on the third floor of the castle, and these explosions will lead to getting the Queen's attention. The explosion startled her even more when fire started to crawl in her direction. Despite the impact she could feel from the explosion, Lorelai forced herself to run faster. Using her arms to shield her face from the impact and the fire debris, she wandered her eyes to look for the master's bedroom.
Lorelai struggled to reach her location, and as soon as she got to see the master's bedroom, her face was slowly filled with horror. She was unable to move from her spot. The entrance to the bedroom was on fire. Lorelai went hysterical. She pulled out the two swords and went inside the bedroom. She didn't care whether she got burned. There was no time to spare. She needs to save the three before more explosions occur.
"You!"
Lorelai turned to look and saw a woman in a cloak. Her eyes darkened in anger. There was no doubt that this was behind the explosions. The woman immediately cast a magic circle and threw a ball of fire in Lorelai's direction. Lorelai quickly slid herself to the right to dodge the fire. Using both of her swords, she charged at the woman and sliced one of her hands where she cast a magic circle.
The blood squirted all over the room, and the woman screamed in pain. Lorelai only stared blankly at the woman, while the woman panicked and tried to escape from her. She walked slowly to the woman.
"Where are they?"
"Ahhh!"
"I don't know!"
Before Lorelai could open her mouth to speak, she saw a beam of light in her peripheral vision. Her body automatically squats down to the floor. Another explosion blasted into the wall from the magic. Her eyes stared dead at the assailant.
Lorelai ran in her direction, and before the woman could cast another magic circle, she stabbed deep into the woman's stomach. It screamed in pain and struggled to get away from her. Lorelai pulled the sword quickly and sliced the woman's hand as well. Blood splattered on her face. She was in a rage. It appears that their magic spell was the reason behind the explosion. The assassins were going all out to kill them all at once.
Before the other woman could escape from her, Lorelai immediately went to grab her along with the other women. The two tried to fight, but Lorelai was stronger than them. Without any hesitation, Lorelai threw them both into the fire. The two struggled and tried to get away from the fire, but Lorelai immediately injured their legs using her sword, making them unable to crawl. The scream and the burning smell of flesh put her whole system at ease. She had never felt this relaxed in a while.
"Demon." A voice spoke from behind.
Lorelai slowly turned to look, and this time it was a woman wearing familiar armor. When she wandered her eyes more, she saw the unconscious, frail bodies of the twins. Her eyes widened in surprise.
"Lorelai!" Archer called out.
She looked at Archer only to see him holding his bleeding arms, and he staggered his way to them. Two women suddenly appeared behind Archer and caught him on the spot. One of the women kicked him down to the floor. Wincing in pain, Archer could only endure the unbearable pain.
Lorelai could barely restrain her anger at that moment. She could feel her blood boiling in anger. With the fact that the twins were unconscious and were about to be abducted, and Archer was injured, there was a lot going on in her mind. It was as if voices were whispering in her mind.
"Let it out."
"Let it out," she uttered to herself.
Lorelai positioned herself and pointed the two sword. Stabilizing her breath, Lorelai closed her eyes. The heat of the burning room, the twins' small struggle to breathe, and the loud pounding of her heart. Just like when she first saw her arms transformed into a knight's armor, Lorelai tried to visualize it, and with all her desperation, she pleaded to summon the armor in her mind.
Seconds later, her arms, down to her fingertips, started to reflect the light coming from the fire. She felt her arms getting all numb and light. And slowly but surely, her entire arms transformed into a knight's armor. Lorelai's arms were beautiful but deadly. It was decorated with gold laces, and white diamonds were meticulously embedded in the armor. The armor was not new. However, it does not look too old to tell that it was worn out. In fact, the armor in her arms resembles a king's armor that has been used in multiple wars.
Everyone was in awe. Even Archer could not believe what he had just seen. A skin that turns completely into armor is indescribable. Without any more time to spare, Lorelai charged at the two women, restraining Archer. She went to their backs, and using both swords, she severely sliced them down. To make sure that the two were unable to fight back, Lorelai kicked their weapons away and stabbed their hands.
And before Archer could fall down, Lorelai was able to catch him on time. When her eyes went to the twins, the woman was already on the balcony. It jumped quickly while carrying the twins.
"The twins! Lorelai!" Archer shouted.
Lorelai only nodded and carried Archer on her back. They went straight to the balcony and saw that the twins were already on the ground. It ran fast to the forest. Archer immediately went down on her back.
