Chapter 12 - Scythe Pandemonium: Treasure Hunt IV

"Sheesh Man! Who would've guessed I would find a professional treasure hunter to help me find the scythe, by the way, I thought the hint indicated that I would find the scythe here, at the top of this largest volcano?" "Well then, you were completely wrong dumbass", the pirate chief mutters to himself. "Huh? Did you say something?", Luxman asks. "N-nothing special, I was just wondering if you were certain that the clue you gave me to the treasure matches the one you discovered scribbled on the wall, exactly? And by exactly, I mean WORD-BY-WORD!" the chief of the pirates challenges Luxman's memory. "It seems you've got the wrong idea, flunky," Luxman says, putting his sword on his neck in an instantaneous fit of rage. You are NOT my equal, not even close! Thus, watch your tongue the next time you speak with me, or I will be happy to help you get rid of it.

"Just tell me what did you find up there damn it! I can't handle the suspense anymore.", Ace yells at Gelub as he refuses to answer the question and walks him to the location where he broke a hole in the ceiling. "I refuse master, instead of hearing about it, I want you to see it with your own eyes! Here, just sit on my shoulders and I will take you up there.", Gelub squats as Ace places each of his legs on Gelub's shoulder. Gelub cracks both of his metal knuckles against each other and murmurs, "TEN TIMES!" And grows tenfold. "Wait didn't you scream really loud last time before getting bigger?" "Oh, that was just for style master. Never mind that right now, instead look at what is in front of you!" "Hmm, in front of me is… a-a-a-a A TREASURE CHEEESSTTT!!!"

A voice asks, "Why so insecure, Mister?" as Luxman makes a death threat against the pirate chief over a trivial matter. "Who do you think you are talking to lackey, you are not even comparable to this flunky, yet you dare question my security?" Luxman yells furiously after turning back toward the voice. "That's the problem with you, you see… comparing everyone to you and showering them with your wrath, that just goes to show how fearful you are of GETTING SCARED!", says the vice pirate captain (who decided to follow Luxman and his captain on the hunt to find the scythe after being woken up by Luxman that one time) with no fear whatsoever in his eyes. Luxman exudes a fierce aura that could frighten even the most vicious of creatures as he stands motionless with a composed expression and his eyes closed as if attempting to contain his quiet rage. With a kneeling motion, the pirate captain asks, "What have you done, Coco? We're both doomed now!

"Master, look what I found! This necklace is made of precious stones!" "Huh, that's a pretty rare find, but can it rival this golden crown I found?" grins Ace, placing the jewel-encrusted crown atop his head. Ace and Gelub are ecstatic to find this treasure chest full of priceless jewels, metals, and even magic stones, but little do they know their bliss will be short-lived. As they take pleasure in seeing every single priceless item in the treasure chest, Ace pulls out one of the two daggers from his shield and throws it in Gelub's direction. Alarmed, Gelub sidesteps right away and is fascinated by what he sees next: the spot he was standing at a few moments ago is now the scene of a clash between a magic arrow and a plain and bland dagger that is thrown with such skill and accuracy that it instantly negates the effect of the arrow.

"Go ahead... Take all your rage and even kill me! Because I, a mere insect, have committed a felony of harming your pride. "Coco, why do you have to enrage him even more? I still want to live this worthless life of mine, unlike you. You are aware that I am still unmarried, wight? For once, consider my future wife and kids." Reaching his vice captain's feet, the pirate captain cries, "How would they bear the fact that their husband and father was already dead before they even got to see him!" "What on earth are you saying? Can you even hear yourself right now? Do you really think I'm not afraid? Just look at my feet!" With his legs trembling violently, Coco yells softly to his captain, " But even still, someone had to show this scary guy his place!" Luxman, still standing motionless, finally moves. Luxman sheathes his sword again, curls his fingers, clenches his fist, and raises it as if he is going to punch someone, startling both Coco and the captain in the process. In a last-ditch effort to evade Luxman's wrath, Coco and the captain both duck and cover their heads and faces with their hands. However, to their surprise the punch doesn't come for a while, they slowly stand up and remove their hands from in front of their eyes only to see a red wound contrast starkly against his forehead. His hand is still clenched into a tight fist, the knuckles bruised from the blow, and blood is slowly dripping over his forehead. But what catches them off guard the most is Luxman's broad smile. "Lady, I must thank you. I'm not sure if it was the result of my defeats to the wrath wielder, Ace, and then Galahad—the worst of all, back to back—or simply my FEAR OF BEING SCARED, as you just mentioned, but I indeed allowed trivial matters to damage my pride and thus letting my wrath to take control—something I had vowed would never happen again. But you are the one who helped me realize my own negligence, so I owe you! You are welcome to ask me for any favor..." "Well... There is that one thing..." "Go ahead and ask for anything you need; if it's within my power, I shall gladly fulfill your wish for you." "I had one thing in mind... Wou-wou-would you… perhaps… when this tournament is over, GO ON A DATE WITH ME!?" Coco exclaims, blushing.

[Side note: It seems that even after more than three or four years of travel with Coco, her captain is still in disbelief that she has been a girl the entire time!]
