"What's that sound, Lily?" I asked curiously.
Lily shrugged, her eyes darting around. "I do not know, my lady," she replied.
Unwilling to let my curiosity be stifled, I lifted the hem of my flowing blue gown and followed the sound. As I approached a secluded corner of the garden, I noticed a solitary figure amidst the shadows. It was Arlo, the royal guard, and my new friend. He was practicing with a sword. His movements were swift and elegant, the blade glinting in the sunlight.
A smile spread across my face. "Lily, wait here," I whispered and rushed towards him.
As Arlo spotted my approach, he ceased his swordplay and bowed respectfully. "Amelia," he greeted, his voice as smooth as velvet. He took my hand and kissed the back of my palm. "You are radiant this morning. The blue suits you," he remarked, his eyes twinkling with admiration.
I smiled in return, "Thank you, Arlo. I must say, your swordsmanship is quite impressive."
