Chapter 10 - Scythe Pandemonium: Treasure Hunt II

Amon notices that even though he is submerged in water, he doesn't need to hold his breath, indicating that even the water is artificial. However, he does feel that the air inside the room is much denser than the air outside, and the oxygen levels are also lower, which would probably make the treasure hunt more difficult.

The situation with Luxman was nearly identical; despite the fact that the lava in a majority of the volcanoes and the pits were fake, the intense heat in the hunting room was very much real. Thus, the entire area was ignited, and it seemed like it would take an eternity to put out the fire.

Even so, the Wind Scythe's hunting room was an anomaly, with slightly lower oxygen levels that approximated high altitudes. Ace believed that his hunt would not be difficult. Being the fun-loving, adventurous person that he is, Ace begins to explore the room in the hopes of discovering a hint of the Wind Scythe by pure chance, having absolutely no fear of being ambushed by other players.

"Ahh!" I've been walking for about fifteen minutes now, and not a single player or hint has appeared. In fact, I could swear that I've already crossed the boundary of this room five times now. THIS ROOM SEEMS TO GO ON AND ON FOREVER", while Luxman is irritated and tired of this hunting room mystery, Amon has already discovered the explanation for the never-ending rooms. "Huh!" I understand. It appears that I have made an error in my assessment; the difficulty of the hunt is not solely due to the rune magic. It seems we have been teleported to a different dimension altogether."

As Luxman wanders about the mystical room, he is the first one to come across a clue… "Hoo!? What's this engraved on the wall? Is this one of those clues the guy was talking about?" The writing on the wall says, "Where shadows stretch and whispers sing, Seek the crest where eagles wing. Once it roared, now whispers low, where only echoes of legends go. The highest peak, serene and grand, to find your prize, to it you must stand. An ancient titan, calm and grand, the treasure lies within its land." "I am not much of a poetic person but one thing's for sure, I will find the Scythe inside a giant volcano. Well, only if this 'highest peak' refers to the highest volcano around that is."

"Woooh…" "Yeeeeah…" "Haiiii…" "Suiiiiiii…", "As Ace bounces on the Wind Scythe room's fake clouds, he exclaims, "These fake bouncy clouds are so fun that I don't even feel like searching for that scythe anymore." Little does he know, though, that another competitor has been eavesdropping on him, waiting for the perfect opportunity to strike and guarantee a sure kill. "Didn't know they allowed such dim-witted kids to enter the tournament; as a superior boar-human (A human-boar hybrid), eliminating him will be a piece of cake for me! HUHAHAHAHAHHAHAAHHAAAA... Ahee.. Ahee. Ahum. I wonder why I always seem to get this cough whenever I do my evil laugh.." The boar-human looks back at the location where Ace was a few moments ago after finishing his plan of attack, but he is startled to see that Ace has vanished. He scans the area quickly in an attempt to locate him but is unable to find him anywhere. "Hmm... It appears that another player got to him before me! Had I been given the opportunity, I would have... I would have... "You would have?" "I would've used my claws to grab his neck and… AHH…", screams the stalker as he sees Ace standing right beside him. He creates a safe distance between them and asks, "How'd you…? You were just… Uh, forget it. You've just made my job easier. Now I don't have to create any strategy to get rid…", the stalker was just about to complete his sentence when Ace gets boared (this is not a typo), puts one of his hands in his pocket, and in just an instant jumps towards him, grabs him by his face and throws him on the ground saying "You talk too much, you know that?"

"Well, that answers that. I've explored nearly the whole space keeping in mind all the boundaries of the room; it seems strange to refer to it as merely a room given that it's nearly as large as the white patch on the dragon guarding the gates of hell in the tale I recently read, but that one appears to be the largest volcano after all. (In short, the size of each room is comparable to 5 football fields; I'm not sure why Luxman makes these weird comparisons)" states Luxman pointing towards the most menacing-looking massive active volcano in the Fire Scythe room.
