"Hey!" Ace exclaimed with confidence, "You can call me dumb as many times as you like, but don't go insulting my MAGIC WEAPON like that!" "Magic weapon, huh? Amon looks at the weapon Ace selected and laughs, saying, "Wow would you look at that! That's a real destructive weapon you've got there! I have no doubt that your teensy-weensy SHIELD could slay every foe in your path."
"What do you mean 'teensy-weensy'. It's just as big as this dagger right here! Not to mention that the shield serves as the scabbard for this sturdy 8-inch dagger I received." Ace yells at Amon, "I essentially have two weapons at my disposal for the tournament."
"Huh? What did you say? Hey crappy announcer, why does this brat get two weapons? It isn't fair, DISQUALIFY HIM!", a random contender screams. "BEEP BOOP! Y-o-u g-u-y-s a-r-e Annoying me, right now! T-h-e s-c-a-b-b-a-r-d o-f t-h-e d-g-g-e-r j-u-s-t h-a-p-p-e-n-s t-o w-o-r-k l-i-k-e a s-h-i-e-l-d. I-t i-s e-n-t-i-r-e-l-y u-p-t-o t-h-e p-a-r-t-i-c-i-p-a-n-t t-h-a-t h-o-w t-h-e-y u-s-e i-t. NOT THAT YOU IDIOTS CAN UNDERSTAND WHAT I AM TRYING TO SAY…"
"Umm… Ace, I think you are bleeding…" "Huh? Where from?" "Your ears." "Oh yeah! It might or might not be this announcer's fault." "Ok, leave it… You just said that this weapon—a shield, a dagger, whatever—is a magical one. How so?" Luxman eagerly queries.
Ace smirks and gives Luxman an arrogant glance before saying, "Hihihi. I'm glad you inquired. Can you make out this stone in the shield's middle? It only takes a quick look to recognize that this is a magic stone, and since it has a magic stone at its center, my calculations indicate that it is 3829% a magic weapon."
Amon muses to Luxman, "Yeah, so I analyzed that shield and dagger and none of them is a magic weapon so he is 3829% wrong. And according to my calculations, there is a 100% chance that he pulled this odd number right out of his ass at random." Luxman sighs and says, "Hmm... thought so." "Hey! What are you guys discussing? The round is about to start at any moment now."
"BEEP BOOP! Greetings, you mutts! 300 competitors—250 with weapons and 50 with bare hands—will compete now that all the small fries have been eliminated. Before you overly-smart people start brainstorming and babbling, 'Oh, bUt tHe pEoPlE wHo wEnT iN tHe bArEhAnD rOoM wErE aBoUt 300 oR sO!' I will tell you that only the top 50 candidates were permitted to take part in the event after they passed a brief selection process and earned points by defeating fabricated magic beasts. By the way, from now on, this is the way I'll talk since I don't have to stall for time anymore."
Ace exclaims, "I've never been happier in my life," as tears filled with joy and happiness stream down his cheeks.
"You now need to collect the element card assigned for you at random from the vendor directly outside the treasure hunt gate in order to access the treasure hunt for the matching element's scythe in the first round. There is an exception, however. To ensure greater fairness, each user of a magic weapon will be given a different scythe to hunt for and thus will be assigned to different rooms."
"Well, unfortunately, it looks like I would not be able to put you in your place in this round so at least try to make it to the next round…", Amon taunts Luxman. "It appears that luck is truly on your side today." Luxman responds, "Please try not to lose to a random nobody in this round or else I won't even get a chance to show you how superior I am to you." Ace mutters, "Sounds like two friends encouraging each other to me…" "WE ARE NOT FRIENDS!", they both yell at Ace at once. "Yeah, yeah, whatever. Let's just collect our element cards from the counter."
As the three of them collect their respective element cards, they are immediately teleported to their assigned treasure hunt room:
"Well, it seems the magic I felt coming from that door was
"What the… That scared the shit out of me. The guy at the counter didn't even warn me first…", Luxman exclaims as he teleports to a random spot in the hunting room of FIRE SCYTHE. "Now where do I look for the Fire Scythe? The counter guy did say that if we thoroughly examine every inch of the room, we might be able to uncover some hints regarding the location of the treasure."
"Wooaahhhh!!! What was that… It was so amazing. I want to learn how to teleport like that!", Ace shouts with excitement as soon as he teleports to a random location in the hunting room of WIND SCYTHE. "Well, I suppose I should start looking for the Scythe right away. Ace begins to wander aimlessly through the Wind Scythe hunting room, oblivious to the fact that there are numerous participants who could suddenly attack him if he gets spotted. "I wouldn't mind if I find some treasure chest lying here and there, as the host lady said though, it would certainly help me buy this tower. It's rather sad that I couldn't fight with Amon or Lux because of being in different hunting rooms, after all, all three of us chose a magic weapon (Ace just got assigned to a different room out of pure chance though.)"
The three of them are constantly in awe of the elemental Scythe hunting rooms' breathtaking beauty, whether it be the lava-filled Fire Scythe hunting room, which appears to be covered in flames and volcanoes all over resembling hell itself, or
The water-filled hunting room of Water Scythe covered in a variety of underwater formations such as shipwrecks, underwater monuments, and aquatic life that resembles the ocean floor itself or
Wind Scythe's cloud-filled hunting room covered with several tiny floating islands and avian-like flying creatures, with a fluffy cloud floor that resembles heaven itself.
All of the scenes and creatures in the rooms are holograms, meaning that they cannot be touched because the treasure seekers will be passing right through them. This is one aspect that unites them all. You won't pass through the clouds because there is a floor directly beneath them (that has been made bouncy and soft using rune magic), you won't drown in the Water Scythe room even though it is filled with water, and you won't die falling into lava—participants who fall into lava will be eliminated, though.
