The devil waited for Killian to say something, but when he didn't, the devil sneered, 'What happened? Cat got your tongue? Do you finally accept that you were wrong?'
'No! This is not true....'
'Keep on lying to yourself, Killian. Keep on running from what you want,' the devil mocked.
'I am not!'
'Yeah, whatever,' the devil rolled his eyes when suddenly, like a gentle breeze cutting through the chaos, a voice pierced his veil of conversation. "Killian," it whispered a melody that stirred his heartstrings.
Blinking, Killian's consciousness resurfaced, and his gaze fell upon the woman nestled in his arms. She looked up at him, her beautiful forest-green eyes holding a mixture of concern and affection.