"Quickly, get the twins. Go!"
"No. It's fine," Lorelai said. Archer was taken aback and looked at her in confusion. Lorelai was just staring blankly as the twins disappeared from her sight.
"Lorelai, what in the world are you doing!?"
"We need to leave." Lorelai just ignored Archer and went ahead to carry him again on her back. Archer tried to struggle to get away from her, but Lorelai was holding him strong.
Without any warning, Lorelai jumped straight to the ground, and as soon as they landed, another explosion blasted. The impact of the explosion made him close his eyes.
"Can you run?" Lorelai asked as she put him down. Archer could only nod in response.
"Chase after the twins. You'll all be on time by then," Lorelai said, her face emotionless. Confusion was all over his face. He couldn't understand Lorelai anymore. She let the twins get abducted, and now he has to chase after them. Archer did not waste time anymore. He ran fast to the forest without looking back at her. Archer doesn't know what's going on with Lorelai. And for the first time, it feels as if Lorelai gave him an order like a true noble. Archer could only follow his lady's order without a question.
Fortunately, it was only his arms that got injured after protecting the twins from the explosion, and despite the exhaustion, Archer ran fast deep in the dark forest. His heart was pounding loudly. Archer could only pray that he could catch up with the abductor and save the twins.
As he goes deep into the forest, his vision can no longer see the way. It was all pitch black. He lifted his face only to see a dark sky. He frowned in disappointment. Archer had no choice. Although he hasn't used his powers in a while, he will have to rely on them to make it to the twins.
"Come forth, children of the light and wind. I beg you to take me where the twins are," he said, summoning the spirit of the wind. Despite the fact that it was only a low-grade wind spirit and a light spirit, it was enough to see the path and find the twins.
"Let go!"
"Let us go!"
Felipe. He thought.
He hurried his way to the twins. When he finally reached them, Archer saw that Felix was trying to pull Felipe away from the woman. Archer instantly caught the woman's attention. It suddenly panicked and went to grab a dagger from her shoe.
Archer was taken aback, as was Felix. At this point, if they make a mistake, Felipe will be in great danger. Felix stared intently at the dagger. He could see his twins struggling from the grip of the women. Felipe was already pale and looked like he was about to pass out. Felix slowly stepped backwards. If only the woman would only focus on Archer, he might be able to save Felipe. But who are they to face an assassin on their own? They were only boys, and it was only their sister Lorelai who faced the assassins bravely.
"Remember, Felix, in times of trouble, even in the tightest situations, don't panic and be as rational as possible."
"Don't panic. Think," he thought.
Felix did not realize until now that he was already out of sight of the assassin. His breath was getting heavier. This is the perfect moment to come up with a plan to save his twin. Without moving, he started to look for something in his surroundings. He spotted the long branch of a wooden stick. It was a bit longer than the sword that her sister was using. Carefully, Felix grabbed the sword.
For some reason, he started to feel hot, and his breath grew heavier. He knew deep within him that something painful was coming out somewhere in his body. It was too hot. His vision started to blur, and he was sweating terribly. He tried to fight back and endure the heat.
Too hot. But Felipe, I need to save Felipe.
All of a sudden, Felix screamed in pain, and a red flame burst out on the wooden stick. It caught everyone's attention. Felix's eyes widened in surprise. The wooden stick was on fire, and yet he didn't feel any burning sensation. Felix smirked in victory. Soon enough, Felix ran towards the woman and struck the burning stick straight into its face. Archer grabbed the opportunity and quickly pulled Felipe away from her.
"F*ck! It hurts!" The woman shouted. She tried to cover her face, but it was too late. Felix's flaming stick was able to burn her cheeks. Furious, the woman lifted the dagger in the air and tried to attack Felix.
"Felix, get away!"
In an instant, an arrow struck the woman's hand. She screamed in pain and released the dagger. Felix immediately ran away from her. Archer grabbed Felix and pulled him closer to them. Seconds later, multiple knights came riding on their horses. Cautious , Archer held the twins tighter. He could no longer let his guard down.
"At ease," a man's voice said, and he went straight to them.
"Care to explain what is happening here, boy?" he asked.
"Assassins. That woman is an assassin and is trying to kill my masters," Archer immediately replied.
The man turned his back. "Your majesty, it seems it was an assassination."
"I see."
"Take them with us and put that assassin in prison, Carlisle."
